Here is another example of humanity's best: one among many to step-up to an initiative for the benefit of others...
'Hats off to you, bro...and thanks for that block of instruction.
Found this by accident and was interested to see. What a brilliant explanation. If anyone else is trying to explain, then just put a link to this video ;-) .
Easiest to understand explanation of expo and dual rate I've seen. Thanks!
It's my pleasure Andrew! I need to make a new one, something without my sloppy hand drawn graph LOL. www.Rc-Help.com
As a 62 yr AMA Senior I am so happy to see modelers helping other modelers via these free videos. This is what the hobby is all about. This is an excellent clear video that has already helped many I am sure. Thank you!
Hey John, thanks for the kind words. I made this video years ago because it seemed every day I was having someone ask the question of what is Dual Rate, What is Expo? But yes, it has helped many over the years and you are exactly right, it's all about helping other modelers out there get into the hobby and understand what these things are about. www.Rc-Help.com
I've watched your video explanation of DR & Expo several times and always learn something that I need to remember. Thanks for posting your video.
Hey Tony, iv only had my DX6i for three days, a friend put me onto your videos and im alredy up in the air with my E-Sky Belt-cp... its never flown so well! I spent a whole afternoon watching your videos then went and set my heli and DX6i up...WOW!! Its the most stable its ever been, i feel like im in control of it, and its not in control of me!...thank you so much. Regards from the U.K
Hey mate, that's the best explanation I have found so far for dr and expo. Never understood it until your fantastic demo. Cheers. Mick in the UK
Hey Mick, I'm glad I could help out.
I know this is an old video, but as an RC noob, i must say this is absolutely the best and simplest eksplorationen of expo an DR i have found. Thank you!!!!
It is definitely an older video of mine, but still holds true to this day. I'm glad it could help you out without being too overly complicated like I have seen other videos do. If you need help with anything else, feel free to sign up on out forum and post up. Everybody is welcomed, especially beginners to this wonderful hobby! www.Rc-Help.com
Haven’t flown for ages and needed to refresh my memory on this, so it’s lucky I have it in my liked vids.
Great info thanks.
Nice! Glad I could help out.
Most excellent Video. The DEVO 7 flying a walkera 450 3-D, Has been tough. A friend sent me your explanation, I had Negative EXPO & D/R set at 75%. I have moved my EXPO to +50, & D/R at 75% Gave me Much more control! Thank You!
Thanks, for explaining it so perfectly and for helping out so many people you dont even know.
Your explanation and video is GREATLY appreciated.
I had no clue what these were and how it affected my controls.
It makes perfect sense after your explanation.
Thank you!!!
Wow. Took me 5 years to find this. Thanks man!!
Glad I could help out Matt. www.Rc-Help.com
Thanks for your video. You explained it perfectly. Couldn't be better or clearer.
Hey Guy, Glad I could help out! www.Rc-Help.com
The servo discussion really helped! Rates are hard to understand when your quad has no servos!
Yup, it is the same, just with no physical item to see moving. I did make another video on DR and Expo where I use a servo to show how it works, but without the graph. ua-cam.com/video/x8EjSlcoMUM/v-deo.html
Thanks Tony. Going back through some of your older videos. All great information and ALL STILL RELEVANT!! Anyway Tony, I hope that all is well with you my friend. I hope that you and your Family are all well during this Difficult Time in all Our Lives! I hope that you and your Family all Stay Safe and Stay Healthy Brother! Take care of yourself. ❤🙏❤
Doing what we can do! Thank you for the kind words!
Thank you, finally an explanation that three people at Hobby People could not explain to me, thanks for taking the time:-)
Although this is a 11 years old video, but still very very helpful to understand
Outstanding! Thank you for this very clear, concise, and logical explanation. Makes perfect sense now.
Thanks for this video as a beginner pilot !
Thank you for the info. your video helped my understanding of expose. Reducing the sensitive of aileron and elevator, the heli now fly much better than before.
I'm glad I could help out. Hope to see you on the forum soon! www.Rc-Help.com
I just bought my first heli and you just helped me soooooo much thank you
Thank you finally now I understand after 20 + videos. You rock!
So glad I found this video. Helped me out so much. Thank you
thank you for that clear and easy to understand explanation! big help for a beginner like me!
It makes perfect sense, thanks for clearing it up!
Awesome explanation mate, thanks for the well presented and easy to understand presentation.
Brilliant, thanks for the great simple to understand video and explanation, now all becomes clearer
Nice video. I do have one question though. You say that + expo gives a slow curve from center to 50 and fast from 50 to 100, and with - Expo it gives a faster curve 0-50 and slow to 50-100.
My question is , do all RX have the same set up, because my Futaba 7C has the opposite setting. - Expo gives slow start to center movement and fast to finish, and
+ Expo gives start to center fast and slow to finish..
that was a great simple way to explain a 2rate and expo. great if there was an actual servo attached to a surface to really get to see side by side with the TX your explanation. but for the hobby .. u did a great job...
Wow, excellent explanation!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you so much brotha. You helped me understand it.
Thanks, made it very clear for me. Now need to play with the setting to see what works for me.
Well said, you just answered all my questions.
Great instructional video. Thank You for your time in making it.
Thanks. You've explained it better than others. My mind comprehends. :P
Glad I could help out Matt.
