    Three sisters from Monterrey, MX. They started in 2012. They became The Warning in 2013. Today they are Dany, guitarrist 23, Pau, drummer 21, and Ale, bassist 18.
    In 2022 they did over 100 gigs in North and South America along with Foo fighters, Halestorm, the Pretty Reckless, Three Days Grace, and Guns ‘n Roses. Earlier this year they did four shows with Muse in Mexico and finished 18 shows on the first US leg of their world tour. They then did concerts throughout Europe including opening for Muse five times in the UK and France. Many of these had 30-60 thousand fans in attendance. They recently completed the second leg of their US tour, played at the MTV VMAs, and opened for Guns N’ Roses. They just finished a spectacular tour of South America and are touring Mexico for the rest of 2023. In February of 2024 they will play Shiprock, a rock cruise, and in August 2024 they will play the Wacken Open Air Festival in Germany.
    All three are classically trained pianists and Dany & Ale have played sax in the past. All three sing lead and background vocals; but Dany is the principal singer. They were inspired by the video game Rock Band and two of their songs are available on Rock Band IV. They appeared on the Ellen Show in 2015.
    They are fully bilingual as they attended a bilingual Catholic school in Monterrey, Liceo de Monterrey. But later they all graduated high school through home schooling due to their touring schedule. They attended Berklee College of Music Summer Program in Boston in 2015.
    They started as a cover band. Their cover of Enter Sandman launched their career. They now have 49 original songs in an EP, three albums, two singles, and two unreleased but performed songs. No bad songs. Their newest released single, More, came out May 12th. Two new unreleased songs were debuted this week at their Guadalajara concert. They have a rich collection of live videos, music videos and lyric videos on their channel. There are also vlogs and individual performances. Any video from the August 2022 concert at the Teatro Metropolitan in Mexico City is gold!
    When not performing they are humble down to earth individuals. Dany is a goofball and sweetheart, Pau talks with passion like a machine gun, and Ale is an introvert and a perfectionist.
    When you fall down The Warning rabbit hole, you can’t go back!!

    Great reaction! The bass player, Ale, has often kept her backup vocals at a lower level in the past, although that seems to be changing as she grows as a musician (Evolve at the VMAs came over a year later than this concert). Important to remember that she was only 17 at the time of this concert. Pau, the drummer and just 20 when this was recorded, is a superb and passionate vocalist who sings lead on about 20% of their songs. And Dany, who was 22, is a fantastic front lady whose vocals can really soar and who really knows how to make that PRS (and other guitars) roar.

    • @richr6249
      @richr6249 7 місяців тому +20

      Agreed. Ale's vocals have disappeared in the mix until recently. She's sounding superb lately. And if Ale is reading this...LOUDER PLEASE!

      @musikbyjh  7 місяців тому +6

      Yeah, I was wondering if it were a “comfort” thing. I have a hard time believe that as good as they sound, that her vox being low would be an accident. Possible…but not if this is a consistent theme (from before a year ago). I can’t speak to anything more since we’re only 2 songs into them…but there is more coming!

      @@musikbyjh One thing I have noticed: Ale's vocals were very clear in their early on-stage gigs. And as you probably know by now (sorry, late to this game) she does sing lead if Dany needs a break. Some commenters state that she has been encouraged to be the primary on a few songs, but she's always (so far) turned it down. I and a lot of folks hope she changes her mind. But as Lolli Wren stated, Ale has found her lane with low in pitch backing vocals and bass guitar.

    Another great reaction. It is obvious that you have been "Warned!" The reasons that you haven't heard of them? First, they are young and female in a male dominated industry.They weren't taken seriously. Second, they are from Mexico. Third and most importantly, they didn't sell out. They were offered record deals years ago. But every record company wanted to change their looks, style and music. Once they were told, "Do you want to play in front of 12 or 12,000?" Pau, the drummer sopke up and said, "The Warning would rather play in front of 12 if it meant keeping our integrity and playing our music they way we want to play it!" Then they all got up and walked out. How cool is that?

      You mentioned that you would like a blue PRS? Well it just so happens that Dany just debuted her new blue PRS this week. What are the odds? Your next reaction should be either Z (Dany has a solo) or Dust to Dust(Pau sings lead) or if you want to hear a bass intro, Animosity from the same concert, Teatro Metropolitan.

  • @TheFemiaTeam

    You may not have heard of them because they were an independent band until 2020. They put out their first 2 albums as self-funding projects. They were always big on UA-cam and cultivated a massive following there. They were supposed to tour in 2020 but the tour was postponed because of covid. They signed with Lava in 2020 and recorded their 3rd album with David Bendeth during covid. Since then, they have been touring, doing commercials, playing on the VMA's, etc. The concert at Teatro Metropolitan was actually the best produced concert until the VMA's. You can go way back to watch them when Ale (the bassist) was 9, but the kind of quality you're looking for is mainly at the Teatro concert and the official music videos for their album, Error. There's a lot of stuff out there; they're very fan friendly and their fan base, The Warning Army, is very loyal.

