Actually ego isn’t the self it’s just the conscience self not the whole self. The ego doesn’t identify with the shadow, to be able to accept yourself fully you have to accept the shadow as well. This means that map of the soul 7 isn’t he conclusion of the journey. It just shows the beginning of a new journey figuring out the self (in future albums )
I am *so* happy that I'm not the only person to feel this way. To complete the series something about "Self" needs to be next, even if it's a mini-album.

You all know that ego is the same as the self according to Jung? Ego is the part between the shadow and the persona, same as the self between the aid and the super ego according to Freud. It integrates the conscious and sub conscious parts
I like the thesis, antithesis, synthesis characterization of the three rappers' solos.

제이홉군이 연습생 시절에 실제로 팀에서 나갈려고 했었어요.
그때 멤버들이 제이홉군이 없으면 안된다고 설득을 했었고, 그 무엇도 아니고 멤버들만 믿고 함께 데뷔했다고 합니다.
그래서 그것 자체가 운명이었고, 멤버들끼리 믿었기 때문에 여기까기 올수 있었던 같아요.
가사가 너무 힘이 되는 노래예요.
저도 제가 소망하는것!!

The backing vocals here are actually a gospel choir from LA. they actually sing in korean in one of the other songs on the album as well. they sounded amazing and i'm glad they were able to shine through on this track

오늘 영상 너무 좋아서 댓글을 달지 않을 수가 없네요. 제이홉은 무슨 선택을 했어도 성공했을겁니다. 성격적으로도 좋은점이 너무 많아서 늘 감탄하게 되는데 일에 있어서도 보면 성실하고 자기관리도 잘하고 이런 모든 점들이 또 꾸준한 친구거든요. 어찌보면 인생은 무엇을 선택했느냐 보다는 선택을 어떻게 받아들이고 또 어떻게 헤쳐나가는지가 더 중요한거 같다는 생각을 하게 되는 지금입니다. 탄이들 덕분에 또 정호석 덕분에 많은 살아갈 힘을 얻게 되네요.
긍정의 힘은 막을수 없죠! 제이홉님은 항상 긍정적이신거같아서 뭘해도 정말 잘되셨을거 같아요!

Undefined Language Hmmmm. I dont know if it is just me, I feel like they have watched the videos first before reacting. Still good reactions though. It just seems that they rehearsed what to say in each scene. It loses the genuineness a bit for me.

To me it feels like he's saying if his life was just Jung Hoseok, he might have just kept chasing his dreams and be full of regret. His choices led him to become the one and only J-Hope. Of course there were sad times and difficulties but thats fate. He accepts and celebrates that those experiences have made him who he is today.

맞아요 ㅠㅅㅠ 멤버들 말로는 호비가 처음 회사 들어왔을땐 지금처럼 막 밝은 성격이 아니었다고 해요! 자신도 hope이라는 이름이 자기를 바꿨다고 할 정도로요ㅜㅜ

제이홉이 데뷔전에 나갈려했는데 특히 막내 정국이가 많이 말렸다는데....홉이가 워낙 다정해서 10대인 막내가 많이 의지했을거예요..항상 쓰담쓰담에 뽀뽀에ㅋㅋ 멤버들도 회사보고 다시 설득해달라고 .. 우리팀에 정호석이 없으면 안된다고.. 결국 멤버들만보고 합류....그런 정국이 또 힘들어서 나가려할때 지민이 아이스크림 사주며 말린 일화는 유명하죠..

You guys always give the best commentary/review. I liked this analysis of Ego as well. It really is a great ending to the Map of the Soul. We're in a constant state of journeying towards the map of our soul, which isn't easy and will obviously entail pain, struggle, and suffering.
Look at the future, the way is shining, keep going on. Ready, set, and begin! What lies ahead is unknown, but we'll just have to keep going and trust ourselves. :--)

I learned a long time ago doing festivals and shows that a character / name is just a part of me. So don't try to distance yourself from the name as you are still you no matter the name / character / job you have. Actually it is the reason for the nickname I use - Silly or PyrateSilly - it started from doing shows and that's what people knew me by and even if they call me that I am still Christine .. no matter what you call me I am still me.
