I have 4 cameras and IF it stays connected to wifi and doesn't tell me it's offline constantly it is a useless camera. I have an SD in each one of my 4 cameras and not one of the cameras allows me to see what was recorded but only to watch a live view. Who has time to sit and watch live feed all night?? Switching back and forth between cameras because i was not going to PAY to watch live feed of multiple cameras, is SÒOOOO SLOW uploading and connecting to cameras. Like I said it's constantly not connected to wifi or "offline" and it takes a rigorous process of resetting the camera and Most of the time I can't get it back online without leaving it power free for days. These are the WORST cameras, the absolute worst I have ever encountered. I read so many mixed reviews and did so much reasearch and now I understand why peaople let bad reviews.i can understand having one camera being a dud but ALL 4 of my cameras are duds and the "YI HOME" system is sad at best.. Save your money and buy something else. Daytime camera footage is nice but as soon as the sun goes down expect to see nothing but shadows unless you have outside lighting already set up.
Sorry you are having bad experience. just to let you know, i don't work for Yi camera nor get paid by them. but i've been using Yi camera for many years now and i've played with many other cameras, and it is most stable cameras.

Wait Cody he didn't tell you they will lock the cameras after a few weeks then you have to subscribe to the cloud account the company provides. You can use a different one but it sounds like people are having a difficult time connecting the camera to the other cloud account.. I wouldnt buy I'm sorry I did

Hi. I purchased 4 cameras and they won’t let me use them unless I buy their cloud services. The app won’t let me proceed without cloud purchase which I signed up for one camera. Is there a way I don’t have to do that for every camera?

Connections are very mess, cables are too much visible and someone can unplug them
i do see some connection issue but not as much... it doesn't bother me too much.. having a good Wifi router and fast internet helps a lot.

I bought a 4 camera bundle but it only lets me connect 1 camera. I have to subscribe to the cloud to connect more cameras. Am I doing something wrong? Can I setup all 4 cameras without cloud service?
you dont need cloud service to make it work. you need to active the camera one at a time.
I bought a twin pack but they will be used by 2 different people (single camera is unavailable right now) do both cameras have to be used together or can I give one to my friend and another to my sister since they both want cameras for their homes. Two completely different people, houses and accts. Not sure since its a twin pack that both need to be under the same account
Each camera is independent camera. So your friend can use it in his home. It will have different wifi.

the SDcard writes over it when it's full automatically. so it depends on how big is your SDcard and how much your camera is recording. if you want to save your video for long time, you might want to subscribe to cloud storage.

make sure your wifi is 2Ghz connection not 5Ghz. 5G don't work.

Loco Local cloud is just an option. You can use it without paying for cloud. I never had to pay for it.

i am sure good hack can. but it is difficult. make sure your wifi is secure and you have hard password for your camera app.

no 5 Ghz connection support is a non-starter. Full stop.
i played many other home wifi cameras and none of them supports 5Ghz connection. because the range is narrow on 5Ghz then 2Ghz, so you'll get very unstable connection if the camera is far way from the router.
@@SamsCube I live in a city where properties are tiny. It is impossible to get too far from the router.
That said, I realized that my router will automatically connect to devices at their preferred connection rate, so I can use these cameras after all. I was worried I'd have to manually force the connection by entering into set up.

the camera is indoor camera. the cameras i have outside are under the shelter so it isn't expose to rain.

I don't have a smart phone but do have wi-fi and laptops w/o touch screens. Will it work with these?
it is easier with your smartphone app. but it will still work with PC app. you can still add camera using your PC app. but having smartphone app will work best because the camera will alert your phone if something is going on at home when you are not home.
so, if the camera is not plugged they don't record? it requires a lot of wiring...
the camera needs power to function. if you don't plug in the power, it won't work at all.
How long can you save the recording for? It delete It self per day or save all the time?
depends on size of SD card. videos will continue to record until it runs out. then it will automatically delete the video and write over again.

do you have 5G wifi? i don't think the camera is 5G compatiable. you need to use 2G wifi. be sure to check that first.

It's not bad. Only issue. U get 6 sec preview but to watch full video you must pay monthly for cloud. Even if u got a SD card it won't let u scrub back to watch any movements 🤔 keeps snapping back to the current time or live feed. Its frustrating
it seems like to me your videos are getting erased on you SDCard because it is not big enough. i have 32GB card and i can go back about a week. you can try to get bigger SDCard. i have no problem watching full video from my 6 sec preview for about a week.

It’s funny because the cameras say WIRELESS. What’s the point of having 10ft of power cables if they’re wireless? I want to buy these but I want the freedom of setting them up without worrying about a power supply.
there some completely wireless cameras out there. they are bit bigger and has batteries built in. bit more expensive. but the problem is that the battery needs to be re-charged eventually. it is lots of pain in the butt to charge them periodically. some times you forget and camera soon shuts down. if the camera is powered by electricity, no need for charging. you set it up and never touch again.

no. 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz and two frequencies that wifi uses. 2.4Ghz is the normal widely used frequency.

have you try to take out the SDcard out of the camera and see whats inside the card? if you haven't manually format the SDcard, all the videos should be there.

Thanks Sam, that is what I was hoping would be the case , but nothing was recorded. How could I troubleshoot this. The SD card is working fine , tested it in my laptop.
Neil Carrick the camera only records when it detects motions. So be sure to turn on the motion detection option ON in the option menu.
Advertised as wireless but if it has to be plugged in it's not wireless

when its says wireless, it is always talking about data transmitting. the video data is transmitted through via wifi connection. power is always separate issue. if you want wireless power, you are talking about battery powered cameras, which can be pretty expensive. and You have constantly replace the battery or charge it. it can be pain in the butt.
How did you mount the cameras to the wall?
You can use two ways. Use the screws or use the sticky pad. It explains int the video of you watch it all the way through.

5Ggz applies to your wifi router setting at home. almost all the home router has option to do both 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz at the same time. does that make sense to you?

no. it only records when there is motion. this way, you get record more videos and keep it longer in your SDcard

no. just download the app and register (free). cloud storage is always optional.

USB power cable isn't very long. it is around 5-6 fts long. so you need extension cable for sure.
Sam can you upload the full video stream to Yi Cloud too assuming you subscribe for this. Let's say I need looped for 7 days - full video. I assume the full video is on the SD card by default. Thanks
yes. all the videos are recorded in your SDcard by default. when the SDcard is full, it will erase it automatically and record over. so it all depends how big is your SDcard and how much you are recording. if you subscribe to cloud service, it will copy the video from your SDcard to your cloud and do the same according to what kind of service you subscribe to.

Do the cameras only record when there’s motion or do they have a always recording option?
They have a record facility all the time when a SD card is installed. They also record all the time to the cloud, however, that is a subscription based service. If the camera is stolen, then you'll lose the footage. You can put on motion detection for an indoor camera without the SD card and when you get an alert on your phone, you can record the footage on your phone. I have four of these cameras and they're good. I have one watching my car through the window and it has a SD card in recording constantly. The indoor one I didn't bother with the SD card as if they're in your home, they'll take the camera anyway. The other two cameras aren't set up yet.

no alarm, but there is two-way communication. so you can talk to yell at the intruders.

maybe this is new feature on new version of the camera. the one that i have don't have that feature.