    The theater "Theatro Metropolitan" was torn apart and reintroduced as a 3000 seat venu, with all of the sound, video, lighting, screens, and stage impliments for the artists. I believe The Warning may be the first ever released video from there but I'm not sure... They were supposed to be the first large concert there...

    They debuted two new song at a concert over the weekend. No official release date for the songs yet. They performed them again last night at a gig in their hometown of Monterrey before around 4500 people where they did some novel things wth their show, like Pau was playing a grand piano center stage to perform a song from their first album that is a fan favorite. She was accompanied by a string section that also stayed around to accompany the band with their reimagining of Enter Sandman. Not sure what the next surprise will be on the tour as they progress across Mexico celebrating ten years as a band. They play the Pepsi Center in Mexico City on Saturday to a sell out crowd of over 8000, the largest venue they have ever headlined.

    Dany also plays a a Gibson Explorer that was given to her on stage by Lzzy Hale and a couple of Mansons gifted to her by Matt Bellamy. Alejandra is sponsored by Spector and has her own signature finish, with a custom model soon to be released.
    Pau is sponsored by Sabien cymbals.
    You have locked in on a common complaint from TWA. We frequently perceive that Ale's levels are waaaaaaay to low.
    Anything you would want to react to from this show will be similarly excellent in terms of audio, video, and lighting. Take the deep dive with us. I subbed after your first reaction. I am enjoying your sound engineering perspective. Ninja (sic) is fun as well.

    There's no fat on their songs, they always leave you wanting more. They're master songwriters. The drummer Pau (POW!) is their primary songwriter, beginning most of their songs on piano before bringing them to her sisters to turn them into fully fleshed out bangers.
    Check out Dust To Dust to hear Pau sing a whole song, or Revenant to hear her sing a slower one, out from behind the kit - it's a beauty. Both from this show, of course.

    Studio Quality Live Band!! Lalo Plazo is their full time audio engineer, and he does an amazing job. He travels everywhere with them, and they play from small venues to the biggest stages in the world. They mic'ed the hell out of this concert. I always make sure to give him a fist bump at every show. He deserves the thanks, and accolades. Check out Dust to Dust from this same concert! Pau takes leads, as her sisters harmonize. Their manager Rudy even has a short verse in it as he plays the Preacher, giving a sermon. D2D is the prologue to a Concept LP called Queen of the Murder scene, and it's noting short of epic. Looking forward to hearing more from you both! 🤘⚡🤘

    There’s a reason why they aren’t as well known in the US. The American music industry is ignoring them. They don’t fit their narrative. They refuse to dress like sluts (even in private). They don’t use profanity in their music. They turned down Disney, Simon Cowell and other high profile industry bigs and they are Rock/Metal which the industry does NOT like.
    They signed with Lava/Republic. The first Mexican band to be signed with an American label. They have complete and total creative control.
    New album dropping soon. Second of five with Lava.

    To echo what a few have already said about Alejandra and her voice in the mix, it is a confidence and preference for her that they are this low. Since this concert, her voice has received more parts and is higher in the mix. If you react to "More" from the VMA's, it is apparent. Important to remember, she was like 7 when they started playing together and lead vocals was being managed by her sister that is almost 5 years her senior. This fact, along with their humble beginnings and that Ale is the "shy one," all play a part in her being low in the mix at this point in time.

    • @lonelywind3511
      @lonelywind3511 7 місяців тому +7

      Plus which Ale is a perfectionist with perfect pitch & possibly her own worst (or only) critic. During soundchecks she tends to tell their sound guy Lalo to turn her down in the mix. BTW, while it is often the drummer that keeps the timing & they do use a click track Pau has commented that she has gotten really tired of Ale giving her that look whenever she starts getting off time. Both of her sisters have referred to Ale as a human metronome.

    • @mjc1389
      @mjc1389 7 місяців тому +1

      @@lonelywind3511 “Perfect pitch refers to a person's ability to identify any musical note by name after hearing it, without reference to other notes. Perfect pitch-also known more technically as absolute pitch-can also refer to the ability that some singers have to sing a given note on cue” - from Google.
      Ale has the first part of this definition (pitch recognition) and not the 2nd and it’s important to clarify that because when a majority of people hear the term perfect pitch they infer the 2nd part which is much rarer.

    Ale (bass player) is like their secret weapon… besides being an excellent bassist, she has a great voice that the band uses smartly. When they need low backing vocals she can go real low, and then when they need high vocals , yes she can do as well ( she does a great falsetto in “Sinister Smiles “ for example)
    Unfortunately, she doesn’t like to sing lead, although she has done it several times when Dany (guitar and lead vocalist) is sick or needs a rest.

