As the story goes, Righini’s family owned a scrap yard that, in cooperation with the Italian government during World War II, was used to tear down “obsolete” vehicles for their raw materials. Fortunately, Righini’s family had to foresight to recognize that not all cars are created equal and they kept the significant vehicles that passed through their scrap yard. yes i looked it up
Bob + Thank you! That's awesome! I was wondering how the collection came to be. That also explains why theres no Mercedes Benz in the collection. The kept only the Italian cars. Heritage...
I couldn't stop saying "WoW" through the whole video. What an amazing collection of some of the finest Italian automobiles ever made from the golden age of Italian automobike manufacturing
This isn't a car video, this is art. The beautiful sound of a piano going along with all the beautiful curves of those handcrafted machines, even though they are standing there, its like they each have a soul that awaits to see the dawn, they carry their time and they show the marvel of human engineering, in a word, a masterpiece.....
The only shame about this video is that its only 2 minutes long... This being said, this collection is simply perfection. Though it is quite a shame to see soo many cars rotting away in a garage instead of being used on a routine basis.
Even though they are not maintained or showcased as some of world's major museum collections, I think they are trying to keep all the Cars in their original state. All of them had original paints on them, at least i think. Love em all.
European car collectors do drive there cars, if the cars have scratches, bad paint/ chrome is not a big deal but they are top notch when it comes to the mechanical parts
I've watched this about 5 times now. bless that family for saving those cars. it breaks my Heart to think of all the cars they didn't rescue from the crusher.
Back in 2005, I went looking for this collection in rural Emilia- Romano. I found the building all right, but there was no one there and the place was locked-up tight. My friend and I then went across the road to this delightful little restaurant - out in the middle of nowhere, and had a marvelous lunch. The waiter informed us that the collection was tour-able by appointment only, and no, he didn’t know how to get in touch with the proper authority to set-up such a tour. So finally, almost 20 years later, I get to see the contents of the collection. Thank you Petrolicious!
Thank you Petrolicious for yet another sublime combination of Art. No annoying interviewers, no offset music arrangements and no unnecessary video effects. Just our beloved vehicles and their passionate owners. Greetings from Portugal
ok I need way more than 2 min of that. Fantastic stuff, and so well put together with the right class, music, camera shots, just letting the whole place and the cars do the talking. Excellent as usual Petrolicious, please give us more!
it's all so beautiful and romantic, made my heart warm and my eyes full of joy. funny to see that the only modern car there is an alfa 8c competizione... that place is a history fort and the owner the guardian. i'd be happy to look after those cars for free. cheers to all motoring enthusiasts and car lovers!
1:33 and again at 1:39 - The very first Ferrari car - Auto Avio Costruzioni 815 - the very first car to be fully designed built and raced by Enzo Ferrari after he left Alfa Romeo to start his own team. Legal issues with Alfa Romeo prevented Ferrari from using the Ferrari name for four years. Two 815 raced at the 1940 Brescia Grand Prix, where both entries failed to finish due to engine problems. One of the cars was later scrapped, while the other is currently in the Righini collection in Italy. 1.5L Straiight Eight, 625Kg. - One of two built this is the only surviving original. Ferrari's own museum has to make do with a replica!
Wow, that dusty green two door convertible Alpha parked outside is stunning. Everyone has to die someplace, might as well be in a place like that. More power to the collectors, would if I could.
Please for the love of God tell me your going to do more videos from this place. So many cars to see in more detail!! This is surely a 'teaser trailer' !!!
A lot of ungrateful people here, so there is no commentary and it was prehaps a little too short. and not like the usual petrolicious vids but give them some slack.. Christmas and new year has just passed and I can imagine that one needs to ease into it again. But anyway i thought it was a terrific video. just hope these cars get driven every now and then ;)
Here is from Sports Car Digest: "Please do not think ... the collection is not well attended or appreciated because most are in strong working order and have been wonderfully preserved or restored." Bottom line: Don't be a pessimist until you spend the 30 seconds it takes to search and read about the issue.
I would love to own classic cars to drive. Not happy that they are in lock away. They are true art works that should be shown as what they are not lock up in a room or a museum.
I like how people say these cars should be driven and you have no right to own them unless you do. If you buy it you can do anything you like with them, it's no ones business. Of course these comments usually come from people who don't own any cars, and don't understand what it takes to maintain them.
I'm glad this channel tries different things, the last thing you want is for a show to get formulaic and repetitive. I feel strongly disappointed not to have at least heard some of these cars though.
it's sad to think that all this beauty, perhaps most of it, is bound to just sit there and not see the sunlight again or feel its engine roar to life or grip the tarmac or leave people awestruck. nonetheless, beautiful collection, some cars left me breathless, especially the Alfa Romeo TZ which means a lot to me..
True, but for many them, you have to wonder if the parts exist for them to be able to run again? The AAC 815 in particular, did it ever run after that first Mille Miglia? I don't doubt that it would be very difficult to get it working, since it was very much a hand-made hot-rod to begin with.

@@marvinheemeyer6660 There is actually merc and bmw bro
Bugatti leather, Alfa oil, Tuscany flowers and a hint of Lancia brake fluid.
I wish youtube had smell-o-vision.
It's in Emilia Romagna, not Tuscany

The combination of the music and the spectacular collection makes for such an emotional experience that it brought me to tears... Really!
Wow. Simply wow. What a collection!
The only shame about this video is that its only 2 minutes long...

I saw no rot...im sure the collection is very well maintained

I agreed with you ! it's too short to let us watch these fantastic cars!
I've watched this about 5 times now. bless that family for saving those cars. it breaks my Heart to think of all the cars they didn't rescue from the crusher.
what a great collection, such gorgeous cars, but do they get driven very often? They all look perfect but all crammed in
This is just art.. Pure art... My heart is just so calm, after having watched this video... Thank you, Petrolicious...

I always wondered what happened to it. Now I know.
What is the car that shows up at 1:35?

Wow, amazing location and collection! Great find Petrolicious! Will we be getting more footage from this collection? It's only 2 minutes :(
Wow, that dusty green two door convertible Alpha parked outside is stunning. Everyone has to die someplace, might as well be in a place like that. More power to the collectors, would if I could.
Alpha ? Really ? ...
1:44, that is the legendary Tazio Nuvolari's old Alfa Romeo 8c 2300 Monza

Does anyone know what song that was?
Oh my!
I was wondering where all the zagotos had gone!
Bose de-Nage "Zagato"
Marco Palomba one 'Zagato' , many "Zagatos" ( plural in English)
Yeah, I know plural but you wrote _ZagOtos_ instead of Zagatos, that's all...
😍😍😍😍😍😍 magnifiques Alfa Romeo Forza

whats the rally car at 1:48 ?
Is this a private collection or what?
Its a private collection by Mario Righini.
For those wondering: all the cars rest on their axle's to prevent the tires from getting square
