I'm second year at Passfield I have trouble sleeping and working because of ambient noise when the window is open (can hear vehicles, loud pedestrians, ambulance sirens), and because the walls are super thin which means I can very clearly hear talking from the rooms next door and from the hallway. Have you had any of these issues? Would you say the noise level is relatively lower than this? I am thinking of moving to Bankside next year, mainly for this reason. Thanks
I don’t recall having issues with noise for me at Bankside. But I also am very used to city sounds so I’m not sure if I’m the best person to ask for this! Cuz unless it’s really bad, my brain is rly good at just registering it as white noise😹 Ambulance sirens are everywhere in London, so I’m pretty sure I did hear it at bankside. Walls I think are pretty thin at bankside too so I think recall being able to hear stuff in the rooms next to me, and I could hear when the person in the room next to me opens and closes her door etc. or when they play music when they shower. But like it wasn’t at crazy timings of the day so it didn’t bother me much. The rooms next to me tend to be pretty quiet too. So I think it just depends on how sensitive you are to noise and how noisy the ppl next to you are.
hi Frances. i am an incoming LSE student and considering between rosebery and bankside. are all the single rooms at bankside shared bathrooms? like 2 people to 1 shared bathroom?
Hi! Nope. Not all single rooms are shared bathrooms. It’s either (1) single ensuite - meaning you have your own room and own bathroom, or (2) single shared bathroom - your own room & share ur bathroom with one other person.