    Great reaction, I love when people discover The warning, can you react to Survive the presentation of this same concert? It's a classic
    Ale (the bass player) does the low harmonies and there are times when you have to pay close attention to hear her, for example at the 2018 Lunario show she was 13 years old when they did that show for their album Queen of the murder suene in that concert she can be heard very well in this concert it is true that her microphone was lower than Pau and Dany's but you can hear her if you pay attention.
    I like reactions with analysis and people talking about their areas of expertise one of the reasons I liked this reaction.
    These girls are amazing as you could see and hear, their attention to detail, their lyrics, their desire to do new things but what I love most about this group are their personalities, they are funny, crazy, they talk a lot, they adore each other, they love their fans and there are videos that fans make of funny moments that when I feel bad I don't hesitate to watch because they make me feel better and they make me have a lot of fun.

    I was actually quite pleased with how noticeable Ale's (bassist) vocals were at this entire concert compared to previous live recordings and mixings (MTV VMAs came after this and are yet another improvement again probably). She's mainly in the left ear. When she's singing at the same pitch, just doubling, I think it's hard to notice, but during the chorus at 2:46 and 5:38 (timestamps for your video here, not theirs) "Kill the system, kill the man. Strip the power from their hands", she's definitely there at a lower pitched harmony in the left ear. I believe this part is a two way harmony without Pau (drummer) so if you can hear the harmony then that is Ale.

    Another great reaction Jeremy! I'm glad you listened to TWA and chose this one to react to. I mean... you can't go wrong with whatever you pick, but this is my go-to for introducing people to The Warning. You get to see the energy of their live performances (which this still doesn't do the real experience justice) AND Dany and Pau trading lead vocals. Anything from this show is great to react to!
    If you ever have the opportunity to see them perform live, do it! I was a fan before I saw them live for the first time, but after that concert I was a FAN. I have since become a Patreon, have travelled out of state multiple times to see them and I only have 2 tattoos on my body... one of them is The Warning's logo! That kind of fan... 🤘😎🤘 ⚡⚡⚡

    The Teatro mixing is also fantastic with Ale's vocals kept low by design. She normally surfs the lower ranges while her elder sisters alternate between the mid & high frequencies. As you get familiar with their vocal textures you will learn to identify Dany's guttural power against Pau's raspy delivery. Quite often in a song the elder sisters switch vocals & scales while harmonizing.
    To complete The Warning experience you need to review their lyrics. I know people nowadays don't listen to what a band is saying, how they are saying it - mainly because over the past few decades very few groups have written anything substantial. No wonder most listeners don't prioritize lyrics. Instead they get influenced by the musicianship & showmanship on stage forgetting that the lyrics are an important part of a song.
    No band, male or female, from the past few decades comes close to these girls' contextual & profound take on today's society. And I will stretch it back to '80s implying that their poetry, metaphorically at least, is better than their idols from the '90s. The Warning are just below Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen & Roger Waters in terms of intellectualism in songs. Intelligence of the '70s, '80s have been missing in music for a long time. The Warning have brought it back through their subtle musicianship & insightful lyrics. As many from The Warning Army say - came here for the music but stayed back for the lyrics.
    Every song from them needs to be listened with the lyrics, innate message & back story, if available.
    Because they are the most intellectual band to emerge in decades. You can read what the band says about their songs during your reviews. Their ages at the time of composing a song & playing it in public should be noted too in reactions.
    This song is about how social media controls us with fabricated info. Pau, the drummer, got inspired about the main riff in a Canadian supermarket in 2019. She came home, composed the first daft on her piano including the bass intro and called her sisters for further development. They were 19, 17 & 14 then.
    That is why Dany, guitarist, starts the song as an antagonist with "The sun is YOUR enemy today" while Pau picks it up as a disciple in the 2nd verse with "The sun is MY enemy today". The sisters trade off lead vocals as demanded by the script.
    The Warning are masters in composing in minor scales. Quite often they introduce a full sequence of major chords for the same verse to break the monotony. And that downward bend in vocals here is typically The Warning with this progression G Bb E A G#m . I mean, G & G#m in the same sequence - incredible!!!
    Dive into their rabbit hole that stretches back more than a decade to when they were playing classical piano as 6-8 year olds. Its all on UA-cam. They have practically grown up on social media. After watching your reaction I am confident that you won't be disappointed.

    The mixing at this concert was done by a group.called "Pro Shot". The mixing is pretty good for a live concert. As for the bass player I think she prefers to be mixed lower. The VMA shows she was mixed higher and it was amazing. I hope they continue that trend. She really does have a great voice with a unique sound and it just adds so.much more to the band. Good reaction. Not many reactors comment on Paulina the drummer singing thru those amazing fills. Good catch. Great song, I can't wait for the new songs to become officially released.

