We explore an abandoned Train yard

- The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway is a volunteer operated heritage railway in Gloucestershire and Worcestershire offering a round trip of 28 miles. It uses part of the route of the former Great Western Railway's main line from Birmingham to Cheltenham which used to run via Stratford-upon-Avon.
It now operates steam and heritage diesel trains between Cheltenham Racecourse and Broadway through some of the most spectacular scenery in the Cotswolds. The line commands wonderful views of the nearby sleepy hamlets and villages, with outstanding outlooks across to the Malvern Hills and beyond.
On the lower part of the line is part of the disused tunnel which used to run down to Cheltenham. Here are a selection of abandoned carts which some date back as early as 1947!! - Розваги
Really enjoy videos like this, especially about railroads;just make sure you and your lady play it safe!
When you shone your torch down that drain just next to it was a short length of rail from Brunel`s broad gauge track. Well over 100 years old.
Or was it a short length of modern bridge rail?
Awesome exploration!
Here in the States, we have railroad equipment, no longer being used, just sitting around. These and yours, should be recycled into new rolling stock. Some work trains, had a crane and a flat car, along with other
M of W cars. Sometimes, the flat car looked like a caboose, with a long front. Not sure how much these are used now.
Nice video.
They must be awaiting to be restored. And there was some air baked wagons
Most of those wagons have probably been on the GWSR since they took over the line in 1981 and moved there not long after the line reopened to Cheltenham Racecourse in 2003.
Dude your channel is gonna boom. Some good content 🤙
I love trains & Its videos. Good Job. Next time Go in pants, full sleeves, Cap N Hand Gloves. Don't get hurt. Use head gear with flashlight to free hands. Broad (British Gauge) We have Broad Gauge Double Line with overhead traction on all Trunk Routes in India. Meter gauge converted to broad. These Goods Trains with vacuum Brakes (Westinghouse) are still in used in India on old stock. Changing fast to Anti Lock Brakes. Now using Mostly 8 Wheelers and dedicated Freight Corridor Double Line with overhead Traction. When Kid play around Goods Train Yard. It was FUN.
I think there is a big problem with a shortage of volunteers for these preserved lines for them to get in this state, when i worked for British Rail 1974 to 1992 i wandered all over the place, BTP Police once caught me but when i showed my ID they let me go, Bletchley Depot...
and can we have some more views of Tilly? My ex had a cat called Tilly. RIP
WoW!
Good to see you didn't touch anything...some of shit looked ready to collapse.many tonnes of Steele and iron on top of you wouldn't be much fun...
i went there recently and most of the trains have been moved from the cave more down the bottom near the racecourse trains and there's people checking down there most of the time I've been down there so anyone that goes now just watch out as the guy that seen me and my mates he started to walk down to us and blocked the way that he went down in this video so we was blocked down there and we had to jump on the train and jump down over and we needed to go through nettles and we had to tear in the mud and get our self's out
This must be old as I was there today and the tunnel is fenced off
Same man, is there a way round
Imhotep , yes back up above the tunnel through the feild and left not another field nd then the hedge is all pushed down in the middle and it’s down below there in the cut
It ain't closed... Its a preservation line. G&WR
@@bluebellModelrailway i went down there recently and it aint closed off anymore and most of the trains have been moved down near the proper train tracks and loads of thing have changed
It looks like one of those trains is a breakdown set, judging by the crane & low loader. Is there any chance of that stretch of line being reconnected & reused?
Find your videos very interesting particularly this 1 having worked on manufacturing of Rolling stock, where.do you find all these hundreds of places to visit and explore .
Amazing! Imagine hearing the sound of a loco starting up when you're in the middle of the tunnel... 😅
Hunting Butts Tunnel on the GWSR. What are their plans for this stock?
it all depends on space like for example the winchcombe workshop can handle about 5 veichles in the workshop at any one time so all depends on money, volunteers and space in the workshop
The equipment is so old even the graffiti is getting worn away by the rust which doesn't seem to care what it was originally! :D I don't think there's much chance any of this equipment could even move without overhauling pretty much all of it's bearings and couplings and brake systems!
A YEAR IS NOT A DATE, BUT AN ERA, A DATE IS JUST ONE DAY AS THE OXFORD AND OTHER ENGLISH DICTIONARIES STATE.
Why do railroads let these cars sit, the steel should be recycled. I've never gotten why they let these just sit.
It's probably not worth the cost of the labor and equipment needed to move rolling stock in such derelict condition, anyway! There would be a heap of safety officials all over trying to move this ancient rusting rolling stock just 2 inches!
With the price of scrap being low it's cheaper just to leave them be until the price goes up.
I would have enjoyed it. IF I COULD HAVE HEARD A WORD YOU WERE SAYING!
Next time I bet she won't go hiking in a flowing dress.
Why would you wear a dress hiking ?you are setting yourself up for all types of cuts and bruises safety frost.
For the boys ;)

1700's.. a little early don't you think?
back in the 1700's????
ANOTHER VIDEO, WELL THIS IS THE FIRST OF YOUR VIDEOS THAT I HAVE SEEN THAT APPEARED ON FRID 2 JUN 202O ON YOU TUBE & I WAS TOTALLY OBLIVIOUS OF YOUR VIDEOS BEFORE TODAY,SO WHERE THE HECK WERE THEY !!, CERTAINLY NOT ON YOU TUBE !!!.
I've been here
The trains are not there anymore and have been moved.
They're not carts there wagons and of course trespassing on railway property is a penalty of £1,000 even though it's a preserved line a bit naughty this one mate
KERNOW E X P it’s worth it and I’m not being rude but do u know if there’s anyone on the site
I can back you up on this. I volunteer up there and its still a £1000 penalty for trespassing on our property.
@@jacobdidcote6617 Seeing as you volunteer there I wonder if I could ask you - if you know - is the railway expanding to Honeybourne next; or is it going further into Town?
@@Sharron-Idol Its a very grey area at the moment. There has been several rumours of it being extended to Prince Of Wales stadium but then also extending to Honeybourne. Would probably be more beneficial to extend to Honeybourne though as it will have a mainline connection. The platform at Honeybourne is there so we would just need to lay track. At the end of the day this is all speculation but it could happen in the near future.
@@jacobdidcote6617 Do you own the property. I mean weather you do or not it wont affect the outcome
You were not alone boost the audio up something's there with you just listen
Scrap yard
What a damned waste of iron - no attempt to recycle. Such is capitalism.
Some of these wagons will be used the G&WR as storage and for maintenance work on the line. Others are there as museum pieces.
