When Cory Henry says it's the best piano sound he's heard come out of a computer and Herbie Hancock looks at you and say, "Congratulations." You know you've done something right.
I don't think anyone could overstate the importance of this project historically. It's not just a "product", it's a legacy. It's a living and universally accessible museum. I know that sounds corny, but how else is the character of these instruments going to survive history without the ability for people to feel what it is like to play them - or at least come as close as humanly possible. Just incredible. Musicians the world over should be grateful for this important work.
Not only that, you can now play these old instruments as never before with the quick expression from modern midi-keyboards, outplaying the old mecanics..😀

Bought it ! Right after installation I started going through the patches and I wasn't aware that the next minute was to come after 3 hours of playing and this is where I had to stop and head right to this box. The samples and the level of programing are top notch but I haven't seen a software instrument coming that close to the dynamic range of the real instrument it aims to recreate. That made me sometimes forget I was playing a software instrument and I can understand these reactions coming from the musicians on this video. This is not just a work of elaborate research, it is real instrument made by musicians who understand what musicians want. An instrument that makes them forget about everything unmusical and takes them right to creating ideas without much fuss and that's what the whole is all about. One thing that could be tackled in future upgrades is taking the pedal noise out of the reverb chain as it overpowers the sound on extreme settings. All said, this is a benchmark in digital creation of electromechanical instruments and the only thing missing on that thing is the smell of old wood, rugs and old furniture. Thank You Spectrasonics !
Spectrasonics are just the coolest I have to say. I can tell you guys are not just another VST company, but passionate musicians and engineers. The craftsmanship you put into your content is impressive.
@Maafa 1619 I think it's a joke based on the fact that no matter how much money you pay you're still not gonna learn to play the keys if you don't practice. Though if you don't mind paying an extremely high price, I hear Yamaha has self-playing grand pianos with internet streaming included. It's not a speaker, it's an actual grand piano with pianists playing the keys (which move automatically on your end, hammers and all) via the internet. The ultimate luxury. You're never gonna pull off recording something like Makrokosmos on those though. Though you can't on Keyscape either. Liking experimental music sucks sometimes.
The guys at Spectrasonics are genius with how they've put this ad for the library together. It plays out like a long music video - we're introduced to different personalities and playing styles, and each showcase of an instrument is interesting and fun to listen to. Watching the expressions on the players' faces makes you want to experience that yourself. I like watching this video to get some inspiration or purely as entertainment.

TehWinnerz - define “heavy weight”? Pretty sure Corey would smash any of those guys you just listed in gospel, funk, r@b, or neo soul. I have listened to everyone on that list so...yes In terms of jazz maybe he isn’t as straight on as those listed but he is with a question a “heavy hitter”. Jazz language isn’t thee only determining factor
@@tehwinnerz5006 Well, not playing avantgarde jazz (that 99,9% of all potential listeners would not choose to listen to) doesn't make your music automatically "easy listening" which is quite a condecending term. His appeal is his pure joy of playing and his strong emotion, something I miss with guys like Jason Moran, Craig Taborn or Vijay Iyer and also Keith Jarrett.

If you are on the fence about purchasing this one, I will tell you right now that this was one of the best purchases of anything I have ever made in my life. This piece of software is magnificent in so many ways. Many say that this is an expensive product, but for the value that you get out of this product I would argue that it is more than worth what you spend on it. Thank you Spectrasonics for all your hard work and for giving us this incredible piece of software!
I have this its very addictive. I cant even start to make music with out it. this is a outstanding virtual instrument. And I am huge bias fan of spectrasonic. they are the reason why I have a sound that I work so hard to create and I am from the era. That you have to make your own melody not using loops. Now no knock to any 1 that uses loop. I use loops to but at the same time. I think its important to make your own melody's. In majority of your production and I know keyspcape and omisphere is def go to I love it. Thank You! ♥♥♥ 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Eric Pershing. You have inspired me for a long time. You have done it again. I must work on my keyboard chops from this day forward. It is my time now! WOW!
I wish I can play Keyscape in my lifetime. Just my budget and computer can't handle it. Everything sounds great and awesome! Love watching videos that has Keyscape on it. God bless you, Sir Eric Persing!
The universe is now complete - Awesome work by the best in the business.. Surprised that there is not a discount for those of us that own all the spectrasonics software... That will not matter once it is installed... Leave the food by the door...
I've had this for about 5 months so far...and let me tell you, I'll probably never use ANY other piano VST out there again. The sound is JUST like the real thing, and playing it on a great midi piano with weighted keys and such...can't get any better in my opinion. Loving it :)
Boy am I behind the eight-ball 🤔 Those Rhodes sounds are perfect. I never got to hear any of the Wurlitzer’s but I bet they’re perfect. I need Keyscape!!
Watching Cory Henry at work gives me the same feeling as watching Guthrie Govan play guitar. A kind of ecstasy that there are people who can do this, blended with envy that I can't.
Wow, this just made my day. Such a product with such authentic replication of sounds will surely influence many artist music, more over the way they think about music.. Its like, in an age of processed fast foods, finding grandma's lost recipes.
When Cory Henry says it's the best piano sound he's heard come out of a computer and Herbie Hancock looks at you and say, "Congratulations." You know you've done something right.

