Exactly, and to piggyback on what you said, all the higher level/middle class jobs require post-secondary education. Good jobs in the healthcare field, and any skilled trade requires education past high school.
If a company is paying you to do a "test" or "some work" before offering employment, just know that is their way to get cheap labor out of you and not pay you a full salary and is under no condition to actually hire you full time. Instead, decline it and ask them more sales questions that put the ball back in their court to make them decide faster. "Oh ok great. I'm not able to do this test/work example you want however I do want to ask if there is anything that you currently have doubts about my ability to perform in this role?" Even if they say no, that's better than giving them free/cheap work instead of just committing to hiring immediately. Lastly, when it comes to remote work he's bang on the money about all the opportunities behind closed doors meaning you should be networking to ask about those roles and bring value through conversations so that you don't just have to apply for the jobs. I went to one had an incredible experience and was accepted into a Master's program soon after. Missing college you're also missing out on free services (counseling, food banks, cooking lessons, job fairs, not to mention so many opportunities to try out careers & network).
Your absolutely right! The community colleges are worth going to especially if it’s a local college and transfer to your state college, will keep tuition costs down tremendously. Another avenue is seeking corporations that offer tuition reimbursement. I worked at a large hospital corporation in New York & got my associates & bachelor’s degree by using their tuition reimbursement program. They reimbursed up to $20,000 for your bachelors degree and $20,000 for your masters degree. I don’t have any college debt at all after taking advantage of this benefit. Zero college loans! If there’s a Will there’s a way! 😊
College isn't worth it anymore unfortunately. If you succeed and find a job, then you are now stuck in a corporate culture; paying off massive debts and wanting to quit after 6 months due to burnout. If you fail in finding an adequate job, then you have to apply for forbearance, followed by an income based repayment plan. This typically pushes your initial 10yr plan into a 20+ year plan. People do not have the resources to make extra payments on their debt and they don't even have the resources to save. The average kid graduating from college has to come up with a bare minimum ($63,000) per year in order to make median rent, energy, food, fuel, and student loans payments. That's NOT including savings or fun money. These kids are being turned into indentured servants.

Here in ireland you are better off doing a trade etc as Europe is oversaturated with PhDs in STEM
My job has dropped the college education requirement for management after having to let go a few managers that had college educations and that are incompetent.
This reporting is just scratching the surface of these trends, but not actually digging deep into the cultural movements and WHY these trends are happening. Do you want to know WHY young people don’t want to go to college? WHY 54% want to be influencers? MONEY!!! College puts you in debt for way too long, and influencing is a way to “get rich quick”. If other jobs paid a live-able wage, you’d see that 54% go down. The working class is treading water out here and young people are just trying to figure out how to survive.
So true. I have a bachelor's and master's degree and not even once employers notice that I had it. Not even a complement for the achievement. But at the end of the day is always good to have a degree if you are fortunate to get one. Good luck😊

My prediction for 2024 is that LinkedIn’s job search feature will still be broken and as bad as it is now.
1:37 a glorified associate level job!
Yes !! Job seekers should earn something for their time.
There are smart people who choose not to get into debt. Employers are finally figuring this out.
this was absolutely no BS interview straight to the point thanks!
We need less influencers
No matter what, higher learning is important. Please stop discouraging people from pursuing a college degree
I've a STEM degree and its a waste. I would have been better off being a crane driver in construction or a supermarket manager....i still dont earn anywhere nears those jobs and i spent 10 years getting a STEM degree/masters and PhD and been 20 years working in STEM biggest USA company. Here in ireland you are better off doing a trade etc as Europe is oversaturated with PhDs in STEM
My job has dropped the college education requirement for management after having to let go a few managers that had college educations and that are incompetent.
I’m here for the leather pants❤
These tv people sooo out of touch
We don’t need UA-cam creators… we need plumbers, electricians, etc….
Public university is free in Europe. But still gets you low paid jobs
Well said
This is Super Great!!! Thank You!! I Am So Glad I saved to "watch later"!!!100%
These morning hosts are so out of touch with the times and where money is at lol
I would love to pay your bills lol.
Smart!!!! LEARN FROM OUR MISTAKES
So true. I have a bachelor's and master's degree and not even once employers notice that I had it. Not even a complement for the achievement. But at the end of the day is always good to have a degree if you are fortunate to get one. Good luck😊
What do you do now?

