Love Gary's story and all the "drama", but dang if John Kelly doesn't deserve a lot more coverage than he got. Dude is cool as a cucumber.
For sure brother both these guys are amazing respectively
After watching Gary train for the last year via his channel, damn near makes me cry everytime I see this clip. Congrats to Mr. Kelly and all participants willing to accept this brutal challenge.
This is most epic run ever. Only savage souls apply.🙏🏻🇨🇦
Three Steep Life's in one day has made this the greatest Friday of 2017. Thanks man.
Trying to get caught back up!
I figured that was the case, but it's still awesome!
Peter Rank I second that!!
Yes I know eh
Love the Barkley. Savage humans that attempt it!🙏🏻🇨🇦
Jamil-Thank you so much for these. For those of us glued to Keith Dunn's Twitter feed last weekend, these videos expand our experience and let us relive one of the greatest running stories once more. This time, though, we can see it rather than imagine it based on 140 characters.
In addition to the 5:00 mark here, Keith and his phone got some solid airtime in Steep Life 116. That was good to see.
Watching this gets me everytime...I hope Gary and Jamil make it through the when course next year.
Great attempt @ Barkley Jamil ! It was nice seeing the perspective of your race ! I can't even imagine the physical/ mental toughness to do this race ! My hat is off to you and the other competitors !
love Gary he's the best no matter what
Well clearly he isn't "the best" because he's failed at every attempt he's made at the Barkely and 15 other people have succeeded.
Wow three years later and a troll responds 💀📯
Every time I see this footage I get that lump in my throat, the heartbreak.
Great job this year Jamil! Tough lead up to the race this year but as always you inspire with your grit and determination. Super inspiring.
I've seen this finish from 19 different angles, just insane.
Chuck Norris has a fan-poster of Garry Robins on his wall.
I love it!!!
John Kelly that's awesome!!
Thank you!
This was a great "behind the scenes" video. Thanks!
Awesome vids Jam, thanks a lot for doing them
Gary added miles DAMN
Nice to see you up the trail a few minutes, experiencing the same HRRRNNNG that we were on Twitter.
Great vlog as always! Keep up the good work. Ca't wait for ginger runners doc to come out on this too. You two are awesome at this youtube thing. haha
Is north Bird mountain part of the Barkley.? Thanks I did it yesterday curious. Thank you.
Should have bugles Last Post for the second finisher; six seconds late! he deserved more than just Taps; Last Post would've been more appropriate, not a win, but Holy Shite! he MADE IT!
Quitter´s Road. Our daily excercise. The Non Starters always win everything...
Whats so appealing to me, in that moment, when you finish the entire thing, loop 5, and become a barkely marathon finisher... the entire world will hear what you have to say at least for that moment in time.
feel so sad for Gary...this has been one crazy year for Ultras...first Walmsley and his wrong turn and now Gary...so sad
Even they would urge you to focus on the successes rather than the failures...I think.
Wow, you looked so much better after you slept jeez
Honestly the amount of attention this guy got for getting lost and not finishing astounds me. Sure he has a sophisticated support network and a full film crew with him but really. Especially in comparison to the way in which the world seems to have ignored the amazing feat of a guy who did finish, who works a full time job without the massive support team and didn't show up with his own documentary crew because he wasn't arrogant enough to just assume he had it in the bag and want to secure some kind of cinema release out of it. I can't help but feel that John Kelly won because he did it right.
No matter what happens in the future, he will go down in history as one of the greatest runners in history: Jurek, Gebrselassie, and Gary Robbins. He's in the hall of fame.
Wow. That's amazing. Thanks for the video. I've just started getting into ocr's late in life and having a blast and I'm blown away by the endurance you guys have. Did you get to do the 2018?
garry looking like jeepers creepers
All kinds of wow..
What were the titles of some of the books this year? I get a kick out of the names.
No livestream today: Friday, November 27.
We’re heading out to find a Christmas tree.
I shouldn't have watched this before watching "Where the dreams go to die" :P
That poor guy at the end

Amazing and heartbreaking!

Missing it by just 6 seconds would be soul crushing... But to add a wrong turn to come in the wrong direction. Poor guy
Question: if Gary had come in a minute faster would he still be DQ’d for coming in the wrong direction per some rule of the race? If you or someone reading this knows….
I have sympathy for Gary, but I'm glad that they didn't change the rules.
I think the rules are unyielding as they should be.
Definitely!
Gary's epic failure is more memorable than John's finishing, especially because he knew exactly what he was doing, until the end.
No one has completed the Bs since JK (who is remarkable for his modesty) ...shows what a feat this is.
There's drama every year because this is race is ridiculous. You need a damn doctorate to even know where to run.
He could hardly speak
Geez, learn how to focus
this laz is perverse to the core.Amazing how people like to submit
