Ok, so first and foremost, these cards are stunning Miriam, each one beautifully balanced and quilled. It’s always the details with your projects that put them on the next level… the backing of the verses with coils giving them a drop shadow, the curving of the vase and that gorgeous wheelbarrow made from corrugated card. Making simple designs is always challenging as there is nowhere to hide, the balance and composition has to be spot on, and these are all perfect. Secondly, can I suggest that you consider purchasing a Cricut digital cutter to save the strain on your hands… it has a print then cut function that allows you to design your piece on your computer, print it on your printer then cut it out with the cutter. You can also cut your quilling strips on it - I have arthritis in my right hand and find cutting by hand increasingly difficult and now use my Cricut more and more for cutting. And lastly on the subject of accepting commissions… I too am very reluctant to take them on, it’s a lot of pressure as you say and I don’t think it’s ever possible to charge enough for the time it takes for these type of projects so I only accept them for people I really want to help out. I hope your friend appreciated your efforts in making these beautiful cards and remunerated you accordingly! Thank you for sharing as always Miriam. ❤😘
Thank you very much for your lovely comment, Orla, and for sharing your experience! I always enjoy reading what you say! Yes, my friend really liked and appreciated the cards, which gave me a sigh of relief and made me happy ☺️. As for the cutting, my sister and I just recently bought a machine, sort of like a Cricut, with cutting features, and my brother was actually telling me that I should try to cut things out on that machine because it has digital cutting functions. But I haven't had time to just sit and learn how to do it - and in my free time I haven't had the desire to spend that time back on the computer, learning the "how to" of this new machine. I hope to do it one day soon, with my brother's help 😉. It would be very helpful, indeed, just like you said it is for you too! And, yes, I agree with the fact that with art, one just doesn't know at times what to charge for the time and effort put into making an artpiece. I am very happy and thankful though for being able to do what I do ! Thank you so much, again, for sharing your thoughts and experiences!✨ 🩷✨
@@MiriamsQuilling Well I would really encourage you to take the time to learn how to use and program your cutter, it will make such a difference. It took me quite a while to learn the design space program for the Cricut but it was worth every minute. So think of it as just the next quilling project and hopefully it will eventually give you more time for the art that no machine can reproduce! 😘❤️
I used to quill years ago and have recently started again, thanks to you. You are very inspiring and have fantastic designs. Thank you for sharing your talent.

Aww, thank you so much! 🩷 It's always a pleasure to share my paper quilling projects with you all and it's an encouragement for me reading the lovely comments and feedback!
Hi Miriam! I’m a big fan of your work, amazing work, I love the way you explain everything. Thank you so much for sharing your lovely works. Stay blessed 🙏
Hi Tabea! 😊 I'm very happy to hear you liked the card ideas! I was very glad to have been able to complete this big quilling art project! I hope you have a nice weekend too! 🩷
I love your quilling designs. Very beautiful! I plan to do some in the future. You have inspired me. I enjoy making custom/personalized projects in my Etsy shop a lot more.
I ❤love ❤❤ your work is beautiful I’m a beginner just starting to make some flowers, but you are an inspiration. Please don’t stop making these amazing videos
Thank you, Miriam. Love your cards. Absolutely gorgeous. I just make greeting cards and gifts for friends. I enjoy gifting, and I think it would be too much pressure if I have to sell them.😅 Also, thanks to all the youtubers like you, from whom I get inspiration! Nothing from me is my original design!!😅😂 Thank you once again. ❤
That's very nice to hear, Padma! Thank you for sharing! 😊 Wonderful that you make gifts for others! At my beginnings with paper quilling, years ago, just like you I too would also get inspiration from images with quilling cards that I found on Google, from other artists. I knew no other way of learning this art. There were very very few videos of quilling, I actually don't even remember watching videos of quilling tutorials, I mostly read blog posts about it and just looked at images. But those were great too! They helped me learn and I just practiced and kept going 😊. And as the years went by, I started designing and creating my own art projects 🌟.
These are so beautiful. I just may try making some like this. It is hard and tiring to make cards for some. I made 24 different cards for my mom as she wanted them for giving to friends on special occasions. She loved them. Thank you for sharing. ❤❤
Thank you very much! 😊 These were made for a friend who (just like your mom) wanted to give them to some acquaintances as a thank you card. That's so awesome that you made so many cards! 🌟😊 It's definitely a challenge!
Que belleza de tarjetas, las flores pequeñas y aun asi tienen tantos detalles, eres completamente increíble, video tras video traes hermosas ideas y verciones distintas ♥ eres muy ingeniosa 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Hi Miriam. Your work is absolutely amazing. So detailed and careful. Thanks for showing it to us. Excuse me for asking, but, how much should we charge for a project like this? Thanks in advance for your answer.
Thank you very much, Isabel ! 😊 I'm sorry but unfortunately I can't give a specific answer to your question. I guess each person evaluates their work with whatever price they see fit (based on how much you work on an artwork, how complex it is, how much material went into it etc.). And, to be honest, at times, you might get a lower price than what you put into creating an artwork, but I am still grateful that I can do it :).
I don't know what you are referring to. If you're wondering about the glue I use, it's from the brand BIC. You can find more information in the description box below the video.
@@MiriamsQuilling foarte fain.
I've had a paper guillotine for a number of years and have been using it for other cuttings... but for the kind I needed to do in this video, I still feel like a ruler and cutter-knife provide more stability when cutting.

Have you tried a guillotine style paper trimmer to save your hands/wrists?
Super... Can you please tell me, what sheet you used to cut quilling strips?
Thank you! I cut out paper strips from colorful A4 sheets of paper, which are 130 gsm weight.

@@MiriamsQuilling Thank you very much Miriam.
I do sync with you it is stressful for creativity to prosper under pressure of commission work.
