When I saw the revival book cut to everyone cheering for Dream I legitimately almost started crying. Mans just wants his friends back ueueueue

it's kinda how I interpret the thing a bit yeah, he seemed really happy to know people could know about his reviving powers when quackity visited him. it sounded a bit like he wanted to impress people or something like that. It's maybe not the case, as we don't know many things on his actions and all, but it's the way I interpreted it
that's- that's not how it is. mans just wants to get out of prison and take revenge on everyone for putting him there lmao.

@@Kami-krow From what I've heard, Dream doesn't do lore on his account, because then people will start making theories to defend his actions. They already do that by trying to make Puffy a bad mother and saying things like "He's like this because Puffy neglected him."

This is cool. The way you enter into the mind of Dream remembering the past, and Quackity of how he decides to forget the past is a great touch.

YES. I’ve often wondered how villains ended up the way they are. Dream is an interesting villain for me and also my favorite character on the SMP, followed closely by many. But like how did he end up the way he did though?

Ranboo said that Dream is the perfect villain because no one knows his side so they don't feel remorse. But this animation distinguished the smallest facts/hints and turned it into Dream's POV. And now we feel remorse.
I don’t think he felt remorse, considering he killed Tommy and what happpened latest in the prison. I don’t think he is a good guy, but you can totally feel bad for him
@@peripheralzx11 He thought he was doing the right thing, and at the start he was doing the right thing, but he did it the wrong way. For example, he ruled the SMP and then Wilbur just came and decided to make a drug empire and make L'Manberg without Dream knowing. Back then, he was just trying to get his SMP back under control. But he was also the one who escalated the wars. All I'm trying to say is that the Dream who cared for his SMP might be in there, and we can feel remorse for that Dream.

This animatic made me sympathise with him because he doesn’t deserve to be tortured and left in an obsidian box for eternity, but he is totally a bad guy, and all the writing so far suggests we aren’t supposed to sympathise with him (but the animatics always find a way lol)

@VEXX_COSM1C DreamXD is canon! He's canonically a God and directly impacts George's storyline :) He also references to being 'hunted down' which is what happened to c!Dream too, which IMPLIES that Dreamon theory is real and Dream-DreamXD-Dreamon are perhaps connected

Headcanon: dream said he pushed everyone away because he wanted power. But actually everyone was leaving so what he did was pushing them away himself. And when he says Tommy is his friend he actually means it even he manipulates or hurts Tommy. So one of the actual reason Dream cant kill him is, Tommy is the only friend he has and only attachment he has left with.

Dream is a terrible person who intentionally pushed away everyone for power and only doesn't kill tommy because he cares more about potentially regaining control of the server than he does about being locked up in an inescapable prison. He calls tommy his friend to make him think maybe he wasn't imaging their stockholm syndrome-y friendship dream forced him into during exile through intense emotional torture.

It doesn't matter if they are a terrible person or not torture is not okay or justifiable. And the conditions of the prison itself are also extremely questionable. There was a post made on reddit a while ago which went into more detail and I can link it if you want. It explained how the Pandoras Vault breaks multiple UN regulations on how prisons should function.
Dream is a manipulative bastard and he does deserve to be punished but it should be a fair and humane punishment.

I actually do kinda feel sympathy for dream. It seems that he really does care about his friends, no matter what lengths he goes to make sure they're safe. He cut ties with them because he realized that they couldn't be safe if they're close to him. He dethroned George because he realized he would be targeted, since he was elected unfairly. When Tommy asked him what he missed most, he paused, then asked him to leave- as if he is remembering all the good times he and his friends had together, and feels so much regret and longing that it hurt him. He manipulates people to get power- but that's just because he wants to restore peace in the dream smp, with no factions, no threats of death, just a big happy family living together in unity. No matter what he did, i believe he really does have good intentions. Also, he's been alone for so long with only his own toxic emotions, with absolutely no one to come and comfort him... No one deserves this.

this is such an amazing parallel! Quackity also ended up not having a "buddy" or someone he can say he's rlly close with, since his friends started a kingdom without them. And Dream's lack of friends is clearly shown here. So both resort to building up their resources and violence.
Finally, An animatic that sees my point of view, that dream is gettin unreasonably treated. He did fuked up stuff, but he's genuinely trying to be a good person now. I think quackitys the villain this chapter
We’ll see how it unravel in the lore, and even if the dream of my animation isn’t the C!dream in the end, we’ll still enjoy the streams and I still enjoyed doing the animation. So either ways let’s have fun with the dsmp

Samesys I don't like Quakity he is so mean to dream. Dream is not in a good state as it is and Quakity is just marketing it whorse. Also like no joke I wanted to see how me by Times I could watch this and not cry. So far I've watched it about 15 Times and I still cry every time.

K really fuckin wasnt expecting this, the colors, are so fitting with the music, the scenes that are just still, but show so much emotion. Dream being the crowd pleaser, but then no one dancing with him, being alone. Stuck. It shows dreams part of the story, but still showing how hes a villain in some ways too, but showing how he saw it, like he was dancing with everyone, being the light of the room. But in reality, He was the darkness, and terror. And in conclusion, This animatic shows Dedication. All throughout you stuck with that neat style.

