I’m from Maine born and raised and in the late 70s I worked at the Johnson Space Center for awhile, I have never met so many friendly people in one state in my life. Texas could be my second home. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for joining us for today's episode, friends! If you are in the central Texas area we HIGHLY recommend stopping by Pedernales Falls State Park! Let us know if you've ever been here before and make sure to hit that THUMBS UP before you go! Have fun out there!
Water level looks way down. Back in 2015 the level was probably 20 feet higher. I've caught good size catfish in those holes in the rocks. And have you thought about a "dead cat" to help with that wind noise?
Went there a few times when I was a kid on family vacations (in the early 90's). Either they allowed swimming around the falls back then or my dad was more of a rebel than I thought and just didn't care, but I 100% remember sliding down the falls and having a BLAST.
Park is between Austin and Fredericksburg off of Hwy. 290. It is in a relatively dry state in the middle of the summer. Heavy rains in the Hill Country west of the park cause the Pedernales River to flow heavy, even good for white water rafting and capable of killing unsuspecting swimmers. The river feeds into the Colorado River at Lake Travis above Mansfield Dam. Beautiful area and great for camping in spring and fall. Summer can get pretty hot!
Hey yeah, I love Pedernales Falls! I used to go there back in the 70's. I don't know what the protocol is now but every once in a while back then they would blare a siren to let people know that they were fixing to open the flood gates. That was to let people know to get out 'til it was done then it was safe to re-enter! It was so fun and beautiful!
Have been in parts of central Texas but haven't been there but as hot as it been here that water looked real good. Thanks for the video and the footage of the area is awesome. From Spring, TX
@@mariahcraig7298 i agree. how is that any different from the petroglyphs from thousands of years ago? I mean, thousands of years from now they may be discovered by a totally different species and have them baffled and wondering what it all means?? lol. hey...it could happen....:)
We went back in April of this year. Very nice place to visit and camp overnight. I tell you what, I was very close to just jumping into those pockets of water. Crystal clear water!
I've never been there. Wish I had, not able to now. Thanks for taking us. Looked like so much fun. AJ's funny. Although the word RATTLESNAKE!!! came to mind when you were in those holes😬🐍Give Buzz and Brady some lovin for me.😁🐾🐾❤
we just camped at pedernales last weekend, there was more water at the falls than in this video, one of the holes yall climbed through we found a 3 foot gar swimming in! cool video!!!!
My wife and I went there last summer during our honeymoom trip to Austin. I used to go there when I was a kid. I remember the water fall was roaring and we used to slide down it. Not much water now!
What a wonderful video, thanks very much for showing it to us. Seems like it would be a nice place to spend a few hours walking around, but I think it would be much too hot for me.
Yeah... if you go a little bit past the designated swimming area, there's a trail and "crossing", I forget the name... but it's on the park map. That's where I always took my daughters swimming. If this park is new to you... then look up Hamilton Pool. It's nearby and gorgeous. But go early if it's on the weekend. They limit the number of people that can be in the park at a time and it fills up quickly.
Y'all should've found Arrow head pool its an awesome local spot. Its a small deep swimming hole with large cliff above it but the creek feeding into it is also really cool and a nice small hike.
It was not captioned so I not get to understand what was said but it was a beautiful video. I did feel claustrophobic in the rocks bahahaha I laughed when that guy came out unexpectedly. Looks like y’all had a wonderful time. Enjoy the rest of trip
Thank you for watching! Sorry no captions, I wish I could figure out how to do them without having to manually type every one to the video in a separate app. 🙁 -Blair
Nice job we. Just spent the 4 th down the road from there have u guys been to inks lake it’s a state park. In burnet Texas. Get a state park pass n go to as many parks as u can. Lol lov it 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Love all your videos! I take off in November as a FT'er. I hope to see you guys on the road sometime. If I may suggest one thing before I go though, could you please clean your camera sensor. As a photographer those little shadow spots in the sky kill me. lol Thanks and keep up the good work!
Excellent video! Thanks for exploring and sharing it with us. This park is being added to my 'to do' list. I have to ask though, what month did you guys go, and were there any snakes - on land and/or water? I'm a scaredy cat girl from the city!
Ah yes, there is a designated swimming area, but not in the actual 'falls' section. We didn't get to go this time, but we will be back soon, I'm sure! -Blair

The Wandering Wyatts we will, we are headed to Cleburne State park this week. We just got back from Pagosa Springs 2 weeks ago, one of our favorites.
Amazing! You make it seem so easy to walk this. How long was the time frame to explore this?
Excellent video! Thanks for exploring and sharing it with us. This park is being added to my 'to do' list. I have to ask though, what month did you guys go, and were there any snakes - on land and/or water? I'm a scaredy cat girl from the city!

Yes, just wondering why you didn't get in to the river. ( nice video)
Swimming isn't allowed in that part of the park. We totally would have if we could!
Can you swim in that water or is the ph too far off?
The sign said you can’t get in... 😫😫
There is a section that is for swimming. Was to cold when I visited but great weather for hiking.
Ah yes, there is a designated swimming area, but not in the actual 'falls' section. We didn't get to go this time, but we will be back soon, I'm sure! -Blair
If i had been to pedernales falls i would still be in texas

Why didn’t y’all get in the water?
