This song played on the local college station quite a lot right when it came out but I never caught the name of the artist. It's rattled around my head on occasion for the past 20 years. Every few years I'd try to hunt it down & tonight I finally found it!
Yeh this band is amazing and truly deserved way more success. You probably know Spiral Stairs (the guy crawling in the music video) as the guitarist from Pavement.

I agree, and it's not that I'm a royale.
As amazing as Pavement were, it was not often they would bust out such a gloriously indie-poptastic chorus as this one. I remember this being released and being in a room containing some staunch Pavement fans (the ones who were, like, totally over Cut Your Hair etc) when it came on MTV2 and it caused so much amusement and joy. Had this been on the sixth Pavement album, how could it not have been their "PROPER" "HIT" "SINGLE". Come on!
