    Over the last months your videos have encouraged me to try DPNs again and each time I do I have more success, thank you. I just need to purchase some wooden or bamboo ones, because the stitches don't slip off as easily.

    This is amazing, and you are a GENIUS!! This I can do. I really like your channel, and the content you put out is very technical. Thank you so much for this. 👍😊

      I was just thinking about this cast on too... I knew there was an easier version to the tubular cast on, logged into YT and this was in my notifications.

    Can you please show the alternated cable cast on?
    It is so much nicer and very much stretchy!

      while I don't think any cast-on is nice or worse than any other, and I am personally not a fan of cable cast-ons at all, you may want to watch this video then: ua-cam.com/video/UVQh82a943Y/v-deo.html

    Actually, you *can* do the tubular cast-on in the round with some practice; however, even with 40+ projects under the belt, I feel rather nervous about the forthcoming affair. 😳
    The video sparkled an idea: if you introduce another yarn for the set-up row & do it as follows: _yarn over + slip the next stitch with the yarn atop of it (instead of purling),_ it might make a nice set-up for two-colour brioche (instead of the hated Italian/tubular cast-on). Huh. Going to experiment with this.

      Well...i know that you can do it...but even I probably would need like 6 attempts to get it right and flawless...i'd probably fail at counting in the first place because it goes so fast..and let's not even talk about twisting.
      As for two-colored brioche. Yeah..that should work! but i'd better try it out because it might not be stretchy enough.

    This was really good, how elastic is it? And the other method to do a super elastic, how to continue on that one, is it another video?

    • @nimbleneedlestwo
      @nimbleneedlestwo  2 місяці тому +1

      no other video. You continue just the same.
      This method is not very elastic. actually rather rigig.

    I am missing something: when you cast on initially, for flat knitting, if you cast on half the number you need plus one stitch, when/how do you get rid of that added stitch in the cast on?

    • @nimbleneedlestwo
      @nimbleneedlestwo  2 місяці тому

      you don't need to get rid of it. For all other stitches you are doubling the stitch count. But the first, you only slip. That's why it evens itselfs out.
      In the round, the extra stitch is technically not needed but I use it to join in the round.

      @krisvanallen 2 місяці тому

      @@nimbleneedlestwo I didn’t ask my question clearly. When you are casting on for FLAT knitting, and cast on the number you need PLUS ONE, how do you removed that extra one stitch?

    So I testing
    I have avoided the tubular cast on because of how much it twists.
    How stretchy is this compared to other cast ons? I'm wondering if it ends up a bit tight?

    • @nimbleneedlestwo
      @nimbleneedlestwo  2 місяці тому +2

      it will be a bit tigher. Or rather just as stretchy as a longtail cast-on. Which can be a pro or a con - depending on what you want. If you use the two needle cast-on as a base, it will be quite a bit stretchier ofc.
