I'm from Arizona and enjoying the channel. I have a second home near Gulf Shores and have also registered a boat in Foley, so it was cool/ironic to hear you mention it, plus to see you and your family hang out on the same little islands in Orange Beach that we often do.
Hey Andromeda, this is the crew of Sizzle. We made it to Whitehall this morning. Looks like we beat you to Ludington! 😂 Hope you guys enjoy the rest of your trip though, it was great meeting you guys at the canal!
HELLO!!! We were watching you guys on marine tracker! We crossed our wake last Friday. The Great Lakes kept us on our toes as always, Hope to see you guys again! Great meeting you all! :)
Yes!! Some of the docks, with the tide swings were hard to get in and out! Especially for Ollie....We have that on our to do list! Thank you for watching :)
I was a young kid in the 70s and one of my favorite shows was the Dukes of Hazard. So, my vote for the dingy name is one of my favorite characters on the show.....Uncle Jesse! It just kinda rolls off the tongue. I'm taking Uncle Jesse to shore to get a few things.....be back in a minute!
Looks like a beautiful ride. Glad you had Lake Michigan boating experience. Lots of ocean/gulf boaters are surprised when they see how challenging the Great Lakes can be. We are veteran Lake Erie and Lake Superior boaters and have not been surprised by the gulf seas…..
So glad you made the crossing! Everyone has to do The Loop in their own way, and this is yours. I hope your time in the Bahamas will be plenty, though. Goooo Andromeda!!!!! (& Weezy!😂)
Those are the days that you tell yourself that you spent the day at the county fair....and you really didn't mind that rolla-costa ride, really....... glad all going well for you. 🍻🍻💙🦘🦘🦘
Poor Ollie’s pitiful little face, saying “get me back to dry land!” We saw that on Bailey so often. We just returned from a 9-day cruise bringing our newly-purchased boat from east of Cleveland to Suttons Bay…a great adventure, and a great crash-course in learning about the boat, and a trip it would have been impossible to do with Bailey. Giving us the opportunity to do it was Bailey’s final gift to us. 💕🐾Congrats on a successful crossing - huge mnilestone!!
Glad you are all well. The big rollers are NO fun. Been out there when that happens and was always glad to get back into port. Be well my friends!!! Smooth seas for sure!!!!
You’re doing the exact thing we have been planning. I’m glad you said 9 hours from Carabelle to Clearwater and I often wondered how long it took to Bahamas and 6 days was more than I anticipated. Do you recall what your average fuel burn per hour to get to Clearwater was? I see your time and the knots before I got to the end. Just the fuel burn. The river walk area is our favorite spot
Hello from Justin, TX. Very cool and inspiring. Glad y’all are catching up to your friends. My brother in law and I have talk about doing the loop all the time and are still trying to convince our wives to do this with us. They are sisters. Anyway, I’ll live vicariously through y’all for now. Thanks for sharing. I look forward to the Bahamas xing!
It's good for you that the Gulf didn't turn nasty on you. An acquaintence made a similar crossing, several years ago, but in the opposite direction. The forecast was for one-to-two foot seas, yet the Gulf not paying attention to forecasts that day and gave them six-to-eights for a portion of the trip, as well as a big thunderstorm. They said that they would never do that again.
Oh wow! It was quite unnerving at times. You are truly so vulnerable when the weather changes! Glad they all made it back safe! Thank you for sharing :)
For what it's worth, in 1984 I took an underpowered 42 ft Post Sport fishing that barely made 10kts. from Ft.lauderdale to Carribelle. We stopped at Jewfish Creek, Ft Myers Beach, fueled up in Clearwater and made Carribelle overnight. We were young and stupid and ran 24hrs a day. This was before the internet and GPS navigation. Took that boat all the way to Memphis.
I liked the sit down and explanation of the “Rush”. I assumed that you would be attempting to reunite with Dreamer, could definitely feel it while you were on the hard. Looking forward to the next Leg.
It gets easier the more you do it, you’ve got a great boat enjoy the fruits of your labour and by the way Andromeda is performing beautifully so glad she gets to sail again look after her she won’t let you down
Hello! I remember them well, they were so nice!! They were the first people to recognize us, which we were so overwhelmed by! It was amazing :) Thank you for watching!
Bravo on your Gulf Crossing! Not bad sea conditions, uncomfortable yes, but not bad at all. Gotta say though, that with the 6-day schedule, you're gonna miss a lot of great seafood shacks along the Florida Gulf Coast. But you'll morre than make up for it with all the Bahamas has to offer.
No way I'm getting out of the sight of land. I'd be a port hopper, seeing Steinhatchie, Cedar Key, Crystal River, Hudson, any and all safe ports. Call me a coward?😂 Glad you made Clearwater safe and sound.
No cowards, just different paths! I am surprised, I really thought that was going to be my biggest challenge or fear was not seeing land.....But it was surprisingly peaceful! (I was pretty relieved) Thank you for watching!
We are taking the Mai Tai, GB 42, to Miami from Dauphin Island next year. Seems to me you are missing lots of good things to experience in your quest. The Sanibel, Marco Island and Dry Tortugas just to name three.
I've been looking forward to this episode. So cool to be out on the Gulf like that. I am curious to know how much fuel you started off with and how much you had left for this run.
Nothing required. When we return to fresh water, or if we were to stay in saltwater for a long time or permanently we would want to do a freshwater flush. We have special caps that fit on our sea strainers that allow a garden hose connection. We would run the engine that way to flush freshwater through. Thank you for watching! :)

