Developed by Burrhus Frederic Skinner, Reinforcement Theory is based on the belief people are motivated to repeat behavior that gets rewarded and to avoid behavior that's not rewarded. Skinner also outlined four behaviors that individuals and managers could engage in to reinforce or punish certain behaviors. These include positive reinforcement, negative reinforcement, punishment, and extinction.
In this video we'll discuss each of these four reinforcement methods and I'll provide a few examples of their use.
