    Got a bit antsy watching 2" being carved out of a mirror. Great result, Jon!

    More DIY's!
    This is actually pretty clever and you know I'm a fan of the understated look.

      bruceyyyyy I’ve been wanting to do DIY videos. I did them way back when I first had the FXT, but I haven’t made one in a long while. Next week I’ll be doing a quick video on alternate ways to mount a skid plate (since the frontal Honda mounting point is sooo weak).

      @@JonDZ_Adventuring Cool mods are like my favorite thing to do. The adventuring is just sort of a side effect of said mods. (:

    Damnit Jon, if I mount any more lights onto my car my wife is going to kill me.
    So naturally, I want to do it. 😁😁

    Nice job Jon, 9:24 you can see how clean they really do look once completed. They almost look molded in.

    Nice work, that turned out great! That's a brilliant alternative to having ditch lights sticking out from the back of the hood.

      softroadingthewest thanks Donald! This project was cost effective, but man o man was it time consuming! I’m very happy with the results though 😃.

    Not strong as anticipated for ditch lights but I noticed your other current videos with ditch light brackets on the hood so I'm guessing you were thinking the same in the end.

    Good video showcasing what u needed to do for your given situation. Love the angles . It gave us visual learners a good perspective. When you had posted about it on your IG I was very curious to see what the inside of your mirror housing would look like. I would be concerned about any wires good to see that there are definitely wire harnesses to watch out for but that with careful cutting you should be able to cut around it. Just gotta be mindful for it. However, my mirors are pretty thin and I don't think I would or should be cutting into mine. Otherwise great diy mod and very well thought out and practical!

      the.rooted. progress thanks Marc! Now, I’m going to try to figure out a way to flush mount something into my cargo carrier 😃!

      @@JonDZ_Adventuring lol niiiiceee. U gonna use the same lights u used for the mirrors or are u planning to go get a different light pod for the cargo carrier?

      the.rooted. progress different, I would like a higher powered light bar. But no rush on that project. Ditch lights or side lighting is soooo much more important. IMO, a light bar would be more for luxury. I haven’t been in a situation where I wished I had more frontal lighting.

    • @therootedprogress
      @therootedprogress 4 роки тому +1

      @@JonDZ_Adventuring yesss agreee! Our headlights suck so we'll prolly upgrade to a light bar soon. Likewise we haven't done much trails at night so we haven't been rushed to get auxillary lighting.
      If you need lighting bro you could use our discount code for OZ USA. They're not too expensive and have relatively good lights. Comparable to Baja designs. Let me know 👍

      the.rooted. progress thanks Marc! I’ll keep that in mind. For my next upgrade, I’m looking at a $1080 tire carrier 😱 by Rigd. So other things will have to go on the back burner. (Unless they are cheap and effective).

    That’s awesome! How did you wire the electrical? Run a line to the battery or tap into something in the door? I just had my side mirror from my 16 pilot taken apart, wish I saw this before I put it back together!

    • @JonDZ_Adventuring
      @JonDZ_Adventuring  4 роки тому +1

      Gabriel Nace I wired it to to the battery via a $10 wiring harness with relay and switch

    If only the passport had steering actives lights, theres a few things the passport is missing, like this and a full surround camera

    • @JonDZ_Adventuring
      @JonDZ_Adventuring  3 роки тому

      Ian Abbott I think the upper trims may have those headlights, but I couldn’t bring myself to pay for all the foo foo stuff 🤣. Surround camera would be nice! I’m trying to figure out how to give myself a front facing camera, that would be very helpful.

    Does your Passport have the Honda Blind Spot Indication?

    • @JonDZ_Adventuring
      @JonDZ_Adventuring  4 роки тому

      Jay JanyH yes. Also has a blinker and the motor too. Some of the upper trims have a blind spot camera I believe .

    Passport owners! Where is the wire harness bypass to run new wires through the firewall?

    • @JonDZ_Adventuring

      James Kelley I ran mine through the fender and then through the A-pillar and then back down to the lower left dash. Not sure about the firewall.