Thank you so much for watching! Orange Beach / Gulf Shores is such a fun area! We loved all the walking trails!

looks like you need a step to put on the dock to help get in the boat. it looked like the admiral was struggling to get into the boat🙂
Yes!! Some of the docks, with the tide swings were hard to get in and out! Especially for Ollie....We have that on our to do list! Thank you for watching :)
Great leg of the trip... Glad you're in water where you can't see the shore again.
Thank you so much! We do like being out in the open waters! :)

Omg, I love this! "I am taking Uncle Jesse to shore....." I LOVE IT! Thank you :)

The Great Lakes are no joke! Lake Erie gave us quite the welcome as we headed back home! Thank you for watching :)
@@cruisingandromeda Lake Erie is always a bumpy ride!
100% truth right there! LOL
So glad you made the crossing! Everyone has to do The Loop in their own way, and this is yours. I hope your time in the Bahamas will be plenty, though. Goooo Andromeda!!!!! (& Weezy!😂)
Thank you so much! We appreciate your support (and humoring my obsession with Weezy lol) :)
Glad the seas got calmer for you! 🛥 Way to gooooo!!! 🎉No wonder you're catching up with everyone!!😅❤
Hahaha, Thank you so much! Bahamas were calling :)
You guys do such a great job with your videos. I have been binge watching them for three days now.
Thank you so much!! We appreciate you joining us on this adventure! :)

Yes, Ollie was a bit nerved up! Congratulations on your new boat! Hopefully we will see you on the water! :) Safe travels!

Thank you Tom! We appreciate your support more than you know! :)
I made that trip with my wife on our 30ft sailboat some 40+ years ago. Great experience.
Harold that is awesome! We have dreamed of sailing! Thank you for watching :)
At 91 I still love the water but TIME now limits me to follow those now having all the fun!
Be sure to stop at the Antler while in Pentwater! 😂
Thank you Brad! We did try our best! We appreciate you for watching :)

Hi Shawn! Thanks for watching. At 20 knots we are burning 42 gal per hour. Thanks for following along!
Pentwater would be one helllluva long day from Carrabelle!
Hahaha, yes! It took me a minute to process what he said lol. Thank you for watching :)

Glad all is well ! Bumpy ride but y'all arrived safe 😊 hope you picked up a couple of new belts ? The adventure continues 😊😊😊
Thank you! We do have extras on board thankfully! Our inventory list has been a huge help! Thank you for watching :)
It is great to see you are making some headway with your voyage! I look forward to the next episode!
Thank you for watching Ronnie! We appreciate it :)
Nice video guys. It’s great to see you progressing into your next leg. Safe boating to you both!
Thank you so much! We appreciate your support! :)
I liked the sit down and explanation of the “Rush”. I assumed that you would be attempting to reunite with Dreamer, could definitely feel it while you were on the hard. Looking forward to the next Leg.
Thank you Rich! We appreciate your support! :)
Nice video. The crossing is so much better in a 17-knot boat than in a 7-knot boat. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you John! We completely agree! It is nice to have the flexibility in speeds when you need it!

Thank you Jeffery! We are finding our groove again for sure!
You met my Aunt and her husband…Tanya and Dan( Crimson Tug).

I've been looking forward to this episode. So cool to be out on the Gulf like that. I am curious to know how much fuel you started off with and how much you had left for this run.
We carry 510 gallons, we burned about 300 gallons
What did you have to do to the engines to switch from fresh water to salt water? Love your channel!

What was your fuel burn for that run?
+/-300 gallons
@@cruisingandromeda Thanks!
Dingy name: Flipper
OOOOOOh, I love it! :) Thank you for joining us! :)
What happened to your big orange fender balls. I notice you now have white ones.
We deflated them for this part of the trip. We only used them for the locks. Thank you for watching :)
