Great video. Worked for my Tp Link X20 Deco router. The cloud settings for content filter just dont block anything. Configuring the DNS for IPv4 and setting content filter really helps!!
it's because your router knocks on the door of the opendns server with its public IP address, therefore the server knows which sites to block based on that IP address, that he had added to his opendns profile.
I am so at a loss on how to get this to work without having to pay for something. This no longer works on regular netgear routers. You have to purchase one of their parental control routers if you want to do this. It's so frustrating.
this is for a small simple home network setup with one router that handles the dns, and laptops and phones on that wifi in general use the router's dns setting.
@@avishkarghadge509 i have opendns and noip accounts created and added both to dnsomatic. Also I edded noip to my huawei router (there is no ddns dnsomatic or opendns services in my router) I must manually update my ip in opendns dashboard every time my ip changes. How to enable this thing to do automatic update?
@@fanaticoss12345 not sure but somewhere in the three settings there is option for dynamic IP but I'm not sure I have been using it for few hours it is late here will reply you in 12 hrs if I get something
hey Mensur go into the dashboard settings of opendns on left side you will see advancecd setting it will have option of Dynamic IP Update and save changes this should do I guess good luck lets win nofap forever
Check you ip in not static as you will have internet DNS not dhcp. Just forget the connection and reconnect. It might also be using the mobile network not your wifi

VPN's cannot be blocked. most likely you need to setup host based IPS in your work environment to prevent users from executing or browsing vpn
I didnt understand, how my router knows to choose my network on the openDNS server? since I use the same openDNS server as anyone?
