Spencer has accomplished a lot, but more so, he has educated himself and become such a wealth of knowledge through self-taught, trial and error, but more importantly knowing how to correct the mistakes with quality repairs, not just a slap together half-hearted fix. You all are so blessed to have each other and have such a great working relationship. I still can't get over how fast the children are growing, they are so BEAUTIFUL!!! I felt so bad for Spencer when he realized his mistake in the cutout. But I was happy to see that he didn't beat himself up about it like he used to. He simply figured out how to fix it and then moved on. Good for him. And I laughed when Mackenzie teased him that the cutout for the door wouldn't be as hard since it already had been partially cut and then looked back at the camera with a big old smile. Too funny.

I'm guessing that maybe the otters like the pond now that you've aerated it and it's cleaner. Well done. When McKenzie first hinted at some new life form in the pond, and mentioned water moccasins, I thought that it might be something like an alligator, so I heaved a sigh of relief when she said it was an otter.

The otters love the pond because it is full of fish. Once they wipe it out, they will go back to the creek and look for another tank full of fish along the creek. They are cute, but also detrimental to stocked fishing ponds.

I think we actually benefit by seeing a video like this instead of one that everything is 100% perfect all the time! Simply because most of us are going to make mistakes and learning how to fix them is really valuable.
Loved seeing the otters in your pond! Their high energy and playfulness is captivating!
Can't believe how fast your children are growing!! Just doesn't seem possible!
Your place is beautiful, but I would personally have a real problem with the poisonous snakes. You deal with them easily, but there are just to many of them for this old gal. 23 years of living in an area where there are NO poisonous snakes has spoiled me!

If you but yellow sulfer all around the pond and all around your fence line they will not cross over it, it burns there belly they will turn and go back. It doesn't smell to good around the place but they won't come into your yard or area you but it around. We did this for years on the farm. Also helps with mosquito's and other bugs the smell don't hang around to long. If you have a lot of rain you might need to but it out every couple months but in dry weather may every 4 months. I had rather have the silver smell than the Poison smacked around, it doesn't hurt the snake just keeps them away! Love you guys! God bless you guys and the babies

Spencer has far more patience than me. If I had made that mistake there would have been a lot of bleeping in the soundtrack of the video and some Olympic hammer throw quality tool launches. Keep up the good work Spencer.

My sister and her husband live in a beach house on the Puget Sound. A few years ago a family of sea otters chose their deck to live under. They have raised several kits and they play on their deck at night before going out to forage for food. When it snows their tracks are on the deck when my sister gets up in the morning.
I suggest setting up a camera to capture them should they decide to stay. It would be a good learning experience for your family. I enjoy getting pictures from my sister of the otters as they play on her deck.

This is fun having another build channel. That's most of what you've done so far and people love it. I hope we'll see some family vlog style episodes too. There's lots of successful channels doing that with the main criteria being charisma which y'all both have in spades.

I like how you are using the cargo bars to help keep the frames in place. Very ingenious. Mistakes are part of any job or container home. You acknowledge it, fix it and move onto the next window or door. You two work very well together. Stay safe.

Building under the metric system is a dream compared to the imperial system. Believe me, I have worked with both systems. All precise measurements are in millimetres, that’s a bit over 1/32 of an inch. Certainly buying a 1200 x 2400 sheet of wallboard seems like a lot of numbers but you get used to it.
Metrication in Australia kicked off with decimalisation of our currency in 1966. It wasn’t until 1988 that the last legal imperial measurement was abandoned. The history of the changes is an interesting mix of industries deciding to change and changes by legislation.
Some references to the old imperial systems remain. You can still buy measuring tapes marked in both systems. Longer lengths of timber are sold in increments of 0.3m or about one foot. And proud parents sometimes refer to their newborn’s weight in pounds and answers.
Bottom line: Metrication proceeded slowly, carefully and was generally welcomed. Some were initially sceptical. Sitting behind two older women on a bus in Sydney I overheard: “What do you think of this new decimal currency?” To which was answered: “Oh, it’s a bit too fiddly. I don’t think it will last.”

On top of an awesome mistake fix by Spencer, and Bear's birthday party, you got otters in the pond! What a treat to watch! (Oh, and yeah - metric rocks. I grew up with it in Scandinavia and to this day, Imperial sets my teeth on edge.)

Oh that is so wonderful that you fixed the 3window opening and then put the door frame next to it and Spencer you are so great at your welding skills that once it is painted you won't notice it, and it will look so great. Happy birthday to your sweet fur baby and so cute to see those otters swimming in your pond, I bet they like that the pond is so much cleaner and they can really enjoy it so much more now. Thanks for another great video, stay safe and happy, sending love and hugs, bye!! 😂😍👍👋💜💜💜💓

Your family is so lovely. It is nice to see little bits of them here and there. Have you ever considered doing your weekly video regarding the build and maybe an extra with more just general living on the property, etc. More of a vlog? I know I'd tune in for each and every episode, but I also realize you have a huge project underway and two small, precious children. I just thought I'd let you know that I believe we'd all love to see more of you!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and anyone else who reads this. I wish everyone the very best this Season and a wonderful, healthy 2023 (boy it feels weird typing that number!).

Awesome video as always. Watching gives me great pleasure seeing such wonderful people achieve things they obviously love doing. Can't wait to see the final results of the new guest house. I'm watching from my hospital bed recovering and receiving chemo treatment. Hoping that I can live long enough to see my son grow up and have a family of his own. Our son at 13 is great and does all he can to support his mum while I go through everything. He makes me proud that he has family at front of mind and puts in the effort to ensure things get done if I'm having a bad day.
Take care of what you have and enjoy life we only get one run around the roundabout it's worth the effort to make things happen as you want.

I was brought up under the imperial measurement system, but then my country (NZ) went metric and, suddenly, it was so freakin' easy! if you use metrics then errors like this just .... don't happen! Feel for you, matey ...
