Thanks for the Chris & Robert timelapse. That was fun. After years and many pond dams that I've watched him make, I think you can rest assured that the dam is going to look amazing when done and the best part is that it isn't just cosmetic. The quality is through & through. You got the best when you got Chris.
With the mulching machine I guess the windsheild looks to be right on target for debris and splatter, self preservation is more important than video quality we need ya for more videos.
One thing about Chris, when he’s making headway he doesn’t like to stop and Robert knows that! lol 🤣😂🤣 And he pushed that concrete down in the mud and under the pipe too! I promise you it’s not going to wash out Brian!
Great to see your take on things after Chris's video I now know where he got the concrete for the dissipater pad for instance which is something he did not show Must be great for you watching his vid as you can see how things were done while you were away
@@johnhenryNC You can see Chris load it on the truck during the timelapse Some was at the begining of the dam and some was just off to the right at far end of the dam
Yeah Chris is worried about the weight of the haul truck sinking in the dam! I wonder why he doesn’t dig out the wet clay and spread it out to dry and then add it to the dam! He said it’s good clay but it’s wet and sticky so he wouldn’t want to put wet material on the dam! I guess there’s not enough time to let it dry out! Take care my friend!🙋🏼
Instead of mud mats, dredging, and smearing have you considered using tannerite? About five or six sections of 4" or 6" pvc pipe each about 4' long sunk in the mud with only a few inches sticking up filled with tannerite should do it. Maby a 20 foot section with a vertical elbow, stuck in the mud horizontally? It would be a lot of fun, and make for a great video. Edit: tannerite is a legal explosive.
Should be no question about the dam being strong now. Chris does not do things half way. That said when he is done you will have a lot of landscaping to do with all the changes he made and the piles of top soil he rounded up in the process. Lots of grass seed needed too. Top consideration is get a good stand of grass on that dam and keep it mowed so no trees take hold. The biggest cause of dam failure is trees growing on the back slope and this had some monsters. Don't let that ever happen again. I could tell those were there before you owned it since they had some age on them, but do yourself a favor and keep up on that. That area around the outlet pipe will be fine as Chris builds that back.slope The dam has to come up and that means a lot of back slope too. Several feet and every layer will have stuff rolling down to fill that area. Most of that pipe showing will have feet of fill over it by the end.
You should see it now!! It's a beaut! You used to not be able to see the dam at all, trees everywhere! I cleared it and only left a few trees which is what you saw on it. We're planning on seeding and blowing straw on it next week. Rock is going on it this week, similar to Geoffs' (Bealy Good). Then we are going to start on my other pond! lol More to come
Thanks, That would only last about a minute unfortunately, turns into a big hassle. I’ve mostly stopped doing mulching videos unless it’s in an open area and I can film outside.
clean your windshield operator!!! lol
Look who it is, Mr Instructor.
I swear give that operator/utube provider some hints 18!
Haha it’s a lost cause, only stays clean for a minute.
Took the words out of my mouth!
enjoyed your video, mulching was interesting, timelapse of moving the old dam clay was great, thanks..

Great video
Cool video. Love watching Chris building ponds. Thanks for taking me along. Enjoyed!
The first few minutes of this video give a tantalising glimpse of how beautiful your pond/lake is going to look when its done!
18 is from sun up to sundown on most of his jobs.Looking Awesome!
That going to be a beautiful lake!

Waiting for fish rescue😊

While you were out in the dry pond, you should’ve put a galvanized pole to show the water level, Brian! You can always do it later on out of a boat!

Where did the concrete come from for the dissipater pad?

@@morrieshell I still didn't see it, but I'll take your word on it. 👍
Mark a galvanized pipe in feet and drive it in! So you always know the level! I think that would be pretty cool!
Hopefully the fish survive, thankfully the temps will help with that.
Dig a small trench from the isolated pool to the larger pond reservoir to the let your trapped carp through?
MM77 Approved 👍🏼👍🏼

Not sure why
His reasoning was it doesn't spread well and just clumps up and sticks to the tracks when trying to doze it around.
Monster pond 🎣
Nice 😎😎😎👍👍👍
👍😎
Could chris have kept barney going aswell with the speed he was filling that truck?
Maybe if there were 2 more operators to push and compact the dirt.
Once Chris gets the old pond dam down to matching water level is he going to cut anymore and back out or leave it.
Left a small ridge so we could pump out what’s left of the upper pond. It’ll be 6’ under once full
@@BrushCommando I was wondering about that grade too. Six feet is plenty to keep grass from growing. Not enough light that deep normally.

Too close to a neighborhood for all that. lol It's already been taken care of. Video to come
Not seen any Video's from Chris since day before yesterday.? Must save them Carp.
Are both ponds going to be a large pond ?
Yes
350 looks its size in the thumbnail 😂 usually it looks smaller
Zoomed in on it 😂
That’s the only thing that’s bad about being way out there by yourself is getting stuck!

Need a can of windex. I know it’s tough to keep the windows clean in a swamp. Good video.👍👍👍👍

Windex does not come in cans
@@RobertaMottAre you sure that you can't get it in a can you better take the day checking that out.
@@RobertaMottlmao
@@RobertaMott sure it does it’s a spray white foam
Nice video A wide angle time laps is not very common.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I would be more inclined to watch this video if I could see thru your window.
Me too. That's why I mostly stopped making mulching videos but someone asked for one so that's what they got. :)
I have no problem looking through the dirty windows. It hard to keep the windows clean and work just part of it in my opinion. Stay safe and hydrated.
