Great video and great driving... I never thought the 6AT can do great in a track battle. Couple of questions ... How many track hours been done with this automatic transmission? How is the trans temps with such track loads? Maintenance and any broken parts yet??
Hello! I’ve done about 30 track days in this car, not sure about the hours unfortunately (probably around 150 at a guess). No issues with the transmission, although I recently suffered a spun engine bearing which so why I haven’t posted in a while, since the engine is being rebuilt.
Thanks Jonas! Glad you like them 🙂 I'm also hoping these videos will help to dispel the myth that the automatic GT86s are no good, which is simply not true!
Hey man its because of watching your videos plus some rumors about the upgraded parts for the automatic is really turning me on for it. Ended up doing the research myself My goals are for straight line performance everybody loves drifting and stancing these cars. It's nice to see someone like you really using it on the track instead of putting it around a pole or something. I like the straight line performance and having a faster shifting and tougher transmission is very important you can have all the power in the world but you can't get it to the ground there's no point. After I'm done building my manual car I'm going to fetch an auto one and begin my build with that one. So please keep posting these videos that's awesome man and yes those coil packs definitely get to those If you can. I know they cost a bit but try those plasma coils, they increase the spark the higher you rev or go with that Cusco coil box or something like that it helps boost the spark I'm thinking about trying to put that on my build, and while you're at it spark plugs too.
@@mattheweggleston4386 just test drove an automatic frs with avo turbo kit around 300whp on e85. It had tremendous torque down low felt like a 3.5 v6 automatic shifting was flawless spinning wheels through 2nd gear. They wanted ridiculously massive downpayment though🤔😠 on a rebuilt title car😡. Overall the automatic frs is a ton of fun stock or boosted
@@jonasbaine3538 Damn man that's great to hear wow... I'm definitely going to be looking into that when I'm done with my car. The motor is a custom 2.4l using the Forester FB25 block with FA20 heads and crank I built one already in my living room actually lol... It ran but i made a lot of mistakes and lost confidence in it so starting over. Looking for 600 to 700hp chassis is all reinforced one piece driveshaft I'll upgrade diff shortly and I'm going to build fuel system shortly... But the trans is what I'm stuck on... Very expensive to build the manual trains so we'll see.
I don’t have the OpenFlash Tablet (assume this is what you mean by OFT), the car was remapped by Abbey Motorsport in Surrey, England, using EcuTek on a rolling road 👍🏼

@@mattheweggleston4386 this guy is running stock trans and axles at 600hp. ua-cam.com/video/3iQUesByWR8/v-deo.html. It’s a gamble though
I have a 17 86 with the automatic...You have the OFT?
