Something i like to do when i see them fall for this a couple of times, is to only throw lows like law's ↙️3 for instance like 5 times in row just to test how in their head i am. While not the same, street fighter 6 has a similar concept with the whole throw loops situation. I dont play sf6 but i have a friend that does and we talk about this stuff all the time
tbh i always do it the wrong way im seeing someone doing something for 2 times and i think this time they gonna go mid know only to eat the 3rd hellsweep xd
I already know it works because I've fallen for it before. Get hit by two lows. Third time I'm thinking "alright I'm blocking this time." Then, I get launched
Awesome guide. Would be super helpful to get a vid with several more way we can set these up with Azu. Im terrible at these, and feel like i come up with the worse setups.
It’s like I fought opponents who watched this video lol. I see this so often. Or if you hard read the first time and let’s say it was a low, I bout know the next time, it will be a mid, unless insane is just your style lol
Your presupposition was this: "People recognize something as a pattern when it's done thrice." So how is your conclusion, "build a pattern in your opponent's mind by doing the same thing twice?" Your method might have some merit to it, but the way you get to your conclusion is illogical. BTW, I have a MS in psych and have never heard of "the rule of three." Still, I like your video, and there certainly is something to creating patterns and breaking them in the psychological aspect of fighting games. I would have preferred to see you commentate over some of your real matches, pointing out the patterns you built and then capitalized on.
Hey thanks for commenting! I first heard of the rule of 3 on highschool psych, I never took anything further than that haha yeah like you suggested, I was thinking of adding a gameplay section to the video but I ended up just putting it out as is instead. I think I will make a spiritual follow up video of that instead in the near future framing it as "what I think about during a rank match"
It's "People identify a pattern. And when the same thing happen twice, they expect it to happen a third time". Hence the rule of 3 name. So what you want to do, is make them notice the pattern, and as they're brain gets primed to expect the third hit, that's when you don't do it. That's not an absolute rule, but that' goes for a lot of things as said in the video. When a movie gets a follow up, you pretty much expect another sequel already, as subconsciously you already expect it to be a trilogy.
finally a guide
More to come 🫡
as a hardstuck tekken god this is gonna help a lot
I just found your channel, this is some gold content my friend, thank you!
Wow for a short video. this is so in depth!! am subbing right now 🔥

You can do that with any string or move.
I do that with db3+4. for me it's the greatest anti pressure tool in the game.

As a person stuck in Warrior guess I’m all psychology and no skill 🙂↔️
