I really wish I was in a position to buy Happy Hours, right now, I know from watching your videos it's been well taken care of. Still saving for a 408.
Great detailed video... It's crazy how much that pump is compared to a car water pump. MerCruiser parts are a bit cheaper compared to my Yamaha outboards though.
Hi Tom is this the raw water pump used to cool the antifreeze that is contained in the engine? you stated in previous video that the engines were cooled by self contained antifreeze. otherwise good video on repair thanks alk in michigan
@@AlbertKalinin-p2i yes, the raw water pump sucks seawater from the through hull fitting and flows it through the heat exchanger, cooling the antifreeze/coolant. Then the raw water flows through the exhaust elbows to cool the exhaust, through the mufflers and out of the boat.
Stainless Steel Gen 7 Plus Sea Pump for Mercury 350 Mag, 496 Mag / HO, 8.2L Mag and 502 Mag - With Pulley. From Hardin marine. Better and less expensive.
@@JG-wr1sl it’s very tight fit. I honed the old pulley surface a bit with fine sandpaper but was still very tough. The second pump I did I brought the pulley and new pump to a mechanic to have it pressed on. Charged me $100!

Good job! You made it look easy.
Would have been if it wasn’t for the pulley!

Ah the boat life. Gotta love it.
❤❤❤
Been there, done that on a Volvo Penta…not fun but doable!

Ok Tom thanks for the info
I wish you showed pressing on the pulley!

She will be like Brand new for the New owners. There isn’t anything you won’t tackle and repair.
What made getting the pulley back on difficult?

@@AdventuresofHappyOurs Wow... I think Harbor Freight has small presses for around that price or you could probably use a bench vise.
So, to put the pulley back on, it wasn't the reverse procedure using the kit, was it? @@AdventuresofHappyOurs
@mchaves7663 the kit has what’s needed to put it on and off. Maybe it wasn’t robust enough. I’d get a good pulley kit. Not a $10 one next time. Lol
