I've actually gained a strange fascination with history, in particular military history and I honestly think it's because of THIS game. I can't speak on any of the new COD because they make me sad with the direction the series went. But Finest hour really was this series finest hour and it inspired me a decade or two to later actually take an interest in history.
6 yrs late but yeah. The damning part is that despite how many fronts was in WWII, CoD 3 and United Offensive are the only two that covered countries outside of Germany/British/Russia and U.S./Japan. There were N. African campaigns but never seen a CoD game with Italians there.
Nico Sepeda What the Russians did at Stalingrad was a last stand against the odds. They indeed refused to retreat and stopped the advancing German forces. Glory to the motherland!
Night Stalker935 fuck the Soviet Union. honestly not that much different than the Nazis in how they conducted themselves prewar, during the war, and post war. massacres, mass rape, plundering and other war crimes and not to mention how they set up puppet states in Eastern Europe for the next 50 or so years. fuck both the Nazis and communists.
My first COD game ever....loved how you played as three nations and not just-two or one most of the game. I felt so much more connected to these early games, maybe it’s because I was a young kid. These games were written so damn well though!
I loved the cutscenes in this game, you still felt apart of the squads you played in, the character you were "reliving" Also the amount of gunfire and sound effects in the cutscenes being so loud made it that much more immersive like a real battle would be
7yrs late but compared to modern CoD, these scenes feels like they were written by someone with a brain. Like there's actual mixed unit communication and cohesion with each other.
I loveeeee this game, it's actually one of the reasons as a kid I was so interested in WW2 and wanted to learn more about it.......but then I really REALLY started to take a critical eye to it and found the war less glamorous and while observing the reality of now that Nazism and antisemitism still existing after so many individuals fought and died for this war even leading to the cold war it just seems so much less amazing of an achievement and more of an even deeper fall of humanity as new problems and old are intensified all around the world. I miss that childhood innocence of being able to be love both the soviet side and the american side, pretending that Sam Rivers isn't referring to the racial bigotry he was alluding to when he signed up in the military its just so grey now in comparison to back in the day. Also General Montgomery should have gotten a stronger tongue lashing for Operation Market Garden.
The soundtrack were absolutely stunning in this game and showed many variations of nations in the campaign. The mission scenario were sick af and definitely got me hyped up! Wish they’d remastered this and it’ll definitely be an amazing experience!
The soviet campaign in Stalingrad os totally based in that movid Enemy at the gates, basicaly all Tanya phrases is from this movid like " we need a explosion to cover the shot sound"
What are they thinking giving ammo without damn rifle in the first mission ? They clearly say go there and wait your friends die and take their rifles. Meaningless
This was the last Soviet stand against nazism. The Germans were 20 miles from Moscow. The soviets were lacking in recourses but had unlimited man power so Stalin did what he had to do. It’s history.
Might be late after a year but you can see that Aleksandr and another Russian soldier carry Tanya inside the checkpoint house in the first mission where you play as Nikolai Badanov and commandeer his tank.
Ahh remember when the campaign actually gave you a history lesson!👌
Game_ Central it really do tho

@@n543576 welp ik its kinda funny but i wish i can participate in that war
This game feels more like an interactive, 3D documentary. It was more than just a great game. How things have changed, eh?
I hope they go back and make more world war 2 games
@@AlphaWolfWars atleast we got ww2
I still have the original Xbox but I lost the disc for this game and it makes me sad!

I wish cod could be this good again...
That speach of the genreal in the first soviet mission gave me chills with the music 😢
That was commisar not general 😊
Just imagine this game with modern graphics. Masterpiece
Am I the only 1 who gets chills when he saids "The Red army Refuses to Retreat" accompanied by that music...?
:0
Dude the whole video gives chills

there's always that one guy that ruins everything
"ruins everything"
Not ruining it just explaining the he fact that the Soviet Union was just as bad or worse than Nazi Germany.
Best bit about this game. Brian Johnson, the lead singer of ACDC, is the voice of the British Sgt.
A great game, definitly one of the best

I love tanya from day one of this game
They should remastered this.
You bet your ass they should
Hell yea they need to do that
Yup they should
Exactly were my thoughts when they were remastering MW2
They should for all the old cods
I loved the cutscenes in this game, you still felt apart of the squads you played in, the character you were "reliving"

I can't believe that they got Dennis Haysbert (the Allstate person) to be the narrator for this game
7yrs late but compared to modern CoD, these scenes feels like they were written by someone with a brain. Like there's actual mixed unit communication and cohesion with each other.
I played Finest Hour when I was 10 years old (2008) and I didn't know that I've been hearing the voice of Robin Atkin Downes all this time, WOW!
I remember these cutscenes like i watched them yesterday holy shit
The checkpoints in this game were horrible
A little
Lol it added to the challenge of getting it done right
Those were real games :')
This game told the story of Soviet Women & African American soldiers respectfully & accurately why is it so hard to do these days?!?

Maaan the soundtrack of this game....

Fun Fact: British Sgt. Bob Starkey is voiced by none other than Brian Johnson, singer for AC/DC 🤘😝
My childhood game
Some anachronism. But man, what a game ! I hope we got history lessons like this today. :)
the first man in line gets a rifle...
The soviet campaign in Stalingrad os totally based in that movid Enemy at the gates, basicaly all Tanya phrases is from this movid like " we need a explosion to cover the shot sound"
Nickolai!!
I didn't know he was in this!
And In Mw2 Some One Pronounced His Name omg Nikolai is the original I mean he's on campaign AND zombies
RIP Sergeant Puskov
I wonder if anybody has ever found the secret UFO in the Snow Tank Mission?
I did for health
There's health packs behind the ufo

What are they thinking giving ammo without damn rifle in the first mission ? They clearly say go there and wait your friends die and take their rifles. Meaningless
well this is what the soviet union actually did (read history mate)
pater souvlakios ok mate thanks
Its what actually happened in real life dude, read or watch history.
This was the last Soviet stand against nazism. The Germans were 20 miles from Moscow. The soviets were lacking in recourses but had unlimited man power so Stalin did what he had to do. It’s history.
Such an bs. This is an fake fact.
The soviet union had enough equipment this only every 2nd soldiers gets an rifle is an mythos

What the music at 9:25?
Why can't Activision remake original COD trilogy for PS5 and XBOX One.😭😭😭
Is there a call of duty game of where the player gets to be in the boots of a defending German soldier within the siege of Berlin?
No :(
I dont think it will ever be
A game as germans would be extremly interessant :)
But nobody wants to do it
Make cod great again
19:24 is that a reference?
G-sus Ramos Huh?
Did Alexsanr die?
Might be late after a year but you can see that Aleksandr and another Russian soldier carry Tanya inside the checkpoint house in the first mission where you play as Nikolai Badanov and commandeer his tank.

I remember this game, my brother got me into the gaming community years back and now I’m 21 , this game will always have a spot in my heart !