I love trgaic villains and I simp so hard for them. Like screw the hero, everyone sees the hero and everything they've lost, but no one ever sees the "villain's side". No one ever looks into how much a "villain" has lost or how far they have fallen. no one looks to see what went wrong, what drove them to the edge. they're only a villain becasue society makes them so. nothing is black and white, nothing is as simple as good versus evil. Dream's charecter is just living proof of this.
that's why i love c!Quackity, and this is why I *sometimes* get c!Dream apologists (unless its those people who say like "bUt wHat iF hE iS bEinG cOntRoLLeD aNd hE neVeR mEanT tO dO thOse aNd nOw he LoSt hiS fRiEnDs"). Because I can see properly Quackity's point of view, and i feel bad for him. He wanted to be finally liked, he thought that book can give him it, but instead of just reviving people's dearest friends and family he took the bloody way by eliminating this ones that have a lot of friends. Maybe he thought that then everybody is gonna like him and praise him because of reviving those he killed.

Theory: The only reason dream (probably) hasn't gave quackity the knowledge of the revive book yet is because he doesn't want to be lonely. If he gave him the knowledge of the book, he would be lonely, forever. He wanted to see quackity, not leave.

@@grassblock7668 From what I remember, Techno can actually help Dream get better. An example of him helping (even if he doesn't realize it) is when Dream threatened to hurt himself using the lava. Instead of overreacting, Techno downplayed it and it helped snap Dream out of his thoughts

I've always appreciated dream as a villan because a good story needs a good villan, and this definitely just makes me love him more and I feel so bad for him because he had good reasons but not a good way of going about his wants. This animatic is stunning!!!

I know the decisions Dream made were not the best but I feel pity for him. His only friends on the server either visited and said things that hurt or didn’t even visit at all. And I just have a hunch that this isn’t the real dream behind the mask I bet someone is confusing/controlling him like what he is doing to Ranboo. I just feel remorse for him and Quackity they didn’t have to go through all this pain.

This gives me different vibes. Instead of the lore, imagine you used to be all friends best friends. All five of you, but then two started fighting each other and then it's just the three of you. This is why i always fear the future
My best friend and I have a theory that Dream isn't Dream and has either been possessed or replaced by something else. But this was amazing making us see his side. He just wanted the server to come together again but he went to extremes and it left him with no one. He just wants to be needed and wanted like everyone else.
I have a similar theory which actually ties to his mask/DreamXD
It's like the mask is a way for DreamXD to control Dream and have some sort of secretive power but idk it's just a headcanon

@@brumous9364 I actually believe it will be canon. It would explain Dream’s manipulative tactics and personality. It would explain why the inbetween had the smiley face being that DreamXD could go there. Why DreamXD takes Dream’s form and it’s attachment to George.
Why DreamXD said to George, “George it’s me Dream!” And then flip back to, “Oh and he’s gone.”
It would also explain how Dream’s armor ties back to Tubbo having those messages sent to him. Like “Help.” “I’m trapped.”
I think it happened shortly after the whole Dreamon arc with Tubbo and Fundy.
Or the revival book comes with a cost.

This animatic really showcases how dangerous it can be to isolate someone. Everyone dream was close to pushed him away and used him. They hated that dream cut Tommy off from the world but now they do the same to him. Funny how that works. It's easy to drive yourself crazy when everyone you thought you loved turned their back on you. All he originally wanted was for the dream SMP to be united as one big happy family.
I think in a way dream was trying to show this to Tommy with his exile. That even when you're gone your friends won't miss you or care that you aren't there. He wanted Tommy to understand the same pain he went through but also protect Tommy from going through that same pain. He took Tommy away from his "friends" before his friends could turn on him and destroy him.
That’s an interesting point of view yeah, honestly we don’t have much on why he did some stuff and all. It doesn’t excuse some of it, but still makes us understand the actions behind it. I also kinda want him to have a redemption arc, even tho it won’t probably happen right after he’ll get out of prison and all, but I still hope it’ll happen
@@Kami-krow yeah I also wish for a redemption arc. I mean he did bad things but they all have in their own right. I think dream honestly planned to go to prison. I think he is waiting for the day they are forced to ask for his help. In the mean time he works on his own agenda. I look forward to seeing where dreams character will go. I'd also be interested in his back story being explained in Tales.

As soon as Tommy joined Tommy caused chaos killed his friend then getting banned and in the disc war he was lied to and scammed therefore putting lest trust in Tommy
Why would dream attack a country that wanted independence he never trusted Tommy that's why he needed to break Tommy to control Tommy he was the problem so that's why he valued what he couldn't control because he just doesn't have trust for whatever Tommy does

In response i searched THIS EXACT animation and started playing it only for me to stop when from behind me she shouts "Oh my god! This is the best animatic ever, I love this one" which we both we're shocked the other knew it especially since she dosent watch many animatics

He has gotten way more evil over the time, but I truely do believe what Quackity is doing to him won’t help Dream at all.
If Dream escapes somehow, I do believe he is going to be way more violent and vengeful than before (Do to all the torture). Quackity is going to be up there on his list.

true true, this dream isn't really entirely canon tbh, more of an interpretation for the song. For me I always had a neutral view on dream's canon character and like there was maybe more to it, I also kinda felt bad for him after quackity's stream, but yeah, maybe I'll make another animation later on to show his evil side more ;)
