    this is amazing! i always have trouble with tape and bleeding through the edges. maybe i am using too much paint? idk. watching this has made me want to try again though! good job!

      Brittany Linger I had some trouble with paint bleeding through. Went back and touched up some of the areas that did but you can’t tell too much on video. Thanks for watching and hope to see a video from you in the future!

    I have done a couple John Beckley inspired paintings also, I love his work! I think you captured it, Great Job! How do you like using the pipette over other splatter methods? Keep On Abstract ✌🏼

      Toni Moore Hey!! Thanks for the love! I do prefer the pope the over most other splatter methods. I fee I have more control over the splatter. Pallets knives are a close second though.

    Love the layering process. At some points I wasn't sure the colours were going to work, but it came together in the end and looks great. Good job.👍

    the last step you did with the black how did u mix rhe oaint to get it to flow so good from the bottle..

      I add water to the paint to thin it out! You should technically use paint thinner but that’s too expensive

      @@DailySav I ask because when I use masking tape for some reason the paint tends to creep under the tape so my straight lines end up being jagged instead of clean.

    The technic is good but by the end i find the work rather contrived, nothing new here, nothing unique or personal. You can buy such paintings made in Vietnam or China at Ross or Target. True abstract art is not just a random mix of nice colors

    Make it your own. I’m a rookie too but I would suggest that you maybe not put the dots it’s like part of his trademark or signature. I like what you did and you look like you was having fun.

    I think you did great.... May i suggest something in the end.... Maybe use a lighter color when you streak across.... Like white....the black looked nice going across everyone but I think something light would have popped out nice... Good job though....

    he followed a JB tutorial literally step by step. the original video was even playing on his notebook. that is the opposite of being creative imho. why post this video? to prove that he can copy paste a very simple painting?

    What kind of tape and paint are you using to get crisp lines like that? I've been trying with acrylic paint and using duct tape and tried painters tape and both bled through.

      I use standard masking tape and it still bleeds through slightly. I’ve found that if you put the masking tape down and then use a heat gun the tape locks on stronger to the canvas and allows for less bleeding of the paint.

    How long did you wait for the layers / colors to dry before adding a new color so they don’t totally run?

      It depends! Without my heat gun it can take a few hours but with my heat gun I can dry it within 5-10 minutes

    That was pretty impressive!
    How do you keep your edges so clean? My problem is that always some paint gets under the duct tape :/ Any advice? :)

      I tend to use a a heat gun to help the tape stick, as well as trying to paint in the general direction of the tape so that it has a lesser chance of getting under the tape. Hope that helps!
