*I'm deaf in my right ear which is why I'm not wearing headphones. I know, it's a bummer not to get the panning sounds. It's also been a bummer to only have one ear my whole life for lots of other reasons, like, playing telephone growing up, I was terrible at it. But, I'll be ok, and I'm getting both channels in the earbud, thanks for your concern :)

GYPSY, without a doubt, is the best song on the album, and It's a shame it wasn't a single and it wasn't treated properly.

I think for a moment there in the void of news on the DWUW video there were rumours it was being considered as a single to kickstart the era again around January 2014, but then they started filming the G.U.Y. video which released in March 2014.

Literally one of the best songs she’s ever made. Also the best ARTPOP song.
Idk why but this song literally just makes me emotional as fuck. Not just because of the background behind the song and how lonely she was on the road but the fact that it’s kinda her saying she loves being with us on stage and traveling the world to live life with us.
During several years Lady Gaga had no proper home and since she was always moving all over the world she was considering herself as a gypsy! Nowadays she is less like this since her fibromyalgia really started

The album definitely starts to make more sense the more you listen to it. You think they are all sex and love songs, but then you realize that they are a little more than that. Aura and ARTPOP mention how she has no barriers when making art, Swine bringing up her abuse, Dope and Mary Jane holland talking about her addictions, Gipsy about how it feels to be on tour and far from home , Applause about how the applause from the fans was one of the things that help her overcome her hip surgery.
Donatella makes fun of how some people witness Gaga, and Fashion! talks about how being herself got her to the top.

The chorus is really soaring on this, kinda placed in the tracklist like a big song getting near to closing out the album. The use of the title word became a little controversial in some circles over the years as it has been seen as a ethnically charged term for the Romani people (rather than a more general term for a nomad), bit like a repeat of the use of some of the racial descriptors in Born This Way. Although you have songs from way back from Cher and Fleetwood Mac using it, which might be waved off as ‘It was different times’ by those who view it as problematic (Shakira also has a song with the same title OTOH).YMMV.
Anyways, the Scheibe callback and Australia got a shout out in the country/city section!
This is one of my favorite songs from her. It’s about Taylor Kinney, who she loved so much and was engaged to. He broke up with her tho 😭
The most divisive thing about this album is the hits that she decided not to release and/or finally ended up leaking or cancelled like the bombastic BROOKLYN NIGHTS, Cake, Princess Die, Partynauseous, I wanna be with you, DWYW ft. Christina Aguilera, Ratchet and Red Flame.
Red Flame is horrible and it was an Azealia track from her album
Partynauseous would have been such a killer single. I'm still upset about it lol
@@nicholasbert4475 its just that we got what Azealia worked with, I doubt thr leaked version would be the album version since it's just Gaga singing two/three lines.
I prefer Fleetwood Mac's Gypsy.
