    With all the sex scenes in the movie I find the part where Oliver hugs Connie from the back in this scene to be the most intimate.

      Of course, you think like a man with a lot of pain. However, you didn’t see how miserable was her life with Clifford. I think that we have to find happiness no matter what you have to sacrifice because you just live once in life. Life is short my friend!

      To me Clifford in this version seemed a lot more selfish and awful as a husband. In the 2015 BBC adaptation I felt truly sad for Clifford, because they protrayed him as much more loving, selfless and tortured. You could actually tell why Connie loved him in the beginning and it felt more like a triangle.

    • @blue3374
      @blue3374 Рік тому +14

      @@hellund2874 yes!! he was much more understanding about how Connie would feel with him being disabled & even in the ending, he 'sends' her off with Mellors. While this version of Clifford is more faithful to the book, it was still interesting to see the different portrayals. you def feel more sympathetic for Connie and Mellors here than in the BBC one

      YES! YES! A THOUSAND TIMES YES! I was hoping someone would have mentioned this. When the screen cut to black the very first time, the credits should have rolled. It would have been "chef's kiss."
      I wasn't even that crazy about the movie honestly, but I loved that ending cuz it caught me right in the heart. (And I found myself to be quite fond of the actor that played Oliver) I even rewound it a couple of times, it touched me so.

    • @MysteriousDrella
      @MysteriousDrella Рік тому +9

      SPOILERS: Her husband had it coming. He denied her lots of things, including intimacy. Plus he basicly told her literally to cheat to have an heir, but he backpaddled out of that because he couldn't stand her getting attention or giving atention to guys. Later on he was again happy she cheated and got pregnant until gossip ruined his reputation and he knew the father (and he knew the dad was lower class). He became worse and worse and kind of abusive really. In the end he insulted and humiliated her as well in front of others and from the beginning of their marriage he denied her all intimacy /sex, which she so longed for (not even touching). His personality became worse and worse. Saying he was upper class and the better than all the rest, including her. She always was gentle and calm and caring for him and tried to love him no matter his sterness. And he tried to lock her up in their home. In those times you couldn't just divorce, even when abused. Your husband would have to agree upon it, which he ofc didn't.
