    Nothing to mess with, I hiked from Mt Hermon to Tiberias in Israel a year and a half ago (75 miles) and I became dehydrated and dizzy. Stop at a small town and drink over at least 7 liter of grape juice, water and fruit drinks, next day felt great. Stay frosty my friend, be safe the trail ain't going nowhere 🏕

    I know this video isn't about hiking, but it's part of the hiking experience on the PCT and I found it very interesting. Glad you're feeling better and glad you finally got the name of Tehachapi right😂. Hope you can meet up with your trail family in the next couple of days.

    Hey. Fellow Georgian No Filter here. Just spoke with our buddy Snake Eyes. Glad y’all got a chance to meet. You made a great choice getting medical help. There was always a voice in my head reminding me to make good choices 😂😂 Be safe and happy trails!

    At least you're doing well! I hiked from the Combs Peak Trailhead (near Mike's Place) up to Combs Peak last year. When I finished, I ran into a thru-hiker who was waiting by my truck and hoping for a ride to the ER. The closest ER was in Temecula, so I took him there. Turns out he had Gardia. He ended up spending a few days there off trail, but the bonus was that he had done the AZ trail the previous year with a friend of mine. You just never know who you'll meet on trail. ;) Stay healthy and stay safe. Looking forward to following more of your videos. :)

    Happy to hear you got professional help and are going to take the time to recover. Dehydration can sneak up on you and then become very difficult to vanquish without help. Same thing with hypothermia, they both present without warning and are rarely recognized by the afflicted person. There's plenty of time to get back on the trail and complete your hike, just keep up the prevention of these and other dangerous conditions so you'll operate without excessive risk.

    Glad to hear/see that you’re taking care of yourself! Better to address it now & have a minor delay than pushing too hard & ending up having to check in for an extended visit at a hospital! Might want to check on hydration centers along the trail! They’re pretty popular around here! Stay safe & well my friend!

    I guess getting your “trail legs” means more than just getting physically acclimated to hiking. Your whole body is getting used to the trail diet again, a different climate, and groups of people. Still a lot of trail left to cover and I’m confident you’ll crush this one like you did the AT. Cheers #2, and happy trails!

    Youre such a big guy I'd be pounding the electrolytes; Vital Proteins make a great hydration and collegen blend. Also if you use some BPC-157 it'll help with fluid retention, its a peptide.

    nothing to be sorry about after all this is part of your hiking story!! pPlus it shows others that are thinking about doing a big thru hike that its not all sunshine and rainbows. but you can keep going even when you have struggles. get 100% better though before you jump back on the trail. your health is more important then anything else.

  • @whynotbekind1957
    @whynotbekind1957 9 місяців тому

    People dont follow you for a perfectly scripted video that only shows the good parts of a thru hike. its good to show the struggles, because it shows people all the realities of what a hike might mean for them if they have the desire to do a long hike like this. Hope you are much better by now.
