I missed my mum that she passed away two years ago but I forgot to get her puligi recipe off her both steam and the umu baking. She always baked puligi every Xmas, New Year and big events back home in Samoa. I always loved her baking. Now I could imagine the aroma coming out from her puligi when seeing these videos. I will try some of these puligi recipes on YT.

Bless your mum for leaving you with so many wonderful memories! I know with her watching over you, you will make some delicious puligi just like she did!🥰

I don't know what was more entertaining, you making the puligi or you singing?! We hit the road with this act - "Palagi, Puligi Performance". Good on you uso. I have not seen someone steam a puligi in a wrapped cloth for a very long time. So kudos to you, sir! It came out great! The texture and density is all preference. It's the taste that counts! And Eseta looks like she was taken to a childhood memory/happy place. These are my favourite reasons for enjoying these dishes. It takes me back to the days of old when life had no worries and you were surrounded by family, including your parents. Oh, how this makes me miss my parents! You have embraced another faa-Samoa characteristic or ability. Making those more profound connections with family and kinship. These are priceless. One day, your children will experience smells and tastes that remind them of your cooking and the happy times around your table. Thanks for sharing this awesome video with us uso. Stay blessed.

My Uso....I just subscribed to your channel, even though you don't have a single video.....
*I had to* ...... you really touched my heart with this post my friend and made me really remember what is important about this channel. It is not subscribers, not likes, not any monetary rewards....it is what you said about my Children. At this moment in time, I am just that guy that tells them to pick up the mess in their room, to finish their homework, buy them what they need (and too much of what they just want as well).
Someday though, when they are older...I hope they remember how much I loved them and tried to be the best dad that I could. Not perfect in many ways, but always loving them, and not letting a day go by that I don't tell them "I love you". Glad you liked the Video Ray. I am so happy that my wife found the old recipes written so long ago. I had never even heard or thought that you could cook pudding in boiling water... Let alone create something edible out of that.... Simply amazing what the people of Samoa discovered on their own to feed and take care of their families. *God Bless Uso! Thank you for making my night!*

Hi Family, I’ve never seen puligi boiled like that before. If my mother didn’t have dementia I would ask her. But I believe Eseta, and I think you made a lovely delicious puligi & homemade custard too. Siaosi wanted to help you but he saw that you had your beautiful wife to help you. Eseta’s camera skills is good too. If that was me holding the camera for my husband, it wouldn’t be that steady 😅
Fa’afetai lava Tama Palagi & Teine Samoa.. Seki a 😃🤙🏼
Plus your singing and hearing the beautiful Marina Davis in the back ground was O for Awesome 👏🏼😊

Thank you Faye! Yes, I am not sure this is the correct translation; but Eseta said that "Puligi Saka" actually means; "Boiled pudding" in English (don't blame me if she is wrong)! 🤣🤣
Yes, love the Poly music; Playing lightly in the background makes all the difference! I never get copyrighted either, because the music is so faint, and we keep talking over it!🤣 To be honest, Eseta used to listen to Poly music like once a year maybe. BUT, since we started this channel, she listens to it almost everyday....so if one good thing comes from our channel, it is that!!! MUCH LOVE FAYE! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

As far as the Puligi, I had forgotten the name of it when we had tried yours (which was better than mine by my memory LOL), and if you watched that video, you will remember that neither of us knew what was even inside of Puligi!! So glad she found 3 recipes from her Nana!
One was for puligi made with cloth, the second was for a Fa'i bread, and the last one was for a .... (Hope we translated this right)....but we think the last recipe is for a "Big Tree Bat"???? Not sure about the big bat, but I don't think I will find that at the grocery store! 😋😋 Have you ever heard of that??
Thank you so much for taking a moment out of your busy day to comment, we appreciate hearing from you! Looking forward to your Aiga's next adventure for sure! *God Bless all of you forever and ever!* 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

I did that song just for anyone that thought that my singing was 'not my voice'.🤣 I figured if I sang "on camera", they could see that it was actually my voice. I am a pretty good mimic, and used to do impressions of famous people when I was a little kid. I guess doing that made it so I could change my singing voice as well. 🤣 I am not sure if that cloth was 'muzlin' cloth or not. We just went to a fabric store and asked for a thin, but closely knit fabric. I am just glad it turned out okay...I would have never thought in my life you could "boil pudding in water"!!
