So I made a bunch of predictions about video games, about xbox, about playstation, nintendo, and even not nintendo in late 2022 about 2023.
Most of them were wrong, so I'm gonna go over them and laugh at myself.

So disliked, and possibly not recommended, and ALSO even if I have the sponsor skipper, I WON'T be bothered watching this video, and ALSO ALSO the sponsor isn't good, because it's stupid, and lazily placed in, and also also the War Thunder is ALREADY the worst part of the video, not you suffering with your predictions which I think were right (not really). Also did you even played that game? Because I think you haven't, and I didn't see a non-sponsor mention on your channel (I do understand money and that crap, but come on mate)
And also, it appears this video was out way after Christmas, because I can see a snail with an elf outfit, a reindeer one, and the Grinch one.

God that sponsor segway was flawless. It looks so awkward 99% of times when content makers try to make those transitions as seamless as possible, but they can't keep it substantial throughout the whole thing, so you're instantly made aware they're blabbering away from the point they had a few second ago, and you just know what's coming next.
A sincere, momentary, bang-on-the-head sponsor opener is way more honest and respectful in my opinion.

To be fair, the whole EA acquisition came from the CEO announcing that they are looking for buyers. All of them failed to mention that his one condition would be that he'd stay in charge of both companies, which is wild and I have no idea what company would take it. Deinitely not Disney.

Honestly I dont mind the predictions being wrong. Its actually good that you do them because for the most part your predictions are based in reasonable Logic. Even if they are wrong its good hearing your reasoning behind them shows a certain school of thought. And its quite enjoyable and refreshing
I didn’t feel like prediction video content needs to be amazingly accurate, but it is better that, they are thought-provoking and reasonable reasonably likely, I’d say don’t beat yourself up over it

I would make the argument that what you do on the channel is entertain us with gaming "news" and commentary. I'm not holding your feet to the fire over what tech companies do or don't do my dude!

I was literally correct in ALL my predictions this year. I just look at history because it tends to repeat itself. I study the weather patterns, stars, economy, and world politics. Then I don't try to make predictions

Predicting the future is betting against god in that even the best will get it wrong 90% of the time since in order to predict the future accurately we need to be practically omniscient. Love your channel, keep up the good work and have a happy new year!
didn't the PSVR2 not let you play games from the regular PSVR?
not really a reason to upgrade if there's nothing to play, nor can you even play your existing library at higher resolutions/framerates/etc.

I do respect keeping yourself honest like this, but really, some of those predictions were absurd even back then, man. I mean stuff like Starfield and CoD were reasonable, but have you ever _met_ a VR enthusiast? They don't care about console VR at all, least none of the ones I know!

I'm surprised Demons Souls hasn't been ported to the PC. It seems like a good fit. Granted, Bloodborne hasn't come to PC either. No idea why. It's not like FromSoftware is shy about PC ports and a lot of Sony titles have already made the leap.
Just wanted to say, predict away! If nothing else, it's a lot of fun to look back and see what came true and what didn't. It's like your videos looking at the world of tomorrow stuff, or the other future predictions! And not everything you predict is wrong because you were wrong, but because conditions or direction changed. So yeah, I vote more prediction videos.

No one is watching the predictions thinking you have a crystal ball. People are watching because they want to hear the thoughts and opinions that form those predictions.
Honestly... I'd love that Xbox controller thing to be real. Could you imagine emulating Dreamcast with a screen on an actually comfortable controller??
The Audio is super quiet on this. My phone is at max volume and I still can barely hear it compared to other people's videos who amplify their audio.
Imma be real with you, Whimsu. Getting 15/31 predictions for an entire *year* correct...is REALLY fucking good. Like my guy, predicting the future is VERY difficult, way harder than people think. You could say it's a 50% success rate, but remember that these aren't true/false questions. You had to actively pay attention to the industry, and make specific predictions, when literally *anything* can happen over the course of 365 days. And remember, that's a 50% success rate while being *very* conservative with your bar for "accurate prediction". There were at least a few of those predictions that did come true, just not in the exact way you said it would.
And moreover, I give you some fucking credit for going back to your predictions and calling out when you were wrong. I trust a forecaster who is willing to risk making more outlandish predictions, then own up to when they failed, more than one who is ultraconservative, and ignores when they were wrong. There are actual journalists looking at this industry (with more access than you), who don't do that.
And speaking of "Oh I was just extrapolating based on the reporting at the end of the year" Bro that is *literally* what forecasting is. What the fuck else were you supposed to use? You got a 50% sucess rate with *open source data*.
So don't beat yourself up, dude, honestly, you did REALLY well, and even when you missed, you owned up to it.

I mean I can't speak for everyone, but I wasn't exactly keeping a tally of your predictions. Like, what I mean is, I kinda don't care if you shit the bed on every single prediction you make, they all seem like genuine realistic speculation with the information you have available to you at the time. And if not, you usually specify (like the Nintendo/Ubisoft one). It doesn't seem like you make predictions for clicks is what I'm saying lol.

Im fine with the way it all went down, except Starfield only being good and not great. That really hurt. But the more i think about the way Bethesda has been making games since Fallout 4, the more i realized i expected more than i should have. Hopefully Todd Howard doesnt have as much control over the next phase of the game lol

Why did you leave out the prediction that the world would end on the 21st December 2023?
If anything, the AAA video games industries are gonna be in their bleakest voyages, with how both music and console games definitely did not define 2023 very much.
My expectations are now tempered down to very few releases onwards.

Prediction may not be your strong suit. It's not most peoples strong suit. However, I believe you excel at providing broader context to situations and news. You're excellent at taking complicated topics within the industry and making them more digestible to mainstream audiences as well.

Technically the OLED Steamdeck does have better performance. In the terms of battery life, at least (and technically better visuals because of the true blacks)
