What a clever idea. Again a perfect example of how u think outside the box. Instead of doing what everyone else does, cost be damned, u put the care and time into the true meaning of what a home means to u guys. It’s perfect in that it fits exactly what u represent-Honest, simple and responsible people.
Man, I was just looking at your channel and realized I've been watching your family grow for nearly 6 years. It feels like it's only been 2 max. Time flies! The house is looking amazing. I wish I was as handy as you guys.
Using the left-over material to make that lap siding, what a great cost-saving idea! That does break up the look along the gable top. I wouldn't've even thought to do that, but really fits in with the porch.
That house is coming to be something so beautiful and different from when you found it. So far looks great I can’t wait to see what you do with the skirting around the bottom and to see what color you paint it.
I’d love to know what your neighbours think of your transformed domiciles both here and at your other property.I’d love to have you as neighbours. You have made your houses absolutely beautiful. When I think of your soggy ground and the loads of fill you put on it and what a great solution it has proven to be . All the other obstacles you have overcome along the way ,not least your recognizing the need to move from physically debilitating freezing winters to warmer climes . That’s a huge decision and takes courage. Your little family inspires so many of us with your doings and your relationships together.
regarding the caulking: you think of everything even the little critters that you want to keep OUT. You two amaze me again and again. Your 'siding idea' turning out just beautiful. smart !
I really like the look, works very well with the bottom. What a great way to use up scraps and save a few $$. Can't go wrong with ship lap, plus it's weather and bug resistant. Very nice & nicely done! Move that bus - ha ha ha! OK, ready for the surprise color...
Wow…the front of the house looks absolutely amazing!! The lines are so clean and crisp…your ideas and the way you carried them out, is almost unbelievable!! You are sooo creative!!!
Wow! What a transformation already! It looks like new construction! I know it's just primer, but I actually think I like the tan color. It goes well with the black windows, white roof and green door. Hugs 💞
You always do such a professional job. My husband is always so impressed (as am I). That was a great idea 💡 I love seeing people using up scraps and repurposing items. You are good at that. My favorite was reusing that big cabinet to store your tools - genius.
Oh gosh that side of your house looks so incredible, I really like how you finished it. You are such a great team, have a great rest of your day, sending love and hugs, bye!! 😂🤣🤣💕💕💜💜💜💜
Doug and Eevee! Just looking at your house reminds me of all the hard work you have devoted to this family home project. It’s coming along so nicely and it looks great! 👍
Leave a thumbs up! 👍 It looks great! You could make your own shake siding out of the scraps too. I like how you did it better though! Less cracks and clean lines.
Just wonderful to watch the progress on this house. Sure would have liked to have seen what you guys could have done with that schoolhouse. You’re such a talented family.
I was wondering if you were going to use lap to finish the top, but converting the leftover siding into lap was the best idea yet. What I call a win-win situation
Great great Job Doug and Ashley, team work and an Eye for your details in your work . Such a good journey on these homes you have done and watching the mobile home enjoy the evening
It was a smart choice to switch to horizontal siding pieces above the sheets of siding. It gives the house a better appearance than if you had continued with the sheets of siding.
I could hear a collective sigh of relief from your neighbors when the bus moved. The house and prioperty have come a long way since your arrival. It's nice that FL makes year 'round interior and exterior work possible as long as you can tolerate late spring to early fall temps and humidity.
It's so nice to get an upload everyday! It looks great! Last night I decided to watch some of your older videos that I've never seen. The first one I chose was the walk through of this house right after you bought it. It's amazing how far you've come on this project in such a short time -- the video date said 3 years ago. UA-cam is always off on older dates so I don't know. But I'm amazed when comparing the house as it is now, compared to when you first bought it. I also watched the video of the finished product of Belle's previous bedroom in your other house. It was darling and so was little Belle! She was so adorable and sweet, and so appreciative of what you guys had done for her. Then I saw one around the same time, same house with adorable, little Maverick! Thank you for taking the time to Chronicle all your projects. You guys have a nice weekend! Take care! Bye HI kids 👋 Bye kids 👋 Enjoy your weekend!
NICE! It’s always great to be able to use material on hand & have it come out so spectacularly! Can’t wait to see your paint color! Another great video! TYTY for sharing! ❤️❤️🙏❤️❤️
I want to thank you so very much for explaining as you go. You help me understand so much about DIY projects & it helps when I have to do something at my house. The siding looks great. I love watching you guys. Great family! God bless you all.
It's always a good idea to seal boards even as high as your peak in hurricane country! When we lived near Auburn, AL, we went through Hurricane Opal. It rained close to horizontally.
I like it when I see other craftsman doing things right. We are a dying breed. Primering the cuts and caulking before the next course are things that rarely get done even though its best practice and mentioned in the install directions and thus going to be code. Keep up that eye for detail.
I like the siding. Utilizing the scraps to create a customized gable was brilliant! I suggested the siiding to friends that are replacing vinyl siding on their home. As I search for a home to purchase I included a basement on my list. If not finished I intend to utilize this siding for interior walls. Better than paneling and no sheetrock dust or mudding necessary. As always I learn so much from Eevee and Doug's channels and I am most appreciative.

