The one thing that it took me YEARS to recently realize is the power of restraint in waiting to play a note. It’s tough to not just robotically play on the downbeat, and just holding a note for an extra little pause before hitting it is super effective. I saw a couple notes you used in the example that were very tasteful restraint moments and that’s the kind of stuff I’m really trying to work on with my own playing

Good info vids by any instructor always fail to sub-par when camera is below frtbd, body tilted back to torso, headstock shooting off into the upper-right corner of screen. Fingers completely cover strings & frets, viewers waste time deciphering the details. Jack Ruch and others finally took note of this fault, leveled up w/ a straight-on shot of the horizontal frtbd.
And puh-leeze don't ever use the lameAF frtbd graphic with the nut to the right like scott paul johnson, andrew clarke, & others. Totally jack-ass BS.
