Omds 😍 aquired 6 this year, 3 more to arrive. Gorgeous little wobblys. I love them more everyday. Cant wait to see how they develope. Short tailed ones all the way 😁
Have fun!
I’ve kept high end Fancy Goldfish for 12 years, I have 21 Tamasaba and Japanese Koi from some of the best breeders.
In the days when I used to attend goldfish shows there was always an argument or discussion about rates of growth some breeders for instance got their Bristol Shubunkins ,I have one left that lives with my koi ! To grow extremely quickly. This always favoured those breeders in the class that age of fish belonged to in shows .
One argument that swayed me was that to grow them a little more slowly allowed the bone structure to develop in tandem with the muscle growth of the fish . I found some fish that were grown too quickly could become weak and unbalanced. Some of these breeders were retired and fed ridiculous amounts of food daily and used sponge filtration. Obviously you have state of the art filtration and all year feeding with makes a difference, mine are growing slowly and steadily being outdoors I can’t grow them as fast as I’d like but I’m sure they will get there eventually
Yeah I've eased off a little this year, the heavy feeding causes chaos with those that turn out to be female.
Hi Ricky, amazing growth as always. Would love a couple in my koi pond...Thanks for the insight
My pleasure
Tamasaba is a love for life :-)
Calico and Sarasa Tamasaba
👍
If the arch of the backbone is not as high as it should be then the fish is a Saboa . Both Saboa and Tamasaba are descendants from the Ryukin which was crossed with a now extinct goldfish variety called the Syounia which was a slim bodied goldfish much like a common or a comet and as hard as nails . A pity it’s extinct now .
Good information on the history.
Looking forward to this all day
Thanks for watching!
Were they going to mate ,the ones you discard
I need one of these for my pond now 😃
They really are cracking little fish.
Amazing quality and size!
They are awesome little fish, I knew I had to bring some back from Japan!
@@KoiWholesale next time you are going, is it possible to order some big ones?
Ricky can you do a more indepth version ide like to know more
Be interesting to know what the max size they can achieve? And would they live as long as orandas, moors and Calico's? Very interesting little things
whats the biggest size they grow to in japan
In the UK would these need a pond or a large aquarium?
I believe you can keep them in both. I currently have them in my indoor tank but they can live outside in a pond.
I’ve had them in a uk pond for years now. Hardy fish!
Currently have 6 in a grow on & 13 coming to join them next week. All happy & growing well
Evening, little fat wobbly goldfish😂 I didnt think they were for me, but there are a couple in there that keep catching my eye🤔
They're not everyone's cup of tea, but they really are cracking little fish. If one or two keep catching your eye then maybe give one a try!
@RSNishikigoi i am convinced mate, the more I see them, the more I see their character, and they make me smile😁
Marmite of the fish world colours amazing fish erm not my cup of tea 😂
It would be a boring place if we all liked the same things.
@@KoiWholesale very true there like umpa lumps of fish world stunning colours tho