A MoMA of keyboard sounds ! What a beautiful work ....would have loved to have been a part of it...
for me it's as much the fact that they restored the actual instruments then modelled them
Not only that, you can now play these old instruments as never before with the quick expression from modern midi-keyboards, outplaying the old mecanics..😀

Thank You! ♥♥♥ 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Eric! You are a beauty of nature! Thank you very much for this wonderful piece of art! :) And that infectious laughter of yours! :)))
26:53 best part and a living LEGEND
Such a joy to watch this over and over again!
That piece at 7:27 is absolutely gorgeous
Eric Pershing. You have inspired me for a long time. You have done it again. I must work on my keyboard chops from this day forward. It is my time now! WOW!
I wish I can play Keyscape in my lifetime. Just my budget and computer can't handle it. Everything sounds great and awesome! Love watching videos that has Keyscape on it. God bless you, Sir Eric Persing!
Ah! *Clavinet C!!!* ❤
FINALLY, somebody has done this with THIS Clavinet model! I am beyond impressed. ✔
Somebody at Spectrasonics: come to my house, put your hands in my pocket and take...my...money!
My gosh, love it. 💜
Varon de Dios! prepares para preparar nuevos presets frescos para el pueblo de Dios como siempre lo a hecho.
2:26 what a gesture❤️...she is surely a deep concert player man!!!
7:26 Hmm yeah, probably the most amazing little piece I've ever heard.
The playing at 7 .27 is absolutely outstanding
i have the sheet music on my channel :) shimmer balad
Spectrasonics always provided high quality samples and sounds!
*Throwing money at the screen*
Definitely the best modeling I've ever heard. Kudos to the team, seriously.
thanks for JD800 Crystal Rhodes - the most beautiful and amazing instruments - many thanks in Hungary in Budapest
I was initially underwhelmed when I heard this was a keyboard collection, but wow...really sounds beautiful.
The universe is now complete - Awesome work by the best in the business.. Surprised that there is not a discount for those of us that own all the spectrasonics software... That will not matter once it is installed... Leave the food by the door...
I've always wondered why there weren't any saxophone, trumpets, trombone basically wind instruments in omnisphere.
Maybe they are working on a string and horns library as well. Would be so awesome
Hearing the very 1st intro, I'm sold already lol.
‘You got some stuff men.. “ lol 😂 I love the expression & accent of that Rhodes player:)
14:06 - Is that 'The thrill is gone'?
It's so meaty! Gorgeous stuff.
I would LOVE to hear Ahmad Jamal on this!! And imagine if George Duke was still alive! MAN!!
George was a huge Spectrasonics fan and longtime customer...we miss him!
13:31 sooo good Cory
That does sound really good especially the Rhodes and Wurlitzer 💦
I love Cory and terrace as well, so much sauce
Holy shit Greg Phillinganes is a treasure. That level of charisma and performing ability reminds me of when I saw BB King live.
I just keep coming back to this demo, the talent is non-stop, the sounds are so authentic, irresistable.
I've had this for about 5 months so far...and let me tell you, I'll probably never use ANY other piano VST out there again. The sound is JUST like the real thing, and playing it on a great midi piano with weighted keys and such...can't get any better in my opinion. Loving it :)
Awesome! Thank you! :-)
Dude I play the drums, but watching a pianist still amazes me man.
Boy am I behind the eight-ball 🤔
Those Rhodes sounds are perfect. I never got to hear any of the Wurlitzer’s but I bet they’re perfect.
I need Keyscape!!
I could seriously watch this video over and over!
...and I have!
This should be a model for all future music releases. What a great video!
Those chords at 7:28 were amazing 🔥🔥
Does anyone know this guy's name? I want to hear more of his music!
Bout to chop en now LOL
i have the sheet music on my channel :)
@Seth Shifflet Thank you!
18:22 TO 19:12 is INCREDIBLE
Watching Cory Henry at work gives me the same feeling as watching Guthrie Govan play guitar. A kind of ecstasy that there are people who can do this, blended with envy that I can't.
Wow, this just made my day. Such a product with such authentic replication of sounds will surely influence many artist music, more over the way they think about music.. Its like, in an age of processed fast foods, finding grandma's lost recipes.
Congratulations to Spectrasonics, wow what a achievement! Great to have all these instruments of the past at reach.
