Wow! You young guys still know the famous SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN Opening. When you bought something dirt cheap you expected a lot of repair work or lot of worn out parts replace.
That excavator looks like a good addition to the fleet but what really impressed me was that arctic cat quad starting and moving under its own power

Love the excavator. In the army with heavy equipment we would always add an extra chain at the back so if something fails the APC or whatever doesn't join you in the cab. 😂

Given the time and effort put into repairing the excavator, my best guess is there was something wrong with the truck that was beyond repair; perhaps a bent frame.
Yet when it breaks down you call the guys to fix the truck and can't figure out why you have to call them all the time
It's not often that 5 and a half inches is too big to fit 😉

I've been a Chevy girl all my life but I sure wish I could have turned you loose on the last one we had. 2012 Silverado, one thing after another, couple thousand dollars in repairs, finally was told that to diagnose the last problem would require a total teardown of the engine JUST to diagnose, not repair (which we did NOT do). When your own mechanic, a genius in business for decades who I would trust with my life, says to give up on the truck, you give up on the truck. I was so mad at it at the end, I'd have loved to see you trash it. Don't worry about the "holier than thous" griping about what you did. I get it. Enjoyed the whole video. Thanks!
The new stuff has problems due to over engineering and electronics. You don’t have those problems with old manual stuff. Still sucks.

Come to Dallas Fort Worth and spend a few days visiting all our salvage yards. Acres and acres with rows and rows of that same truck stacked two high.

could have been a num,ber of things wrong with it engine or trans could have been blown and it cost more then the truck was worth to fix copulda had really bad spots in the frame there would have been more effort to repaiur or path then the truck was worth who knows could have been many things

As far as scientific experiments go, you can't mate a mini excavator with a pickup truck.
Nice video, not a bad looking machine. I m working on a video of the caterpillar 303 I bought cheap and put a new motor in and a bunch of other work. Love having a mini excavator now

He fixes all kinds of old equipment. If he destroys a truck, that means it's something that is not reparable and will be scrap anyway.

Besides pushing dirt around, the blade is the functional equivalent of outriggers on a backhoe. Point the blade at the hole you're digging and then lower it until it begins lifting the track. Now most of the force of digging is going through the blade, which is made of heavy steel, and not the tracks, which are made of rubber.
That really needs sprockets, too !!!

Have you ever watched Andrew camarata UA-cam channel before? Those are basically pretty much the same set-up as yours. You just half to check and measure the size and Gap distance between the stud bolts for the ⚙️ and track rollers is all.
Someone somewhere probably would have been thrilled with that truck! AND you scraped it!

@@frankadam02 sounds to me like you've been bottle fed all your life. There's people that could really use anything that runs or needs mabe a little work. At one time I was that person. I got off the bottle as a teenager. School of hard knocks for me. So be kind and generous to others that may use it.

Maybe I missed it, but what was the reasoning for the second excavator? Your little Diggit seemed to be very effective? Just needed someone bigger? More power? From what I can see the Diggit could have handled the holes for the rocks?

That's the only proper use of a Ford pickup unless it has a 7.3 diesel or an inline 6 300.

Loader backhoes are clumsy. They wouldn’t replace an excavator of any size in my opinion

All these people complaining about him destroying the truck make me laugh. I've been watching long enough to know that he's fixed, what I'd call, some of the most questionable things. Things I wouldn't give a second look at, nor would I even try to repair. And they work. So when I see him rip and tear that truck apart like the Doomslayer, I know it is BEYOND repair or not worth it. Plus, on a side note: He's asserting dominance over the other vehicles in the area that might even be thinking about breaking down.
