    I met my Filipino boyfriend 25 years ago. He is hard working man who saves money all the time. We lived in a unit together for 25 years renting. We shared the cost of living. He is only an ordinary gardener who worked everywhere. He does not smoke or drink. Now he has bought a house in cash (mortgage free) and a Toyota car. He still have few hundred thousand dollars in the bank. Now he is still work few days and enjoying his life towards retirement!

    Make sure you get home building insurance as more than 70 home builders have gone bust in Australia this year, leaving many first time home buyers with half finished houses or empty lots. Last year more than 90 homebuilders declared bankruptcy.

      True. That's why it's crucial for people to be prepared for such projects and carefully assess the associated risks.

      Hi, Thank you sa comment.
      Actually, nahirapan kaming humanap ng rental property na cheaper than this last year. Kasi nga mataas ang demand for cheaper rental properties dito lalo na last year. We had to directly contact the real estate agent and asked them to help us to find one that’s within our budget. We were going for $400 na two bedrooms but mostly ang available is 3 bedrooms at $500 per week mark. We agreed na lang since we can afford it naman. Nagpapaka frugal lang ng konti if kakayanin🤑😂

      Hello. Generally, hindi namin ginagamit ang AC namin both winter and summer. We used our AC once when there was a week of heat wave last summer. The weather is good, at least sa first summer and winter namin dito sa QLD. I love it better than NSW and VIC.

    Why is rent quoted weekly in Australia? Why don't they just give monthly figure like the rest of the world

    • @NurseRowee
      @NurseRowee  Рік тому

      Hi, That's a good question, and it's something I wondered about myself when I came to Australia from the Philippines. In the Philippines, we were used to paying rent on a monthly basis. When I asked the agent, they provided me with two explanations. Firstly, historically, it was common for people to be paid on a weekly basis, and rents were also collected weekly. This practice simply continued over time. Secondly, it's worth noting that the number of days in a month can vary. Setting a specific business day every week for rent collection with the same amount ensures convenience for both the tenant and the landlord. Since there are only 52 weeks in a year, it provides a consistent frequency and day of the week for rent payments.

      @@NurseRowee I think your agent didn't say the most important part which gives Landlords the upper hand. Based on what I googled, if a tenant has not paid rent for more than 14 days (7 days for other types of rentals), the Landlord can issue an eviction notice.
      This really works in the favor of Landlords.

      Thanks for your detailed reply. I know it's tougher for young workers to acquire a residence nowadays so it's important to get that first residence before taxes and inflation eats up most of your earnings.

      @@robocop581 Thanks for sharing that insteresting info. We better pay the landlord on time then. :)

    Matagal Po ba talaga magkaroon Ng sariling house sa Australia?

    • @NurseRowee
      @NurseRowee  Рік тому

      Hi Stefani, Depende naman kung ano priorities. Kapag ang focus mo lang is savings for a house deposit and wala kang other major financial commitments. Then mabilis lang din naman. Saka depende din kung ano income syempre. Sa ngayon ang range ng apartment or house starts sa 500k. So big project talaga. Pero possible with good planning :)
