A major undertaking on your part, but as usual, you knocked it out of the park. The doors are impressive and a beautiful addition to the house.

Love the look of white oak. Always learn new things when I watch your videos Mike, and appreciate the time and effort you put into making them. The doors look fantastic.

Very nice Mike! The white oak looks great with that design. I love your, almost hidden, nuggets throughout your videos - the tip at the jointer marking “I” and “O” to ensure a perfect join for the book matched boards for example :) and so many more. Thanks for creating and sharing!

I've made five doors, in a very similar method. So I was glad to see this video as a comparison. Great content. And I learned some things as well some improvements! Thanks.

    Hey Mike.
Great work on the doors. You have now set a record for the loudest sweater on UA-cam 2024.
    Challenge accepted!
My next intro will be visually captivating, wardrobe wise.
    Merry Christmas

Great sweater sir! Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas! As an extra I would add a seal for the door.

Great video Mike. You make it look so easy. Just one comment if I may, I made a screen with the same joinery method and found if the mortise “wall” is too thin and the tenon on the rail is too tight the mortise wall will split away due to the direction of the grain. You obviously had the correct ratio for that not to happen. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Thanks for sharing your experience. You typically want the tenon to be about 1/3 of the overall thickness. There's always a chance of splitting the side walls of the fit is super tight, especially depending on the type of wood. Happy holidays!
