I just finished my first run in Triumph 18 this morning. I ran almost exclusively in Bondi 7 for the last three weeks. In conclusion, In personal opinion, I must say that Triumph 18 is better. While Bondi's foam lets you feet sink into its mid sole, hence require more energy for push off, Triumph 18's foam actually feels like it "support" while not letting your feet sink into the mid sole. As a result, less energy is needed for toeing off. It feels lighter, faster, and firmer (but in a good way). By the way, I am 179 cm tall and weight 97kg. I run slow at pace around 7-8 mins per km and about 10km a day. I personally feel that Triumph is better for heavy runner like my myself. I am from Thailand, a tropical country, I don't feel that this shoe is hotter than any other shoes. Maybe because I run short.
For me there is no comparison between the two shoes. I'm 6'1", 230 lbs, with plantars fasciitus. For me, the Bondi 7 is perfection. I nearly cried tears of relief when trying it on in the store. I have had it for two weeks and my foot pain is now GONE! I wear them whenever I'm on my feet. Tried the Triumph but it cannot compare in cushion or comfort. The soul is in now way as cushy as the Hoka. I am honestly shocked you say its comparable. It is not comparable to me. For max cushion comfort I give the Hoka a 9.5 or 10 and the Triumph only a 6. The Triumph was not even in the same ballpark as the Hoka. I just ordered a 2nd pair of Bondi 7's, one for running and one for everyday wear. I wish Hoka made a houseshoe. My 3 years of pain is gone. Triumph was uncomfortable and not cushy to my foot.
I agree! Nothing compares to the Hoka bondi. I have Morton’s neuroma, plantar faciitis and bunions. The Hoka took away all my pain, all of it. It’s a miracle shoe. I hope they never stop making it I would literally die lol
The Bondi 7 is so tight on me even in a 2E which Is my actual size. It shocked me how narrow it felt. I always assumed Hoka would be the most friendly shoes for wider feet but they were not pleasant on mine. 😕
I got the same experiences. Getting Bondi 5 regular wide, to be disappointed with the narrow toe box even I wore thin socks and skipped the first lace hole. I bought Bondi 7 2E a few weeks ago, I still felt very narrow that I had to return it to the seller. I go pretty well with Clifton 6 and 8 both at 2E wide. I didn't even know that there were 4E version of Bondi. If there is, It will be a good try for me considering the max cushion of Bondi
If you need a new pair of shoes yes, key updates is the Rubber underneath will be more grippy in the wet and feel a bit more smooth in transition and the upper is not quite as hot but overall a similar shoe.
I suffer from posterial tibial tendonitis loveeeee bondi 6. Have spend alot for the right shoes that will be me a small comfort before I found my first bondi. Thanks for this bondi 7. I need to get a new pair.
What do you recommend for just a daily walking/work shoe that isn't a designated "walking shoe" since it seems like those are the most hideously designed shoes ever. Curious as to what someone with Plantar Fasciitis should be wearing during the day while out and about? Should that person lean more to a stability shoe or to a neutral cushioned shoe?
Would suggest the Triumph 18 as fair as comfort and durability goes. Seeing a half decent Physio could help with Strength and Conditioning, or even give this article a read by Pogo Physio. www.pogophysio.com.au/blog/plantar-fasciitis/
Yes, I agree getting a physiotherapist to treat plantar fascitis is best. Strengthening the foot and calves. Maybe getting some decent orthotic insoles if it keeps on reocurring. I have been using Asics Nimbus or Kayano since 2014 for work doing 8 or 9 hrs per shift, 10K to 14K steps. I had plantar fascitis multiple times. The physio sessions and take home exercises healed my feet better than just having good shoes and insoles. I might try these new gen shoes soon for a change. Hope it feels better for you soon. The morning stiffness and sharp bruising sensations are not fun.
I started wearing Hoka shoes when I was in Runners Roost to get new shoes because I had plantar fasciitis and the Hoka rep was in the store. I started with Clifton 4 and then migrated to the Bondi 6 and now 7 because Hoka changed the cushioning in the Clifton 6. I primarily use the Bondi for long walks with my dog. I’ve also had two ankle surgeries on the right ankle (ligaments and posterior tibular tendons). Hoka helped my plantar fasciitis but I’m curious about the Saucony shoes. Saucony site said Hurricane is recommended for me, with Triumph as an option
mesh on the bondi sucks. I do have a bit of toe lift from lack of follow through as a 6'5" 285# runner. But this is never an issue in any brand except hoka. They are awfully pricey for uppers that dont even make it 25 miles i do feel the stiffness also makes the toe lift and lack of follow through worse
I ordered Saucony Ride 13, should get it next week, cant wait! Little worried about the sizing becouse its my first Saucony shoe. At least i can send it back for a refund. Also gonna probably order Speed if i like the Ride. Love the reviews, keep them coming :-)
Beyond Dafeet i ordered a pair a couple days ago. Anxious to see how they fair! I run in clifton 7's a lot, but sometimes they're just a bit mushy and i think the shifts will be a bit firmer
They do feel soft from the sample pair i tried on but i dare say they will be much more responsive then a clifton, fingers crossed. Let us know how it goes!
Hi I want to buy a very soft max cushion shoe for my foot pain . I’m only a person who walks around. Mainly at work . Triump 18 or altra torin 4.5 or hoka Clifton 8 ? Kindly advice
@@BeyondDafeet even if on the bondi you kinda sink backwards? Also between gaviota 2 the bondi 7 and Clifton 7 which would be 1 2 and 3 for lower back pain and ball of the foot pain im about 511 250lbs thanks
When just standing in the shoe you will sink backwards as it’s a rocker sole but when walking or running it will take a lot of pressure away. Just personal preference really for a heavier person I’d still say Bondi, Gaviota then Clifton. Depends if your feet are strong or you pronate a lot and need more stability if so then look at the Gaviota.
such a bloody shame the Bondi 7 only comes in 2 colours for those of us with 4E feet. and as the only Hoka One One in that sizing, grey and black colour choices are a real bummer. that said I wear my Bondi 7s on a daily basis (arthritic knee) and swear by their cushioning. just wish Hoka One One would offer the same sizing in other styles, or increase the colour options for the Bondi 7.
I am dealing with achilles tenditis. My orthopedic says I need a sneaker with a bigger drop. Would the triumph be a good fit or would the ghost be better? I know the triumph is at 8 while the ghost is 12? TIA.
I'd recommend doing a lot of eccentric training for your calfs/achilles tendons. I struggled with achilles tendonitis/scar tissue for more than 10 years. 3x15 heel drops (only the downward motion) after each run, stretching and switching to Hoka max cushioned shoes helped me.
Wow you they a real winner with the Triumph 17! and then they change it? 😢. If it’s not broke don’t fix it! please on the T19 make it more like the T17. Who’s ever in there R&D department needs to be let go 💯🔥👍
I've been wearing Hoka Bondi's for years which I loved and the tongue on the & & rubbed too much at the crease of my ankle. My local running store recommend Saucony Freedom ISO 2 and didn't have the Saucony Triumph 18. I have an extremely high arch and instep and no dorsiflexion. How different is the Triumph vs the Freedom ISO 2? Looks like I may need to find the Triumph model which looks closer to the Bondi 7.
Who does it best in 2020! Hoka or Saucony? We love them both!

Try the Hoka Ora recovery shoe for home
@@orion5813 Thanks, I did but its WAY too narrow, which is weird because I don't have wide or fat feet, just a regular 12.5.
Any other recomendations?
