    I was never the hugest fan of Dwarf Neon Rainbowfish when I saw them in store but they've grown on me quite a bit after researching them. I'd really like to get a school of them in my new 40 breeder!

      That’s what I did! Absolutely love them to this day (obviously).
      Quick note however: they will often try to slip between decor as they swim, and if a decoration is next to the glass, they will not realize and can get stuck. Not too much of a problem to fix, but if you have snails, you will wake up to a living skeleton :(

    At 10:36 that plant looks to me like guppy grass. It also snook into my tank along with some other plants.

      Yes, it looks like you’re right. Although it hasn’t exploded in growth like I thought guppy grass did

      @MattKeepsFish interesting, mine has almost doubled in a month. I started with 1 stem about 4 inches tall and now it's like 9 inches or so

      @@Ashers_Art planted or floating? I float mine and use pretty high light. Fertilized once a week

    • @Ashers_Art
      @Ashers_Art 3 місяці тому +1

      @MattKeepsFish It was originally floating but when I planted it, it really took off. I also fertilize once a week with seachem flourish, and the substrate is just sand

      @@Ashers_Art Just sand? Alright I’m planting it for the next update lol

      Fair point, however their intelligence lends themselves to a range of personalities and mine was definitely at one extreme. That, or the Rainbowfish resembled something too close to an anabantid

      😅
      In reference to gecko care? Yes, I certainly do need to take my own advice.
      I took Junior home partially because I wanted to give him a bigger space, partially because I just wanted a gecko before I started school again.
      Junior is now in the process of being rehomed to an owner who can give him the recommended tank space for an adult crestie, and I am in the process of undoing my impulsiveness by letting the terrarium cycle the way it should have in the first place.
      It is an odd place to live. Working to give the completely inexperienced what they need to succeed with exotic animals, and yet trying to grow into a better animal keeper myself without any training.
      Trying my best though: learning from my mistakes, doing my research, staying humble to admit I’m wrong when I am, and knowing the price of proper care - even when it means undoing what I’ve started.
