Intense rainfall and severe flooding that has battered China since early June 2020, has affected tens of millions of people and left at least 140 dead or missing. The Three Gorges Dam that spans the Yangtze River has been put to the test in terms of its ability to control floods along Asia’s longest river. But why have floods across a large region of China been so severe in the summer of 2020?

china built dozen of dams to control the water flow of all big rivers include Mekong which cross 5 other countries. Vietnam this year has suffered the worst drought and saltwater ever, because the water level of Mekong is too low, millions of people don't have enough water for living or farming for months. This is karma for what china have done to us.

i worked with Asians in Bell Laboratories Headquarters in the USA. most Indians and Chinese lack common sense, and it explains why Once Prestigious companies like this started dying as more and more of these people were hired. i would say this started in the mid 1990’s as they flooded here when the .com boom started
So is this channel now gonna ignore the fact that Chinese stopped all the water in their precious dams that flows into 10 (I guess 17 is highest) Southeast Asian countries out of which some 4 to 5 countries suffered drought, And then Chinese officials lied about the fact that they had done this on purpose and blamed nature for low rainfall even after satellite images proved them guilty. That massive storing and Rainfalls built up more pressure that caused massive floods and has now exposed that about some 90,000 dams in china are on a verge of collapse due to no maintenance over the past many years.
I'll say this is KARMA, not just for what they did to other human civilizations but even a revenge by Mother Nature.
(They blamed the nature even though they were destroying it themselves by rapid massive DAMS)

This is the first I have heard about flooding in China being a problem this year. No major news outlet in the US is covering this flooding at all. The only reason I had heard about it, is when somebody told me yesterday. This was 3 weeks after this video was posted. Today is August 13, 2020 for reference.

In India too, the overflow of Bhramaputra (part of YANGTZE river in India) has resulted to floods and my Assamese and Arunachali brothers are heavily affected due to these floods. Hope both the countries overcomes this difficult situation.

Question: Would removing "hydro cost" from all citizens in targeted affected areas and have them "leave the home water running" help deplete some of the flood effects?
(Not an expert but I do expect China to a well-developed drainage system to protect their major cities from natural disasters like "Tokyo which has 6.4 kilometers of tunnels to counter flood" but since the flood level in some area doesn't seem to be going down (fast enough) could mean that either drainage is over-capacitated or that it is able to handle a high volume of fresh floods but is exceedingly difficult when it's combined with muddy water that contributed to plug.
Personally, I believe there are far too many dams and have a negative effect on downstream countries that relays on them.
Other countries may potentially go to War over Water (e.g Egypt) by mid-2020s so a cooperative talk on how to share the resource (based on the population and NOT financial contribution) could yield better results than the need to enter a negotiation with an upper hand.
For people I know that live in China; I pray for floods to cease and for sunny weather to take in its place by the end of July month.

This is just the beginning. There will be more occurrences of flash floods and droughts due to climate changes. China should look into inter-provinces water pumping network to transfer extra water to areas that hv less rainfall.
