Loved it! You were initially right. No fake tan it was the lighting. We've seen his BTS for this on his Patreon. There's also a 3 behind the scenes video minute version on Ren not Ren (fan channel).

I just don't get this. Try-hard, but cheesy and he has a weak-to-average voice. I'm not a huge Sting fan, but Sting is Stevie Wonder next to this guy.

Plenty of people have checked out Jungle and The Police that never heard of those groups or listened to them. That was the purpose. Ren makes no money off these retakes.