Many countries in the world are poor, because, they don' have edu. USA only have about 37% with college edu. This is low and very ashamed.
Europe has 75% people with university degrees as its free
Because a piece of paper is not a job skill, never was never will be. since cell phones videos who need news reporters telling only one side of the story, or just simply choosing to spin a narrative. with cell phones and bloggers, everyone sees and hear what actually happen as it happen. I have never liked Al Roker, and that Graig Melvin is as greasy as they come.
We need tradespeople.
i don't always get impressed in talk videos but this was a good one. they just made sense
I know of a company near me that has been hiring for the same positions for years. Because of the continuous rising prices amongst other things, I guess society thinks they deserve better
Degrees and education is free in Europe. I got paid €65,000 per year to do my PhD
Informative
Times are changing
Well that really make sense to me.
Paying for interivew / work project should be mandatory. Otherwise it's free labor...
What happens 10 years from now when those jobs on linked in that don’t require a degree disappear? Now you find yourself more settled down in life and no degree.
Phenomenal
Man, Horshack has not only not aged, he looks even younger than his "sweathog" days!
I had a job interview (that was a waste of time) but they paid a stipend for making it to the final round.
I’m not surprised with the remote work news. I thought thats how it should be.
I am a Medical doctor who is in Pharmaceuticals. I didnt practice but I love my interactions with doctors when we introduce a new drug. I understand patient care and the language of Medicine. I love my job! and I earn a lot as an associate director of Medical Affairs
We also aren't going to require diversity either - Thank God!
oh god you've had him on the show multiple times? stop
A star software or hardware developer is worth 30-50 normal ones!😊
I miner get new job at amc cinmas Florida
rename every college to Influencer University.
Mrs Jane The Bitcoin Trader is legit and her method works like magic I keep on earning every week with her new strategy.
Wow I' m iust shock someone mentioned expert Mrs Jane thought I'm the only one trading with her
She helped me recover what I lost trying to trade my self.
She's really amazing with her skills..she changed my 0.5btc to 2.1btc
I think I'm blessed because if not I wouldn't have met someone who is as spectacular as expert Mrs Jane,
I think she is the best broker I ever seen.
I still wonder how she gets her analysis, I got profit of $28, 609 with a capital of $4000 in 16 days of trading with her
if everyone wants to be a boss and just talk in talk show, who will be inventor, engineer , scientist, economist...etc. This type of mentality and culture will drive the creativity , productivity and competitiveness down hill.
61%? That's a lot more than 50/50.
Creator Economy = Unemployed 🤣
Al Roker should be let go immediately. He should have been fired years ago. He offers nothing
I hate to be one to bring this up but I know someone that has 3 degrees and is still in the same position sooo do what you feel
Something is going on that is really weird today. Seems management everywhere is narcissistic very abusive. Only a small group of people succeed with this. This started happening right after 9/11
It is nearly impossible to predict the future for the entire economy. A Teenager’s Guide on how to Invest Like Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger is a good book for new investors.
Influencer/s??? 😂
Do you want your children to have college degree ??? YES or NO Why do you want children to downgrade their knowledge ???
EDU is the key to many doors. EDU is the passport to life. EDU helps you improve your knowledge. EDU is neccessary to more this country up and forward.
Less pay, worse benefits, and more hours 😂 work sucks
Where's all the smart people when it comes to the workforce there's a lot of idiots that have no experience bigger places without college degree
Interesting
The way how are things going even though any inflation by that logic should have dropped out of high school along time ago.
The college degree prediction is BS .. but also having dealt with duds with degrees I see the point
You say in LinkedIn, that LLM w AI is all the rage. Ive had mild training, been waiting for a year, & STILL not hired in wn LLM gig! What am I lacking here?
Most say they dont need training, have paid training, need no experience, etc. Is this going to happen in 2024??
Good reporting and minimal unnecessary banter except the middle male anchor hand breaking his son’s hypothetical/potential career choice. Each child grows into an individual wanting their own identity. Your ego’s identity should not be his aspiration.
‘You’ll be flipping 🍔 burgers, for the rest of your life’ 😊 It could happen. For some people.
Sounds great. Especially if they are vegan burgers.
Al roker is disturbing
Not everyone knows mr beast
Or cares who he is
LAYOFFS
Woke nonsense of a clown show with pods & culture ......its not about getting anything done or accomplished in a timely fashion anymore ....it has become a joke
I hate it here
Funny how the "influencers" on TV getting paid millions of dollars just can't wrap their head around this creator concept. 🤦
It's called a scam and you've been found out Hahaha It's really funny how the old scam and abuse the young.
Such baloney! Education is the best way to invest in yourself. Just don't get into debt and try to get a degree in a lucrative field. Your degree is always valuable! The higher you go, the more your degree matters.😏