The finished job is very classy
Same here wow I go look back to see if I missed any old ones 😂😂
Hi guys
It's really looking nice
Tell Bell and Maverick hi
Take care
Hahahahaha! I could'nt help it, lol!, when you said let's get that bus out of the way , I shouted
"move that bus"! Lol!

Not only does the siding look great, but it's also the thriftiest option. Best of both worlds!
regarding the caulking: you think of everything even the little critters that you want to keep OUT. You two amaze me again and again. Your 'siding idea' turning out just beautiful. smart !
13:05 - Bus driver, move that bus!!! Extreme Home Makeover - DIYfferent Edition. LOL
haha 😆
Goodness Doug, you always come up with such good ideas....it turned out perfect.....hugs
I appreciate that you explain everything you do. Great job guys!
Switching the direction of the siding is such a nice, subtle detail. Well done.
I really like the look, works very well with the bottom. What a great way to use up scraps and save a few $$. Can't go wrong with ship lap, plus it's weather and bug resistant. Very nice & nicely done!
Move that bus - ha ha ha! OK, ready for the surprise color...
That was brilliant lapping the boards. Quite unique and good use of scraps.
Finding use for excess materials feels like it's FREE! It looks amazing!
Doug and Eevee, you and your family would be the best neighbours to have.
We love watching your videos.
"Move that bus!"😄
Looks great
haha, we were thinking the same thing!
Wow…the front of the house looks absolutely amazing!!
The lines are so clean and crisp…your ideas and the way you carried them out, is almost unbelievable!! You are sooo creative!!!
That is great looking horizontal siding. Also, so good using leftover pieces. You guys are awesome.
Hi Eevee & Doug, look’s so nice and the last piece slotted in perfectly.
You did an excellent job fitting those awkward angles at the peak! So impressed Doug!👏👏
Clever idea to use what you already had. Looks nice. Blessings.
Wow! What a transformation already! It looks like new construction! I know it's just primer, but I actually think I like the tan color. It goes well with the black windows, white roof and green door. Hugs 💞
Love the happy smiles after finishing the siding in spite of the rain!😊 Looks good! 😊
Looks so good. Great idea. Also saves money using what you already have. Can't wait until you paint it.
You always do such a professional job. My husband is always so impressed (as am I). That was a great idea 💡 I love seeing people using up scraps and repurposing items. You are good at that. My favorite was reusing that big cabinet to store your tools - genius.
Awesome job Doug! The front of the house looks great! You couldn’t get those pieces any better even if you ordered them.💕
It looks great! What a fantastic way to use scraps. Doug, you have gotten quite masterful at cutting boards to fit those odd angles. 😊
When Doug "called it perfect", it truly is!!! God bless you all!
👋 Doug, you're a genius and thrifty. It looks awesome! 😊
The siding looks great! Love the horizontal at the top contrasting with the vertical on the rest! So exciting to see it getting done!! 👌👍💕
It looks cool, that transition is awesome.
That really looks nice. Good choice, Doug.
That looks really clean and tight. Nice work.
Thanks! We appreciate that.
Oh gosh that side of your house looks so incredible, I really like how you finished it. You are such a great team, have a great rest of your day, sending love and hugs, bye!! 😂🤣🤣💕💕💜💜💜💜
Thank you very much
Looks great! Are you going to but a skirt around the bottom? Looking forward to seeing it painted. 😎
I love the siding! Great idea! Always love saving! Thanks for sharing! Hello Bell and Maverick!
Boy you have gotten cutting those intricate shapes down to perfection. Great job.
Doug and Eevee! Just looking at your house reminds me of all the hard work you have devoted to this family home project. It’s coming along so nicely and it looks great! 👍
❤❤❤. The siding came out great.
No way I would get that angle correct. Great job.
Perfect choice for the finish siding. Well done .
Leave a thumbs up! 👍
It looks great! You could make your own shake siding out of the scraps too. I like how you did it better though! Less cracks and clean lines.
Ashley and Doug so good the look of the finished siding!!!
Waste Not, Want Not! Beautiful use of what could have ended up as material for the scrap heap, bravo!
Looks great!❤
Doug, I would definitely hire you as a builder! You are so through and not wasteful at all! I appreciate that.
That looks absolutely beautiful. I would never have thought of doing it that way. Good on you. God bless.
nicely done. Very impressed. Your family's diligence at completing long projects is inspiring.
Making all those angle cuts would cause my husband to say NO! You are very talented!
Great great Job Doug and Ashley, team work and an Eye for your details in your work . Such a good journey on these homes you have done and watching the mobile home enjoy the evening
That looks fantastic, what a great way to use up your scrap pieces. Good Job!!!
It’s looking beautiful Doug ❤
Thank you!
It was a smart choice to switch to horizontal siding pieces above the sheets of siding. It gives the house a better appearance than if you had continued with the sheets of siding.
I dont have peaks on my house, but I love your ingenuity!
I could hear a collective sigh of relief from your neighbors when the bus moved. The house and prioperty have come a long way since your arrival. It's nice that FL makes year 'round interior and exterior work possible as long as you can tolerate late spring to early fall temps and humidity.
Love the looks of the house! Beautiful job! Much love to everyone! 😊🤗❤
Hi Doug and Eevee! I love the siding on the house! Great job! What a way to use the leftovers!😊❤ Can't wait to see the color you guys choose!
Meticulous work and it looks soprofessional. A pleasure to watch you two work.
Eevee is looking so happy. I am glad you are both doing well.
That looks really good. I love watching your channel for a couple years now and you never disappoint.
Perfect timing!!! Looking good! 👍 Always waiting for more of your home, trailer projects!✨
Looks very nice. You and Eevee did a great job
Great idea to use the left over boards .. waste not want not..The siding looks very nice..
It looks phenomenal!
Good idea using the left over panels. Great job as always Doug.
Beautiful choice!! Love it!! I also love that you are using up the scrap materials.

