Great channel! Would you mind sharing your opinion on what e-ink device would be good match for the following criteria: - Convenient to use with a keyboard so I can journal, which is a big reason why I want to buy it. Ideally, with a way to bring up the screen a bit so I don't need to look down at the device with bad posture. Additionally, I'd like to be able to use the tablet with keyboard on my lap, so they will need to have an option to be attached together - can add mouse using Bluetooth so it’s easier to edit documents - back light - note taking directly in books using stylus and as standalone note docs - good sync across devices so I can send articles from Mac to e ink tablet for reading and notes. Also, so I can check and edit e-ink notes on mac/iphone - some sort of convenient security feature, such as finger print or similar to unlock the device - organizing notes into folders - pen with eraser capability - privacy concerned and trustworthy company, or at least able to conveniently use privacy conscious note taking apps such as Standard Notes - fast refresh rate for typing - ideally feature that can turn spoken word into text (speech to text), but not required
Almost all of the criteria would be satisfied by the Note Air 4 C, and I think that's your best choice right now. The pen it comes with is the pen plus, which doesn't have the eraser. You could see if you missed the eraser, and if you do buy the pen 2 pro to go with it, it will still magnet to the side. Otherwise there are cheaper pens out there, the Noris jumbo is probably a good shout, but you might like the Lamy EMR pen for a more premium feel. The Boox Tab Ultra C is also a great choice and comes with the pen 2 pro, and you can also have a keyboard case if you prefer. But it doesn't have the newer generation of screen, (improved Kaleido 3,) and so isn't quite as nice to look at. But it is the most powerful tablet they make, also the note feel is not quite as good. In all I think the Note Air4 C is the one I would go with for you, there's nothing else which does all that you want as well as it does. 🙂 Thanks for the thanks!
Can’t recommend the Boox note air 3C or 4c for those using it at work outside. Mine slipped from my hand and hit the ground as I held it at my side (thigh height) and it was in the Boox folio. Screen cracked in half. 2’ drop. Supernote A5X has been dropped a few times, no cracked screen. I think the plastic body is why.
It's going to be between the reMarkabke Pro or the New Supernote I think. The Supernote has a dedicated drawing app which is A+, but the rM pro has delightful colours!
What about the best pen to paper feel/accuracy? If you were a pen snob and enjoyed writing on paper with needlepoint japanese-style pens (for example), are there any that stand out in that area?
A question is missing, in my opinion: what would I buy if I was a musician?… oh sorry… I ‘m a musician and a music teacher… and an Apple fun too! So, pls, do you have any suggestions for me too? Thx for your work on the tube, your channel is so interesting!
I also need to know this. As a musician 9/10 its annotating PDFs (sheet music). If you are not already in the android system (apple) then is it still worth going with a boox device?
Brilliant Which E-Ink Tablet Would I Buy If... video. Thank you!!! I have to say I am jealous of all the toys you have at your disposal to play with. I would love to try the 10.3 and the NA4C. While I don't have an iPad myself I often provide support and how to help for them. I still enjoy my Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+ very much and wouldn't trade. But I would take a S10 Ultra if someone was offering...
I must admit I, I thought you would be committed to the larger 13inch screens, because I find this size essential for doing real world work - solving engineering problems and math etc….your thoughts on size?
Any recommendations for a writer used to long form manuscripts, ready to use templates (outlining, plotting, character profile development), seamless sync with cloud storage and natural (paper) feel?
Can you kindly do a review about the best e colour devices for reading comics. Small form factor and no need of writing capabilities. Comparing with iPad mini would be cherry on the top.
I would like one that does etsy patterns, color and kindle unlimited. I have watched so many videos over the last week and i just cant keep up or comprehend what im hearing.
What would I buy if I want to make notes that can be searched easily and lots of lists. Also l have lots of craft pdfs in dropbox which would be great to annotate or use while making things eg quilting instructions. Dont care about access to email.
What is your experience with dead "pixels" or white/black dots with e-ink tablets? Do they contribute to faster degradation of the tablet? I just got my Boox NA4C in and there is a white spot and I'm trying to decide if its something I can live with or should I try to exchange it. Especially considering the price for this device.
Hi. Do you think the boox nova air will still appear on the official website? I tried to buy it from other stores but I can't find it. It's out of stock everywhere.
Apple introduced retina level display resolution 12 years back. An iPad 2022 model cost less than 300 dollars. The resolution is crisp and the text is ultra -sharp , the display are anti reflective. Eink is way too overpriced. It should be in the 100 dollar to 75 dollar segment, and be introduced for school children and reading news papers

I would love if Apple released an eink tablet that was all my things would sync nicely. It would be a dream.

Good discussion here. Does Manta alter any of this!
I’m curious too.
@@dhrtiwalter8670curious too... That's 80% more than a boox go 10.3 though
Great video as always! I use the NA4C and the Go 10.3 with a bluetooth keyboard.
Together? I am considering doing the same and I’ll be glad to read your experience. Thx.
@C_R_Saltwater What do you mean by together? Typing on both at the same time? I never tried it. Not sure why you would.
How about for sketching doing portraits, what e-ink would be the best of the best, cheers 🙂

Hi Kit, would you consider any of the used Boox devices being sold in their official store. Saving is around £50-80 pounds and still get the warranty.

Supernote, hands down. Buy the Samauri pen. 🙂

Has Boox corrected the Notes app performance issue yet?

You can't adjust text sizes for comics, so anything less than 10 inch is not ideal
@teohyc but usually comics apps have column by column option. So you won't be looking at the whole page, but columb by column.

I would buy the onyx tab ultra / pro black and white or the new , boox max ultra 13.3 new tablet

Tab Ultra c pro.. If mine were all truly gone and if I could only get one.
It's certainly the most capable of the bunch!
You’re quite a thinker
