I really love Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad's brilliant insights, his lectures are very important to me. I am from Ethiopia, I don't even know how to buy this book. It is difficult to purchase a book via online in third world countries like Ethiopia.
It would be very exciting to organize a book talk once I read it after I get my hard copy. It would be more interesting to have the book talk through CMC community.

Subhanallah, just a few days ago, after watching a video of an Islamophobe arguing that Islam isn’t compatible with the west, I was wondering what Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad’s opinion on this issue would be.
There's a video on it already, on the tradarchive channel. It's a similar answer to what he gave here: yes and no, depends on what you mean by "West" and "Islam". And deliving into both of those is worth doing in itself, will artfully unknot the "problem" that is simply that the knot is not unknotted (though we jump to assuming otherwise).

re: Creation Spirituality and treating the Earth well. What comes to mind is the Surah that mentions that Allah, Mighty and Majestic, causes Shaitan and his children to not be able to see their own creations, or the consequences of their actions. What rubbish they leave behind essentially. We use Shaitan's eyes now. I suppose Islam's take helps Sidi Geoff Lawton be one of the leaders of Permaculture education and practice, busy "Greening the Desert" in Jordan. May I say though that the thoroughly Christian "The Embers and the Stars" by Erazim V. Kohák, who only died very recently (inna lillahi wa inna alayhi raji un) writtten in the 80's, covers very much the same ground in terms of making he case that a Godless world is one we cannot help but not treat well, and we become alienated to.

Assalam alaykum Sister, Lest we become like those of the Colonial Era, not noticing the extant native Traditions of peoples that weren't of their way, and assuming and acting on the assumption of the others' complete illegitimacy (which is not the same as Iman that Islam is the only Straight Path to Him), let us be careful about this. It is in the Sunna of our Prophet SAW that there is a difference between the Emigrants and the Helpers. They both Belong, for sure. That difference remains nevertheless. Home is that which we all crave.

I hope that Abdal Hakim Murad writes many books, not only sharing knowledge, but sharing knowledge in his masterful ways with the English Language.
Abdal Hakim Murad is one of two scholars I was most inspired by in my life, the second one is Allama Iqbal, "the poet of East".