    Teatro metropolitan concert is the best sound quality you can find in you tube from them, so any song of that concert is Ok (they don´t have bad songs). If you like to see the drummer sing while drumming well you have "dust to dust" or "23", if you like a sentimental song you can go for "revenant". they all have amazing voices.

    I would suggest the songs Dust to Dust or the song 23 to see how Pau can sing lead while drumming. She sings lead on about 20 percent of their songs. Another great song to see what Dany can do is Z for her solo or When I Am Alone for how good she is with no backing vocals. All these songs are live from Teatro Metropolitan and all are excellent sound and video quality. This concert has to be one of the best concerts ever on UA-cam.

    Mind-boggling facts: Their ages in this 2022 concert are 22 (Dany, guitar), 20 (Pau, drums) and 17 (Ale, bass). EVERY original song at this concert was written when the main songwriter (Pau) was 18 or younger, and the hard bangers with tasty bass lines (like Dust to Dust) were from their 2nd album (Queen of the Murder Scene) that was released in 2018 when their ages were 18, 16 and 13.

    Ya they've seemed to bump up Ale's mic in the mix this year which is nice. She was quite low for all of the 2022 touring that I heard. The toughest vocal levels to get right seem to be Pau's since she's on a headset above drums and swaps between doing lighter backup vocals and heavier lead vocals off and on. Still, the overall audio quality from that Teatro Metropolitan show is some of the best for The Warning (the two tracks from the VMAs are the only ones that sound even better). Hopefully at least one of the Mexico shows they just put on this month will have been pro shot as well.

Watch Dust to Dust Pau the drummer sings lead. They don't have a bad song and any songs from this show are awesome. They have their own sound people lead by Lalo that do their shows. The lighting was done by Halestorms lighting man for this show. They have videos of the equipment for each member it's very informative. I have been following these very talented ladies since 2017 and like many at first I was impressed by their talent at their young ages, now I'm impressed by their talent regardless of their ages.
    Regarding the mixing, They have been working with a sound engineer from Mexico (Lalo) since before the pandemic. From an interview I saw with him, the father of Dany Pau and Ale (DPA for short) is a very familiar with the mixing process and could mix himself but does not like/feel comfortable doing it live. I believe that for MTV they had to be working with another person doing the broadcast mix if not both the broadcast and normal mix.
    BTW loving your reactions! I enjoy watching reactor to relive that discovery vicariously and sometime learn something new about music, music tech, music challenges. It's been fun.

It might be her preference, I know she can sing lead when Dany is sick or needs to rest her voice a little but she doesn't like to, so maybe she doesn't want to be too predominant in the mix?

  • @pissingelk

    Great reactions guys! Dany does 80% of the leads, Pau does 10% and they share the lead on 10% of them. There is a treasure trove of music that you can explore from TW. You can choose to do a chronological deep dive or do more recent songs from their last album ERROR. This song is from ERROR and it's official music video is very cool. There are a number of official music videos from ERROR that are available and I highly recommend those however, this concert has all those songs as well. Other people will recommend different options for you to explore so get ready for that. They are currently on tour in Mexico and so their are fan, cell phone versions of things that are popping up as well. Sound quality is not great but it was nice to hear two new songs that will be on the new album that doesn't have a release date yet but probably sometime in the first few months of the year. 💖✨🔥⚡🚀🤘🏽

    About the mixing of the band, their dad is a sound engineer, so in every venue his work is to get in many positions of the venue and guide Lalo Plaza (the roadie sound engineer) to get the correct mix for the venue or arena. There is a reason for why this band to many people, sounds better live than in record (add their stage presence, great music and better execution) and you get a Great Show. There are people that has go to dozens ot their shows in USA, Canada, México, South América and Europe

    In regards to your comments about the mixing. They have their own sound engineer named Lalo. He is very good, but I have found him lacking at times. However, they are all like a family and they are very close and loyal with their family and crew. BTW, Ale's mic is always very low. She is youngest and very shy, and hates to be the center of attention. She may intentionally sing softly during shows after singing normally at sound check. LOL.
    The post-prod mixing for this show was actually done by their guest drummer and Pau's Drum Teacher, Beto Ramos, of the Mexican band, Jumbo, and formerly of the Band Los Claxons. Also, Ale's Bass Teacher, Pablo Gonzales is also in Los Claxons and has been Ale's teacher since she was a little girl and a mentor to the band and family friend.
    And yes, their father, Luis, used to own a music studio, and he acts as their stage manager (and Dad, LOL), their mother, Monica, is their personal assistant for live shows. And their manager is Rudy Joffroy, and his company is called Creative Dreams. I have had the privilege of meeting all of them and they are nicest people you could ever meet. This band, crew and family really, truly love their fans!