Excellent!!! Not everyone would have thought of doing that! And it turned out great!!!
Wow that sure looks like nice siding.
Great job as always.
Love to see that smile at the end, made me happy!
Doug - always the perfectionist - it looks great - can't wait to see what paint colour you choose for the house.
I want to thank you so very much for explaining as you go. You help me understand so much about DIY projects & it helps when I have to do something at my house. The siding looks great. I love watching you guys. Great family! God bless you all.
YOU SHOULD BE PROUD OF YOURSELVES. YOU DID A GREAT JOB. ENJOY YOUR HOME.
Finished just in time! The siding looks terrific! Great choice!
Move that bus! Looks great
Great choice, and you already had the leftover siding. Same texture, looks so good. Have blessed day!
That looks fantastic! You finished just in time!
It's always a good idea to seal boards even as high as your peak in hurricane country! When we lived near Auburn, AL, we went through Hurricane Opal. It rained close to horizontally.
That looks amazing! I really want to see your process for how you measure and make all those complex cuts.
You guys always have the greatest ideas and watching you put them into place I love it
Ingenious! A smart way to use up scrap material and the outcome looks wonderful!

the house looks fabulous 🎉❤ the siding !!

Good job it looks adorable, and I do like the color combination too.
Love this channels content, he puts the "A" in craftsmanship.
You did a remarkable job. I am so happy that you are both saving money and using scrap wood that would have ended up in the dumpster!
Good choice transitioning to the lap siding for the tops. Oh yes, rain, you finished just in time.
Wow you all have come a long way on that old but new house
Love watching you guys because you always do your best and always easy going about it all
Very good job! The house is looking great! 🎉🎉
Woot woot! Well done your smiles say job well done 😊 ✅️
Nice job using that recycled siding.
Great job! I'd love to see a before pic - to show what it looked like on that side when you moved in vs how it looks now (or maybe after you paint).
Great idea ❤
I can hardly wait to see the paint colors!
Fabulous finish for that area of the house.
