Pavel, always appreciate your take on things, especially when it involves us. We have to let you know though, the Wraparound ICE has not been sold for at least 5 years and the unit you are using in the video to compare is heavily dated. We have made several updates since then including adding a cross hatch to the teeth for better grip, a wear indicator to show where you are in the process of usage (our area is twice that of the Bauer unit in this video), reenforced toe area (for everyone who loves the TDR), and we are always updating our plastic mixture to be better. More than happy to have you try that if you'd like - just let us know.
Sounds good to me. I’m not sure if it was the ice to be honest I think was sent to me earlier than 5 years ago but in either case always down to try new model
thanks bud. The only issue I had with scraping the bottom off is that the device moves a lot after I do it. It's loose so it's constantly moving up and down. Drives me crazy haha
I use the wraparound i find it to be really commutable and it adds weight so if you were to start playing ice hockey and you don't need the wraparound the pick will add the weight instead when shooting/passing. but also if you eventually take it off it will improve your shot speed.
Hey Pavel thanks for another great video as usual! I've been using the Wrap Around since Covid hit. If I was a UA-camr I'd make a video on how to tape it. Here's what I do if you can follow! I put it on nice and tight where you want the toe to be. I use about 2 1/2" wide sticky red plastic tape (I get from my construction site) cut about a 4" piece and tape only the top section in place stoping before bottom section of guard. Now pull the bottom away from blade and you can wrap the sticky red tape around the top of guard and around bare bottles of blade a couple times. Now reset the guard in place fully covering and shielding the red tape. On the heal I use electric tape because again I get it free on job! But the trick to it lasting longer at heal is a few of my early wraps I bunch the tape tight like a string just before it goes around the bottom with it falling in the last 2 creases of guard where it is somewhat protected from wear! The tape at toe usually outlasts the guard itself. Couple times I used my heat gun to soften it up to get little tighter fit. Sorry it went so long but wanted to be thorough in case it helps anyone out there....I know right, would have been quicker to make a video!!
Great advice. We know that when the blade is taped securely to the stick there tends not to be any problems with the fit. LOVE that you love our product!
Hey Barber, really great video I enjoyed watching and you always give a good review on things but I can point out that the hockey wraparound you are using is a very old model and my team at hockeywraparound have improved on things so the current models are much better!
i been using the wraparound for like 4 years. i got the bauer blade protector & had it for like a week & i can say my hands are way better with the bauer one shot is feeling cleaner to. i think it’s a must have in my opinion i just hope it lasts at least a month or 2 with almost everyday use
So I use the wrap around, but I like having my blade fully taped. To avoid the friction, I will wrap the blade horizontally instead of vertically. It allows me to secure the wrap around with out putting tape on the bottom so it doesn't add any extra friction.
I tried something similar and it was good for that but then the bottom of it would be even less secured and there was a big gap moving up and down when I did it. Did you feel yours moving?
@PavelBarber I never noticed it moving or had a gap, but then again my friends, and I definitely aren't playing as intense of hockey as you, so that probably makes a huge difference. I also use a P92M curve, so I am not sure if that would make a difference as well compared to the P28.
I stickhandle/shoot with my wraparound everyday for 15-40 minutes. I haven’t had to retape in 29 days despite the bottom wearing off. My stickhandling and shot have been unaffected and the unit doesn’t move for me at all. I wonder why yours is different
Personally I didn't like the wraparound, and bought the bauer for my sherwood and found that you can actually make it fit, and I absolutely love it, my shot is way cleaner now.
@@HockeyWrapAround fair enough, I haven't tried the bauer wrap around yet. the wrap around I have from your company is about 2 years old so I have yet to try your newer wrap aound ;)
Ive been using the wraparound for about 2 years, I never have had that problem with the gap on the bottom, only occasionally at the toe but the tape seemed to, help at least for me
I find the CCM p29 works fine with the p92 blade protector but like Barbs, my ccm p28 does have trouble fitting inside the bauer p28 protector. You just have to jam it in more.
It looks like you need a new wraparound! That one you have is very old and is an outdated model. Since they’ve been doing it way longer than Bauer, they’ve already made tons of upgrades to the product
I think if you changed the way you taped the wraparound, it wouldn't move at all... even if the tape wears down at the bottom, the locks it in on the sides. The tape around the front end should have gone a little beyond the lip and then it would not move the toe at all.. been using mine for more than a year and it's never moved.
There's no way to have it not move at all as the training aid by nature needs tape to hold it, and doesn't fit curve specific. Believe me I've tried every tape job imaginable to have it not move but it always does.

Hockey Wraparound for the win!!
I absolutely love my wraparound ! Best off ice training tool by far !
My son absolutely loves his HWA that one is waaaay old. The tape has never got in his way and you can defo TDR on it

Barber, love the videos. I've used the wrap around for years, fully taped like normal. But I just scrape off all the bottom tape. Feels amazing
thanks bud. The only issue I had with scraping the bottom off is that the device moves a lot after I do it. It's loose so it's constantly moving up and down. Drives me crazy haha
@@PavelBarber Haha yeah true. I gotta retape throughout the game or practice to keep it secure tho

Thanks for sharing. The durability test is a big deal so we'll have to wait and see. I hope they last long!

Def one of the ways to do it!
I’ve been using the wraparound… but I hope to try the Bauer if I ever get a chance.
Awesome how do you like it?
As long as you are playing the game you love!

Solid review! What's that rebounder by chance? Hopefully it's a cheaper option than some of the others out there.
I used the wrap around

the wrap around definitely adds a bit more weight to the blade
Weighs about 2 tape jobs ;-) The Bauer also weighs the same as ours.

Awesome to hear. Yeah it's just something I notice all the time whenever I use it. Might be a mental thing but drives me nuts ahha
Gotta try our modern one! ;-) @@PavelBarber
Use the wrap around on the Proto and the Bauer protector on the Sherwood..
Im trying to get started with roller hockey since ice isnt available for me, what pucks did you use in this video?

Yeah that makes sense. The CCM & Sherwood P28's are shorter. Never knew that.
I use warrior w28's, so I'm really curious. Too bad you didn't have one.
How much flex is on your ABS compared to a wood blade? Does your blade come ìn a tapered fit?
Can't stop staring at the custom Fedorov wheels... what was this video about again?!
Hey Pavel, what a bouncer for passing are you using in the video?
bump; what is that rebounder?
Which one is better for beginners
Does the bauer blade protector fits a p92?
It looks like you need a new wraparound! That one you have is very old and is an outdated model. Since they’ve been doing it way longer than Bauer, they’ve already made tons of upgrades to the product
Does it works with fat blades?
Do they make any Bauers that fit the P88 curve?
No
Use gorilla tape for the wrap around.
Run it horizontally
Might have to try that... But wouldn't solve the bottom part moving up and down still.

dude hit me up to try the Puckslinger from Simply Hockey

@@PavelBarber net rebounder that lets you shoot pucks into it and they come back flat on the ground. Would love to send you one??