So at 75% DR would 35% EXPO be a good starting point for a first time pilot flying a high wing trainer? Thanks for your helpful video. Please reply.
Thanks mate, just what needed. I now have EXPO +25%
Thanks tony. i never actually knew what DR & expo was until now and i have been flying for about 2 years lol.
Thanks a lot bro, huge help!
Well presented easily understood - nice job
how can i set my throttle so that it goes at 50% max or 40% max speed when i hit it full throttle? For example when i give my rc to my 6 year old nephew and he keeps pressing the throttle full down with the danger of destroying my rc vehicle. With dual rate?Or with epa?
I'm a quad pilot but this helped a lot. Thanks
Wicked video dude! Thanks a lot!!!!!
My pleasure Adrian! glad I could help out!
Wow you explained it to where I understood everything thanks!
It's my pleasure, glad I could help out! www.Rc-Help.com
Brilliant- thanks for sharing your knowledge!
My pleasure!
Great explanation, now i have understood. Greetings from Brasil
Thank you so much, it helps me a lot
For those who happen upon this video, remember, with some manufacturers negative expo slows response and positive expo speeds up response (opposite to what is explained here for the Spektrum radio).
That is exactly correct Jerry. Futaba I believe is one of those manufacturers that is opposite of Spektrum. Thanks for the comment!
What will the EXPO curve look like at 25% 50% and 75%? Thanks....
Can u explain using the car as it react and move on on that graph..thanks
Great info thank you for this video!!!
Happy I could help out! www.Rc-Help.com
Very well explained. Thanks a lot.
My pleasure. www.Rc-Help.com
Hey tony, thanks that helps alot, i still need to understand when to use - expo.
i understand the + expo now, it makes the servo slower in the beginning. but when and why would i use the -expo.
For rc helicopter, do you set it for tail to or just ailerons and elevator? I ask because of the gyro.
I never set any DR or Expo in the tail, I let the tail gyro do all of that. But I do set it for the cyclic even on a flybarless helicopter.
@@RcHelpDotCom I was wondering. Thanks for the reply. I still think a snappy tail can be calmed down that way.
I have always looked for a very snappy tail on my helicopters. One thing you can do to help tame down a tail is move the ball on the servo further into the center, or even calibrate the tail and not quite go to the full end travel of the tail blades. Of course if you want to give DR a try on the tail, go for it. Just make sure you are ready to hit that throttle hold switch in case something goes wrong. And of course, let us know how your testing goes.
@@RcHelpDotCom mechanically suits me better. Dont want to disturb the gyro🙂🇳🇱. I just seen somebody do it and was wondering.
Yup, I would rather do it mechanically as well. Just way less things to go wrong.
Very helpful.....thank you
You're welcome!
Thank you.. Been flying planes and helicopters my whole life and took a break from buying new stuff just got back into it and ran into this ?
Yea, When I got out of it, NiMh was the hot pack and we were thrilled about the new 3300mah packs. I leave for a few years and now there is brushless and LiPo's out here lol. It is definitely quite a change, but after studying it for a while, it all starts to make sense. If we can be of any help, come over and join up on our forum. We have a lot of great information over there. www.Rc-Help.com
great explanation man! thx!!!
My pleasure Trevor. www.Rc-Help.com

Excellent! Thank you!
My pleasure Valerie. I'm glad I could help out.
Yes, Futaba is the opposite of Spektrum. Hope that helps.
Great explanations
Huge help brother thanks!
Exactly what I was looking for Thank you
Thanks for the great info!
Love your marker too! Expo!
Very clear explanation! As a new player, may i ask that what exponential percentage should be set ? thank you very much
Thank you very much
this was a very good explanation
I'm glad I could help out Antonio! www.Rc-Help.com
Great basic explanation. I'm getting there!
Why don't you allow comments on your other vids? Best explanation video out for dual rates and expo. On my TX650 from Helimax, negative expo equals less sensitivity and positive equals more sensitivity.
Done a good job,helpfull,thanks
Glad I could help out Ed! www.Rc-Help.com
Thank you lot's ,god bless you and your familly
It's my pleasure! www.Rc-Help.com

Great explanation.
This was VERY useful!
Thanks for sharing this great info
Thanks a lot! I don't think I'll be getting any use of dual rates cause I don't think they're very important, I think it
Great explanation. I got it! Thanks!
very nice explanation .. thanks a lot
Thank you you just help me a lot
Thank you.
I subscribed... Why because you had heavy metal music playing before the video started, and I need to understand dual rates and Expo...
haha, love this comment! Thanks for the sub. Hope the video helped you out. www.Rc-Help.com
By far Spektrum is the most user friendly. I started out with Futaba and almost gave up on the hobby. I then sold the 7CH and bought a Spektrum dx7s. Nothing against Futaba because I still use them on my cars and trucks but for flying, SPEKTRUM is the way to go.
Thanks again tony!
Good explanation.
Thanks so so much.
My transmitter (luckily) came with a small explanation at least noting that -expo is less aggressive and + is more aggressive. I have another radio that explains the exact opposite. Can't win.
makes perfect sense! TY!
Great 👍
cheers sir
that help me a lot thanks!
you are the best
Tony I sure will post some vid of my flights, just need to get my head around the headlock gyro and setup?.... Watch this space.....
