Based on my professional experience and academic background in consumer psychology, building trust with potential clients is a key factor in their decision to do business with us. Some people refer to it as a 'gut feeling,' but it ultimately comes down to how much they trust us, regardless of our expertise. Trust is often rooted in transparency-both in what we do and how we think. Robin, you've done an excellent job of covering the first aspect. I believe transparency will become even more crucial in the future as people increasingly seek to work with businesses that prioritise transforming lives over just making money. When a business is solely focused on profit, it's less likely to share the kind of openness you've demonstrated in this video. So, well done on this fearless video!
Thank you Alessandro, I completely agree on the transparency front. There are so many fake gooroos out there now who will sacrifice client results over a big payday without hesitation. That’s why I’ve always kept a high ethical and moral code of conduct as I can maintain as a coach. I appreciate your support 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
That's so good to hear Safwaan, I'm trying to document bits of my coaching journey so that others can replicate it and run successful coaching/consulting business too. So far...no negative comments about how much I earn which is great! 😀
"Success is determined by what's going on inside you." That's a brilliant definition and confirms that it's not all about money. Thank you for breaking your numbers down Robin. Really open and honest. It's great to see a coach being brave enough to do this. I was surprised at how well 2 of your "side hussles" are performing. The sponsorships and book sales🙂 Your video has made me tihnk about how I want my business to look going forward. Definitely need a few additional streams.
Thank you Paul, yes the diverse revenue streams are a huge help, when the coaching dips I can fall back on sponsorships and vice versa. Let’s get to work on yours, perhaps it time to get that book written and start promoting it?
Thank you Grace 🤩 I always look to keep moving forwards and upwards but in a way that’s sustainable and manageable for the long run. I hugely appreciate your support 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thank you Maurizio, it certainly makes spending the money on giving books away less painless if you know it’s going to a) be helping loads of people and b) also generating sales. The hard part with book marketing is knowing when the return is going to come as quite often it takes people a few weeks/months to read a book. But I know now for every 100 books I gift to people generally I’ll get 8-10 calls booked and 1-2 sales from it. The trick is making sure they end up in the right hands!
My pleasure Felicia, it felt a bit awkward sharing all the details of my finances but equally I want to inspire coaches as to what’s possibly and how to break down your finances properly. We’ll see what questions come in I guess!!
@RobinMWaite it was very detailed , insightful, educational, and authentic 👌 I like how it's a lifestyle business and intentionally set up to do just that. That's what I am currently working on, too. Thanks again for sharing 😊
Really great question John, I'll be aiming to invest at least the same again into my pension (I'm aiming to get my pension pot to £100k before I'm 50, which means investing about £8-10k per year), I'm also going to invest into my websites and see if I can increase the income from sponsorships, affiliates and partners up to consistent £10-12k months, I'm also looking at building some SaaS products to earn some extra income from. And the final pot I'm looking to build is my rain day fund, it's not quite 100% where I want it to be but I'd love to one day reinvest that capital into a commercial property and start to earn some income more passively.
I can’t see myself ever stopping coaching John 🤩 I enjoy it too much. I’m hoping they’ll still wheel me out to deliver talks as well!! But I would like more passive income by then, and I’d like to focus more on my writing as I get older.

Great video Robin. Interesting the idea of cost neutral book marketing.

Very transparent and great to see. When income increases next year, will you invest more money into your outgoings? What would you invest it into?

I love real estate, such exciting future goals!
@@RobinMWaite very insightful! Once you have hit your pension goal, do you think you will ‘slow down’ or continue building further assets up?

@@RobinMWaite very cool! It would be great to know where you feel is the best routes to begin to bring in passive income 😁
