That vegetable is called Bitter gourd/melon. It's used a lot in Asian dishes. And yes there were supermarkets around back in the old days 😄. The ones I knew were Kingsway and Leventis.
Hi sissie and family, I really miss you I was on vacation in Africa, the economy is not easy o even in Gambia, it was so difficult for me to bring my african foodstuffs to UK, but god is in control IJN
The prickly fruit you picked up is called bitter gourd. It is quite bitter, but the health benefits are amazing. If you cut the fruit up and then let it sit in slat water for about 10 to 15 minutes its takes the bitterness away. It is often eaten with eggs. Very good for digestion and very tasty when prepared properly.
I enjoyed all your trips 😀The veg is called karela or bitter gourd . the Indians use it in their dishes like sanzibi ( mixture of okra tomatoes and karela, with potatoes . you can just boil it and drink the water. I like bitter things. I hear it is good for helping control blood sugar . 😇
Wow ! I just bumped on your video today, and it was great ! I live in Lekki, and would love to know the 3 Supermarkets you first went. I only go to ShopRite, Grand Square, and Ebaeno. Also please which open market did you go ? I know one on Freedom Way, but I never went in. This one you went looks clean and dry !! Kids always love little treats, there were Kingsway, Leventis, UTC and Bhojson's in Lagos in the 1950s , even earlier, my kids enjoyed going with me too !! We thank God for kids. Hoping to hear from you. Thanks.
Your supermarkets were so uncrowded. What a pleasure! I don't generally go shopping on Fridays or Saturdays because the stores are packed and the lines long. The vegetables were so beautiful and very fresh. We have farmers markets here in my city from late spring until the fall. I love shopping there. The girls are adorable! ❤ Blessings!
Yeah back in the days there was U.T.C, Leventis & Kimgsway. I guess it depends in the year you were born, as these super stores were eventually closed down.
In jamaica that fruit is called cerasee fruit ,the vines and leaves are used boiled and strained for cleansing of body and pregnant ladies like myself drink it to make baby born with clean pretty skin 😊
Thanks for this. I have African markets in my town but just didn't know how to shop. I felt discouraged and out of place. Psst. You looked nice dressing for shopping 💄. Alot of Women forget to do that. Thanks. ❤🎉👀👩💻
Going to mile12 ll still save u money if u r buying In bulk wen u add all d extra money u ll avenue is enough to compensate for d fuel meaning u ll use it for something eals it’s better u go with a friend not with kids
Beautiful vlog sisi. I think it's called a bitter gourd. If am correct 😅😅Groceries now cost an arm, head legs or even kidneys now in Nigeria. Seeing you buy all those stuffs😢😢😢. It's well
That green rough body is called corolla vegetable in Guyana South America. You can check it up how is being cooked but a bit bitter in taste. Is used to eat rice.
In my country 🇰🇪 Kenya - sauce means a WHOLE different thing. It means, a complimentary, like, mayonnaise, mustard, ketchup. etc. Rather than saying sauce, we say Rojo (gravy not curry).
That orange and green veggie u picked up is call a bitter melon. Cambodian ppl use it a lot in their cooking. My parents love it, I think it’s a little too bitter for me. 😁
For someone like you who lives far, mile 12 is not worth it at all. Judt go to the market and meal prep every month and vlog it. Its more worth it than the stress of mile 12.
Ah! Sisi I beg to differ Mile 12 is worth compared to island prices for foodstuff, fruits and fresh vegetables especially when you’re bulk buying You’ll get produce that will last months Trust me Try and explore it once
Sad but true. Once you make a market person your customer, especially food market, expect to be cheated or badly treated in 3, 2, 1 second... Nigerian market seller's don't reward loyalty.
Ah! sisiyemi your mum will buy you something after shopping ke. Kind mummy oo. My mum will remind you to drink water before we leave the house. Then she will buy puff puff after shopping to take home for all of us to share. 😂😂. That puff puff they sweet sha and always hot. I did enjoy your video.
If you don't live close to Mile 12, it is not worth it, no matter the bulk you buy. If you were passing by and decide to branch, then that is a different matter

I love it when you take us shopping with you ❤
Lovely supermarket with our foods well stocked. The big bag of rice is more economical to me instead of the 10kgs
The shopping is so relaxing and the fruits and veggies in the market looks fresh and organic too.
What a beautiful family! The triple T kids are adorable and they will be good cooks just like their talented mama.❤
