We are huge Wrexham fans and seeing the red dragon - I called the whole fam in to see it! Wow Tracey, my blood ran cold when that dragon wing slumped! I totally feel your pain and 100% agree that no amount of money can compensate for the feeling in the pit of your stomach when a wedding cake fails! I hope you decide to keep going with the UA-cam channel as I love watching your videos - I never miss them! But I appreciate how time consuming it must be. And one last thing, you should try 'The Sugarpaste'. That is my very favourite brand. It is very stiff and hurts your hands to knead it but what a perfect finish it gives! Looking forward to the next vlog!

When I made cakes, the moving was always a struggle for me and you and Adam are a great team. Congrats on doing a fantastic job on it. Happy belated birthday Tracey ! I can relate so much to that stress lol, might I suggest that next time if you need sugar paste wings, use flower paste. It’s super light ! No glucose which is weighty. I’ve a few recipes and I use it when I need very light weight objects. In fact when you roll it out thinly it’s almost transparent 😃 The cake and dragon looked fabulous though ❤ Hugs 🌸

I hope you don’t stop the videos, I know it’s a lot of work, but even though I don’t make cakes any more I still watch your vlog. Also on a selfish note you are making my daughter’s wedding cake next year and I SO want to see the process on a video - that would be so awesome!! No pressure though you need to do what is best for you. Maybe do them as and when you have time ❤

Wow what a breathtaking cake. Must be so stressful for you but also for Adam as the driver trying to get them there in one piece! I am an amateur cake decorator and the figures on my son’s birthday cake snapped off in just a 10 minute drive so I have no idea how you do all these long journeys 😂❤

No, don’t call it a day! I love your videos, sporadic or not! Delivering cakes is the absolute worst. The last one I delivered was only 45 minutes away but I had to do it by myself. Usually I make my husband drive while I hold onto the cake box with a death grip, but he was unavailable. I don’t think I took a breath until the cake was safely on the table in the venue!

Absolutley no help now but have you ever played with Vietnamese Rice Paper ? think that could make good lightweight wings ? or I have used cake lace, spread out on silicone thinly so it comes out like a full sheet ? that could look quite leathery wing ish lol x Please continue the cake vlogs if you can, I really look forward to seeing you solve your issues and love life !
hahaha it was putting up a fight wasn't it! Yes, I have used it before but cant for the life of me remember which cake I used it for! I remember having to drench it water and colouring and I didn't want it dripping down onto the cake with the dragon already being on there, but good ideas for next time! xx

Can I ask do you add in the cost of your overnight stay when you have to deliver your cakes such a distance?

Oh absolutely, something you've have done many times can still go wrong one way or another!
I do have it stated that an overnight stay may be required for round trips over 6 hours...but if I turn it into a mini-holiday/weekend away then I dont action it, as that's my choice to stay if it makes sense! xx
Another epic cake....love the dragon and all the details on it....the slightly different shade of red made the wings look very good.....but god I was sweating just watching it let alone attempting something like this 😁😁......it would be one very sad day for me if you stopped the UA-cam channel 😔

I totally understand about you thinking about stopping your UA-cam, I hope you don’t, but you have to do what’s right for you. It’s maybe something you could do for the brigade instead as an exclusive? A vlog one week every two months or something like that. Whatever you decide we’ll all support you.

OMG we've all been there, nothing worse than the panic and sick feeling when you don't think you'll be able to fix an issue. For newbies it's especially horrible, just want to cry, but at least when it happens to an experienced decorator , such as yourself, you'll come up with a solution in the end. I don't decorate cakes any longer, but I remember having a similar issue with a Hiccup topper. The Renshaw black paste was so soft, the the wings kept drooping even with Tylose and wires and an overnight dry. I also had a droopy horses head on a topper 😭. People outside the industry really don't get it. Someone once compared cake decorating to a grown-up playing with plasticine... never been so insulted, fuming!!! Love your vlogs, maybe make them shorter so not as much work? BTW love the pink x

Yes....it's actually far more like clay sculpting, and those are considered proper artists! Because its sugar, and cake I think we get taken less seriously :( x
Gosh! If I could ship you the products I sell at the store I work at I would! 😢we’ve had little no price increases with fondant/sugar paste and it’s not changed at all. I use Bakels and it’s been the same pretty much for 10 years, same with Satinice. And our boards over here are covered Masonite which are so sturdy and great for drilling into if you need a structure. If shipping to the uk wasn’t so bloody expensive, I’d send it out to you all!
Awww bless you! Lots of companies have been changing hands here - selling to larger companies or going bust, so lots of uncertainty, products being out of stock, price hikes etc. Just awful.
Yes I'm pretty sure we have masonite boards here, but currently have those awful folds of material on the edges of the boards so would look even uglier trying to get a ribbon on! They do sounds nice and sturdy though and far better for drilling than all that cardboard sawdust everywhere lol xxx
