When you said: "Are you still with me are you still following along or did I just get a bit too technical?" As a rookie goalkeeper I think it's much better, efficient and useful to know the technicals to be a better goalkeeper. So, even if it's complicated, we want to know them. Thanks for your information and content
Hi bro your killing it with all this valuable content, can you make a video on set positions and how to move around the goal. You can talk about how to plant our feet(on toes) and how to postion our arms and how much to bend our knees and lean forwards. Thanks!
Okay.... This is magic (devine) or something very, very weird..... This video has ONE comment so far asking for a video .... And guess what my next video (coming out on Monday) is about? EXACTLY that 😅 I'm currently working on it. But thank you for your nice words 🙏❤️
Glad you like it 💪 Which part of the videos are you referring to? Landing or high diving? I'm thinking about changing the thumbnail to fit the context better 🤷♂️
@@GroundGloryGoalkeeping 1. Weight transfer and I liked the very specific drill shown on how to load your power step. I'll do it the next training. 2. Dolphin dive - some goalies recommend to dive completely horizontal even for top corners. I tried it, it's not safe, not effective for a anything higher than half of the post. Thank you for dotting the i's here. 3. Landing - a lot of coaches on youtube show that you need to land on your torso side. I tried this technique and it doesn't work except when it's low corner dive. Right now I'm struggling with 2 things though : 1. Reflexes : creating a habbit of making a powerstep rather than jumping from place - on free kicks, I still try to jump from place. 2. Landing on your hip joint. It's very painful. And for some heights/dives it's hard to use "rolling" technique from your arms to hips. Sometimes it's just a hard fall completely horizontal with some shock absorbed by hands, but still a lot of impact for hip joint from the side. So I try to land on the side of the glutes, don't know if it's correct.
@@JohnIdlewood That's a very good summary! About creating the habbit of making a powerstep rather than jumping from the spot, this really requires a lot of practice. And you even so the very best do it from time to time (look at Onana!) And yes, the landing is the most important part of the (especially high) dive, because if it hurts every time you land, of course you hold back when you dive.
I maybe will get a very old keeper (38y) but I really want to learn and practice it. Your videos help a lot ❤ Be honest with me: do you think it makes sense to switch from a Defender to a Goalkeeper at this Age? Tried it already in training and at a Game 2 days ago against a very very low Team and it worked. I felt like I knew what to do etc even if I ve just started. Never been a Goalkeeper in my Life. Checked your Program and it doesn’t look bad at all as I also think your a very good teacher. But I am uncertain if it makes sense to buy your program if I will never be a Goalkeeper 😂
Thanks for your kind words 🙏 Well, it really depends. You're probably not going to be a gk in the Premier League now but if you want to extend your career and play a few extra year then goalkeeping is the way to go ☺️ We goalkeeper can play until we're 60 😁 I am 37, turning 38 in June, and I still love every second of being a goalkeeper - both in games and training 🥲🧤 About the program, it's really up to you. I will 100% get all the tools to become a great goalkeeper and community is amazing. But if you're not going to be a gk then it doesn't really make sense to buy it hehe ☺️
I am gonna try these next time I train thanks a lot. When I was younger I had a very easy time since I had a very good reaction time and the goal wasnt as big as it is now. I even won some goalkeeper of the tournament awards although we never won the league because the rest of my team where not the best (one reason I could show of my skills a lot) When corona came my club stopped training and when we picked it back up the goal size increased a little and I've missed a lot of training. I got replaced by a keeper that couldn't play on the field (I could) and in the second season we played after corona I tore my ACL in the first match as a Stricker. Few years later now I am 19 and moving up to my men's team. I am replacing the keeper who is getting old but I am having a lot of issues Diving into the far corners since the goal size increased again and I am only 1,76cm tall. I hope your videos will help me find the technique to make those jumps and especially help me to not injure myself again ❤

Now we play on big goals and my teammates are playing footbal for around 5 years. I like to say that I learned the proper technique because of you but LITERALLY you don't have time to dive 🥲
Yes, I agree. This is actually one of my "older" videos. I will have to remake this entire with so it has better audio. In the newer videos, I have taken the microphone further away from my mouth which has helped :) Thank you for you nice words and for point that out 💪
