The office I work in is in Toronto and I was at work the day this happened.
I remember receiving frantic calls from my Mom, my Dad and my siblings who were worried that I might possibly be hurt. Fortunately, my office wasn't in the North York area of Toronto.
This attack had absolutely nothing to do with video games. This guy rented a van and drove about 45 minutes from his home to North York in order to kill people. It was a targeted attack on women as witness reports said that he was driving in a way that seemed like he was specifically targeting women as he drove although men were also killed and injured.
This guy was a pathetic loser incel who was angry at women because they weren't interested in him. He's also a coward because he expected that the police would kill him after he was stopped. He pretended to draw a weapon after he crashed the van and shouted to the officer to shoot him in the head. He thought he'd kill these people and then become an incel martyr.
People may think that's a harsh description of him but that's how I see him.
I hope he rots in jail for the rest of his miserable life.

I think autistic individuals that have more difficulty to discern common sense and the reasoning behind laws or have very omnipresent struggles in their life regarding their ability to fit in should absolutely not be subjected to any of these kind of semi-cults that exists on the internet.
It takes one impulsive fed up a$-hole or a disconected individual that desperately needs to fit in -in a group- that are fed hateful bullsh** daily by their "peers" and it might end up this way.
Way to go to misogynistic lowlives that actually use the vulnerability of clueless misfits to carry out their deeds and go down for them..
Autistic we dont "develop properly" from a neurotypical point of viee we keep somewhat of a child's brain in certain area..
And his obviously was his sense of discerning right from wrong as opposed to "good or bad" he was too childish in terms of social to actually go unsupervised on the internet.
Doesnt seem like he wasnt instructed a strong sense of moral neither and by that i mean with us its an extra step.
My mom is a perfectionist in terms of moral values and etiquette.. So i kinda turned into some kind of ethics police.
Because we tend to follow rules when they are clear obvious and kinda strict.
So maybe ppl didnt realized he needed that extra step of "this is wrong but this wronger and this is absolute evil but this is absolutely never and worse.
Like he seems to know its "bad" but bot at what level of bad it is.
And I kinda feel sorry for him being so disconnected..
He might end up fully catching up to what he did one day if he develops a stronger sense of morals or empathy
Or realize female on the spectrum also exist.. And would've probably be more open and okay with his personnality.
He is greatly immature. And if he does mature one day he WILL realize the monstrous act he commited.
He's not a sociopath. And it wasnt under an emotionnal impulse.
It was a complete lack of common sense mixed with immaturity cluelessness.. Some resentment fueled by his "peers" a stronger need to "fit in" than a regular individual and a fixated interest on his own shame fueled by his peers.
He wont have that anymore.. So im confident his acts will catch up to him..
But well it was his duty to be self aware of his difficulties and act accordingly and try to discern what was an external idea influencing him on a wrong path.
This is why its also important to teach ppl to open up... Specifically introverts, neurodivergent and ppl struggling with nental health issue..
If someone had known he was that hurt by his incel they couldve help him in a way healthier way.

They need to keep the focus of this trial on what HE did, and his only hope is to get it *off* of what he did, and onto his mental capacity or his sanity, or his being pressured or something equally irrelevant to the facts of what he actually *did* to all those people. So they treated him very, very carefully to give him no opportunity whatsoever to complain later about how he was treated.

This detective is good, does anybody realize how hard it is to get someone with Asperger to even talk normally? My niece has Asperger and since I am one of the extremely few she will talk to I know how difficult it can be, the key is finding common ground or ask about what hobby they have, when you have either of these keys they will open up and talk forever if you let them. They wanted to make sure every possible i was dotted and t was crossed, so that his lawyers couldn't make anything out of it. That's why, every time they left the room to have him use the rest room or talk to a lawyer, the detective begins when they get back by running through everything that happened while they were out, getting him to acknowledge that those were the only things that happened, and that nobody else talked to him or vice versa. I was ten minutes away from this when it happened. The panic that happened there with people close to the scene was beyond words can describe. People were running frantically including me. I would never forget this horrible moment as long as I live. This dude was on a long list of anti psychotic drugs that he had an insane reaction to as his mother described it from her perspective. In other words, when he drove around hitting people, it was like he was in that video game.
I don't think the channel owner thinks that this guy is the way he is bc of video games.its more of a figure of speech that summarizes his actions.

After his evil comes the people, the rush to help, to save, to just hold those who needed holding. It's crazy isn't it. Peace and thoughts to all. 🇦🇺

He never tried to shut down or anything and the detectives are allowed to talk to him even after he requests a lawyer. US detectives would have had to close the interrogation until the lawyer was present or they run the risk of the case being thrown out seeing as that’s illegal to do in America.
