Hey Mr platinum. I watch your videos all the time. I think your videos on ford explorers are the how to video bible for explorers. I have a special love for explorers despite how so many people hate them. I have 2 explorers, 1 is a 2002 and the other a 2006. The engine in the 2006 is shot so I was wondering if I can put the 2002 explorer engine in the 2006 vehicle. If so would it be difficult to do so, because of extra work to make things work.

Think this is my next step, have an 06 4.0l eddie blower, replaced plugs, wires, air filter, egr, battery, tps connector. Last night engine stalled, couldnt get it to go without repeatedly stepping on accelerator, almost like there was no response. Once I got it up to 2k rpm I could drive, but engine would not idle and stalled as soon as I slowed down to a stop. Took me like 3 hours to get home

@michaelpolaski4186 yessir, for me it turned out I had to holes burned into the intake manifold, look into the grooves right behind the throttle body. I patched them with fiber glass and high heat epoxy, worked fine. BUT, what caused that to happen? My catalytic converters were clogged! FUCK, so now I need new cats, looking at aftermarket options. I also noticed my crankshaft pulley, harmonic balancer is wobbling. Things pissing me off, as of right now its sitting in my driveway. Have to get the parts and fuck w it, Im honestly ready to just swap the engine w a reman. Its probanly cheaper, I seen some brand new ones for 1200. Also my thermostat housing is leaking, common problem on those, they makes one piece aluminum replacement ones, I cant think of the brand rn.

Is there a pigtail for the connector on the front side of the Throttle? The little 2 wire connecter going into what looks like a throttle motor.

Hey quick question my 2007 explorer eddie bauer SUV has a throttle problem that has a few times on the go this year. When I slow down/ stopped and then step on the gas again; sometimes the trottle will not respond but the engine is still running. Is there that a result of the throttle positioning sensor or the the throttle body or anything else?

@platinum Garage I had the same wire issue with my 07 explorer sport track and getting error code p0171 lean on bank one. I taped up the wires on the tps sensor and ran good for a little while (3 hours)and back to the way it was. when its at idle the gouge jumps up and down at stop lights and then when I do a cold start in the morning the motor does not race normally at warm up. it just goes down to low idle. also, at stop lights it will be 1500 rpms when coming to a light and stopped then after a few seconds just drops down to 1000 making the engine chug. I was thinking maybe EGR Valve (changed that out) and that made it run good for a few hours (with engine light on ) but again back to the hesitation at idle again. I cleaned the mass air sensor and going to change out the pigtail this weekend. This is really driving me crazy but is it possible the wire issue would be causing all this or could it a a tps sensor too? My neighbor said he rarely sees tps sensors go bad. Also, when I taped up the wires on the tps sensor the engine light went away for those 3 hours but did come back on. wonder if I need to do a relearn or anything? Great job on the video and appreciate all the tips and ideas.

Remove the negative terminal on the battery. Replace the harness. Get a used throttle body. See what happens.
